Thank you for taking the time to make these videos, and open up your life to anyone watching. I can't tell you how much it has helped me out, not just with cooking, but I feel a lot less lonely, and you always bring my mood up. It's nice to see other cheerful people, I see so much negativity on the net, it can make me feel like the whole world is that way. You all are a great reminder that there are still normal ok people out there. Big hugs to all of you!!!! (that includes your animals )
I do too! Also have the blending forks. Christmas gift from oldest daughter/she knew how I wanted both and I love them also. That blending fork is now a"GO TO!" 👍❤️
I actually found your channel by searching "how to make homemade biscuits". That was close to a year ago. My favorite video of your biscuits is doing the rolled biscuits. It amazes me how the flour underneath doesn't get wet! Making homemade biscuits connects me to my grandmother that passed 24 years ago. I appreciate your Godly family. values.
We have a fig tree that’s huge. Two yrs ago I made 120 jars of fig jam. I made strawberry fig, raspberry fig, orange fig and pineapple fig. I just ordered biscuit mix, and your measuring cups!
I had to teach my self to cook. Now I’m thankful for the extra help on you tube. My ex mom would not help me so I winged it and praise the lord for working in a military day care in the kitchen and learning from the head cook many things. Took me a few years to finely get it on cooking.
Everything looks wonderfully, as usual. I love the space you have for your kitchen. I did 20 min on 425 in my oven with your recipe for the biscuits. That BlackBerry jam looked so good. I love blackberries too. That's the only jam in my fridge. I can smell that bacon, it looks so good. Keep up the awesome sows and your positive attitude.

I bought a set of the measuring spoons before Amazon jacked the price up and my co-worker ordered a set last week after the price went up. They are so nice and sturdy. I've purchased several items from your Amazon list.
First off I'm 70 years old and newly widowed, my husband always said I couldn't cook for less than 6 people and now I'm cooking for one so if occasionally you can do a recipe for one I'd appreciate it
I always cooked for 4-5 , my 2 sons ate like grown men until they hit 17 .I ended up leaving their a Dad 6-7 years ago and have been desperately trying to cook fir one with no leftovers alit of the time. Growing up we would go to my grandparents home in SC way way way out in the woods. this was in the 1950s. Panthers were often seen in the area, large solid black panthers. You would lie in the bed late at night and hear them walking by the cabin windows breathing as they hunted. Anyway, I wanted to share that story. Getting to the blackberry jam my grandmother made from scratch. She picked the black berries and made her jam. I don't know her recipe but we would top our biscuits she made each morning. I believe they were made up with flour, lard and buttermilk and other good things I wish I could return to that time and stay.
Love breakfast any time of day. And always enjoy watching you cook it. I’m wondering if you would enjoy a small cabinet in your kitchen to the right of the big double doors for your microwave. Wouldn’t have to be too big and seems would be more convenient for you and save you some steps. Thought of that when you had to go get another spoon. Now I want to find me some blackberries and go watch your jam video. Looks great. And everyone can cook their biscuits as long as they want. You just ignore anyone telling you how long to cook yours. And who knows..your new oven may cook them differently. So everyone needs to get off your case about it. They don’t have to eat them. ❤️❤️ I love watching and listening to you and Chris.
And I’m not trying to tell you what to do in your kitchen...just thinking of ways to save you some steps. There may not even be room there for one. I’m just lazy that way.
Enjoy your videos and you being you...dont change a thing!! Be who you are...that is why you guys have a big following!! Cause they like you guys!!! Ignore the mean ones!!
I got to see video late as usual. You're cooking is awesome. Really it is. I do believe some people aren't happy unless they're complaining! I'm a nurse and we have them at work also!
I love yall just the way you ate don't ever change ! I'm from Middleboro KY about hour half from dollywood in tn so I'm with ya girl don't worry but what people think me and you would get along good just love yall!
Love your videos, everytime you make one I stop everything and watch it. I have been cooking and baking for 50+ years, and I still find something new to learn from you. Oh, by the way I'm from the north and I love to hear your southern accent. 💙💜
I love your show! You remind me so much of my mom and grandma.....no offense implied, they were both gorgeous and wonderful women! Blackberry jam is one of my faves but Boysenberry is where it's at! Anyone interested, look up how Boysen created the hybrid berry and later Knott bought him out and created Knott's Berry Farm!
I sat here and belly laughed at you guys tonight.....I've never heard Chris laugh so much on your video's. Yeah, I don't know why people have to be such a drag about how someone does something. It's your life, your kitchen, and if you wanna pour grease down the sink .....well I wouldn't recommend it but it's your life your show. I love blackberries anything. I pick them on our farm here. I make pie ..so I may watch the jam video later. My it looks so good. I'm envious tonight. Happy eating!
I came for the biscuits and plan to stay to learn jam or preserves- I want to learn to make both for my granddaughter. Thanks for taking the trouble to show me the way. I moved from NW GA (Chickamauga) too, but I moved to SW GA instead. The bacon they favor in the UK is called back bacon here and if you want to try some I have it in the freezer and I can likely bring you some to try if you’re in SW GA. Just let me know. Thanks!
@@CollardValleyCooks I owned the Shields house on Red Belt Road across the highway from Chickamauga down a ways from Lee & Gordon’s mill. Chris may know of it as it was quite old.
Those who criticize should sign off and watch another show that makes them happy. Biscuits are beautiful. I live in Calif and most stores don't sell biscuit mix, unless you count Bisquick, but thank goodness we have grits.I had never made grits with milk until I watched your show and yep it sure does taste much better, thank you.n I love my gas stove!
THANK YOU FOR SAYING THAT!!! Yes, people are edgie, critical, questionnaire's, analysts.... Kitchen Police! Maybe tomorrow I'll do something UNSPEAKABLE like pet my dogs and not wash my hands before I touch the bacon!❤️☕🌺
It is good but our house (HUBS,MYSELF & 2 GIRLS ) aLWAYS USED SALT & BUTTER R GRAVY , said sugar was 4 Oatmeal ... Then came marriages & both girls Started using Sugar on their Grits as did their hubbys so I guess it's just a personal choice now ... yes even 4 me lol lol .
I tried to tell that gal it could be expired baking powder or baking soda, but she insisted it was the scoop, so I dropped it. I love my measuring scoops and use them all the time. 👍🏼 I also get frustrated when people tell me I’m cooking something wrong. I’m 75 years old! How many meals do they think I’ve cooked? I agree with Frank Sinatra....”I did it my way!” 😂
🌹Good Morning omg my families favorite Breakfast.for Dinner. 👍💯💯💯I love the way you move around your kitchen while your cooking in a rhythm like you been cooking for a 100 years I so enjoy your channel and your husband is awesome too What great tips you give give Thank You So Much For Sharing Many Blessings
I never had grits untill we moved from Oregon to Florida i love them but i don't put sugar in them i like them with butter and salt and pepper i have also grown to love sweet tea
I had a gas stove for thirty five years, my cabinets above the stove and across my small kitchen were always filthy from grease getting in the air! I have had electric now for thirty years, my cabinets are not covered in grease! I miss cooking on a gas stove though! LOL! Can’t win! Love your videos, hope you have had a really great day! ❤️💕❤️💕❤️😍
When my Dad put in too much flour in his biscuits, he said that he drowned the Miller, the guy who grinds the flour. He passed in 1995. Miss him. Tammy I’m in agreement with you about all of the picky people that watch you. The truth hurts them. You made me giggle with your frankness. You could always say, kiss my grits, like a show that was on TV.
Hello Chris and Tammy, love watching y’all cook. I am an old Southern cook but I never was able to make good biscuits. I have watched your videos over and over and I am making great biscuits! My husband loves breakfast and thanks you very much!
Paula Deen did a Quarantine video about making biscuits from scratch (she uses butter), but she really wanted folks to buy her mix, which was pretty small and cost $6 a box (I'm sure you have to pay shipping, too). My oven went out last week so I made the Southern Biscuit Mix biscuits and baked them in the Air Fryer for the 1st time (because I had seen you do it) and they were the best ones I ever made! They rose higher and had a really nice crust.
Darn I wish I knew about the link page.... cause I bought the small oven like you have . So far i really like it. You are fabulous.💛 I'd like to know do you take shots for your RA?
I used to have those scoops or something really similar YEARS ago. They got lost in a move, or a former friend with sticky fingers walked off with them. I never replaced them. But I never had 1 issue with those scoops. Oh wait I take that back, my husband broke one of the handles. A lot of sellers on Amazon have been jacking up their prices. Search for Ball Jars, they're running $30 and up. I tried to replace my Ball book and the day I looked it was over $75. Before I started watching your channel, I went on Amazon to get a fish spatula, from the advise of Micheal Symom, and a bunch of your stuff came up in my recommended. It said 'Other Collard Valley Cooks bought or something like that. That's how I ended up watching your channel.
I love my measuring scoops never had any problems with recipes. I can't believe how mean people can be, hang in there Tammy you do a marvelous job of teaching us southern and northern guys how to cook like Mama did. Love ya Kay
New subbie alert*****I was looking for a fried pork chop recipe and came across your channel today. The video was awesome and now I'm hooked on your content!!! I love to cook🙌🙌👍
Tammy I've eaten dinner already you make me wantin to eat again but nawl I'm having that tomorrow nite for dinner not having BlackBerry jam but strawberry that what I got on hand for now, THANKS FOR SHARING you makes me hungry every time I watch your videos.
I watch you lots, I know you do a great job on cooking. If peoples biscuits are hard as a rock. It has to be they didn’t use crisco, lard, are hard butter. I don’t like using oil it’s to heavy as my mom would say. If they don’t use self rising flour, and use just plain with out salt, baking power, they will be hard as a rock, they are in for a rude awakening. lol I guess what I’m saying they need to read directions. You all are great. I’m from the shenandoah valley, blue ridge mountains of Va. But now live in Ky.now. Keep on keeping on. So many trolls on here to. Have you ever made chocolate gravy? I never have but want to try.
Canadian bacon is called Peameal bacon and it's covered with cornmeal, and taste salty..When you buy in the grocery store it will be prepackage, unsliced, and can find in butcher shops as well..In some areas in Canada they will call it Back bacon... However, we also love regular bacon like the bacon you fry up in all your videos... Who doesn't love bacon!
Ps. Go back an ask if you can pick some i am sure they wouldn't care one bit to share the Blackberries for sure! When i was alot younger we use to go an pick them an sale them by the gallon an 5 gallon. Make extra money for the summer.
Mmmmmm. Breakfast any meal. Asking why do you pat buttermilk on your biscuits before you bake them? Does it brown them or make the tops softer? Love grits. Will make them in the microwave. and see if I can get it to work. Trying to cook them on the stove is not fun! So glad you are getting a gas stove. Hope it is there soon. Love y'all! 😊
From Canada here. Canadian bacon/back bacon does not have the fat that regular bacon has. It looks more like small rounds of ham and some have the edges rolled in pea meal. Great for sandwiches! We normally have regular bacon and we (my family) like it extra crispy too!
Love CVC channel and you and Chris are a hoot!! Thanks for being yourselves. And streaky bacon is from the pork belly and British bacon is the same cut as a pork tenderloin or loin roast, just sliced and cured differently. 🥰 Heck, it’s bacon, let’s eat some! TFS
My granny cooked grits and for breakfast lunch and dinner...and we always put sugar..dont you eben worry about those mean commenters...you are a true down south gal..
I put mine on oven 400 for my biscuits and got them out before they got too brown, your right ovens are different. And I didn’t knead them very much so gluten wouldn’t work up so much, Tammy your a wonderful cook , love love your recipes!
Hi. I just moved from Kentucky to Nevada and I’m having a big culture shock. Out here you can’t get white lily flour or the biscuit mix. I have always use white lily and have know idea on what kind is good out here.
I love your channel. You gyys are so sweet. I from southern Il.and learned to cook similar to you.I was wondering have you ever tried cooking your bacon on a rack cooking sheet in the oven ? It never cook it the stove anymore so easy . You guys I have a electric stove, your lucky getting a gas stove ! ❤ Nevermind the nay sayers.. It does seem people like to critical just always remember its there journey not ours 😉Grits I have not had for a while.I grew up and we ate Mush with butter and syrup. Take Care Pam > ❤
Tammy and Chris I watch you just for the main reason that you guys are not phonies like all these little Cinderella’s on most of these cooking shows. The minute the camera goes on they start their performance. Just stay down to earth and cook anyway you darn well please. I’m actually 70 years old but I was raised in California. My grandmother was from Kentucky and I spent a lot of time with her and she cooked a lot like you. Just keep up the good work and don’t pay any attention to jealous people.
Hello,, I’m from the U.K. and enjoy watching what you cook,, far away from where I live. I know that we here,, like our food to be served hot ,, hot food is kept hot /warm for serving. Whereas, you just leave it all going cold, whilst cooking other stuff? I don’t understand this?? Do you only cook like this for the purpose of the video? Btw,, I love crispy bacon, preferably with the rind on. xx
Collard Valley Cooks I just find it so interesting how different countries do things in different ways. Your grits, I think they are a similar thing to what we would call ‘porridge ‘? In England, we would never combine that with Savoury dishes such a bacon and eggs. We don’t really do, sweet, mixed with savoury’s that much, definitely not for breakfast. I just find it fascinating how different countries make the same foods in sooooo many different ways Thanks so much for your Vlogs, they’re great! xxx

Good idea
I agree With you no double dipping in the jam or jelly you must always use a clean spoon or knife I had to teach this to my husband
I appreciate that
I love yall just the way you ate don't ever change !
You are a hoot! Love watching you and Chris, I feel like I am sitting in your kitchen. I agree about the stove, especially the flat top.
Pioneer biscuit mix is great! I can’t find Your brand in Central Texas.
Thanks!
We are in Southeast Georgia on the coast. Chris grew up in Chickamauga! My babies were born in Ft. Oglethorpe! I am from Cedartown, GA.
Maybe tomorrow I'll do something UNSPEAKABLE like pet my dogs and not wash my hands before I touch the bacon!❤️☕🌺
l'm pretty new to your channel Tammy but l think you and Chris make a great team! l appreciate your honesty and love to watch you cook!!
I love grits with bacon, butter and too much salt! 😂 I’ve never tried sugar in them.
I'M new to your channel for about a month now, and I love it. I want those measure cups.
Glad you like them!
I come here to watch you cook and learn. Not about to tell you how to cook or what to do. Carry on as you are :)
I tried to tell that gal it could be expired baking powder or baking soda, but she insisted it was the scoop, so I dropped it. I love my measuring scoops and use them all the time. 👍🏼
I also get frustrated when people tell me I’m cooking something wrong. I’m 75 years old! How many meals do they think I’ve cooked? I agree with Frank Sinatra....”I did it my way!” 😂
I love knitted or crocheted dish cloths . I see you have one also?
Yes I do!
People with bad comments needs to leave you alone. They are just jealous. They don't have anything better to do. So you are a super lady.
I do not
I used to have those scoops or something really similar YEARS ago.
Love ya Kay
Yes we southerners and Northerners need to stick together!
I love watching your show! New favorite! May I ask where you got your shorts? So cute!!
Belk Zelos
@@CollardValleyCooks thank you so much!
New subbie alert*****I was looking for a fried pork chop recipe and came across your channel today. The video was awesome and now I'm hooked on your content!!! I love to cook🙌🙌👍
Thanks for subbing!
I never have but want to try.
ua-cam.com/video/nCMtg8GsqiY/v-deo.html here you go
Canadian bacon is called Peameal bacon and it's covered with cornmeal, and taste salty..When you buy in the grocery store it will be prepackage, unsliced, and can find in butcher shops as well..In some areas in Canada they will call it Back bacon... However, we also love regular bacon like the bacon you fry up in all your videos... Who doesn't love bacon!
Tammy I love your cooking technique dont you change a thing ❤
I agree with you Nancy. Tammy is fantastic just the way she is.
Love y'all! 😊
It browns them and gives more flavor
From Canada here. Canadian bacon/back bacon does not have the fat that regular bacon has. It looks more like small rounds of ham and some have the edges rolled in pea meal. Great for sandwiches! We normally have regular bacon and we (my family) like it extra crispy too!
Thanks!
TFS
Thanks for the info!
British bacon is like unsmoked ham. They also eat what they call “streaky bacon” which is more like ours.
What was the name of the show you were on? I remember watching it. At the time I didn’t watch CBC. Believe me it’s the best on internet.
Family Food Fight, it was on ABC
Oh my...yummy Tammy! You are an amazing cook! I grew up eating all the southern dishes you make. Love your videos!!
Ms. Tammy, don't let people upset you, I love you just the way you are., don't change for no one!
Btw,, I love crispy bacon, preferably with the rind on. xx
The sausage or bacon is the only thing that is not hot when we eat
Collard Valley Cooks I just find it so interesting how different countries do things in different ways.
Your grits, I think they are a similar thing to what we would call ‘porridge ‘?
In England, we would never combine that with Savoury dishes such a bacon and eggs.
We don’t really do, sweet, mixed with savoury’s that much, definitely not for breakfast.
I just find it fascinating how different countries make the same foods in sooooo many different ways
Thanks so much for your Vlogs, they’re great! xxx
