about 3yrs ago, I took teh seat of my summit openshot, took the cross supports from the platform and had them welded to the seat frame. Basically ended up just like this one without the neck to attach to. But I was surprised for years that I hadn't seen a manufacturer really come out with something like that. They seem like a great option.
I cut a lone wolf platform in half years ago and had something like this but without the post and strap. It worked pretty well. This one is better but same basic idea . I have videos on cutting the stand in half hahaha
This is something that has been needed since saddle hunting became popular. To me it's the final piece of the puzzle to be extremely mobile. I bought one and its great!
This stand looks great. I still watch your 2 original climber videos before every season refresher on my hand climber. Im silky smooth with it now after all the years.
Great review as always. I have two concerns about the product. If you slide down to get below the platform to put the strap on to cam it down it seems it would be very difficult to climb back on top of the platform. -I’m sure there’s a way to get around the limb, but it would take some acrobatics to do so.
The ladder aider on the front makes it pretty easy to get back into it. Yes it does take some work to get around a limb. You do need to be a bit agile for that.
Looks like a really good option Sean. I was wondering last year if it were feasible to take the lower part of that climber you gave me and use it the same way. I never got around to trying it, but the platform would be huge to stand on while in the saddle if it worked, lol! 👍
Leave one end of locking strap on the post when you come down. No need to take it completely off until on ground. Then I wrap and tie it around the post so it’s always available.
The video review in was waiting for! Thanks Sean! Love your videos. I'll run it again to see if it's something I can do (and help the algorithms of the beyond). I'm 205lb 5'8" and never used a saddle. Just the climber with a muddy harness. What do these end up costing?
I researched all the climbing platform offerings for the last couple months. In the process I contacted Panther Creek. I was concerned about the tree size limitation or what I perceived to be a limitation. The response I received was; you probably wont be satisfied with our stand so I suggest you look elsewhere. Thats when I looked closer at the Osprey Lean Ascent Alpha. I've now had it a week and hunted with it three times. Each time I get more comfortable and higher. The only draw back is it's (probably) manufactured somewhere in Asia. Nowhere on the box its shipped in states USA made. I was texting back and forth with the owner asking about another concern. and ask him directly where they were manufactured and he didn't respond.
Wow I’m surprised that said that about their stand. As far as the other guy, yeah sounds like it’s not made in the USA. One thing I’ve experienced in this industry is that there are a lot of guys who will say anything to sell their product and not be particularly ethical about the way they run their business. I’m not saying that guy fits that model but if he’s advertising made in USA and it’s not, that’s not right.
What happened to your chopped Lone Wolf base? I know, you can’t side load it like this Panther Platform. This climbing platform seems to be as good as it gets on the market today. I am a sworn one sticker. I run the Tree Top Hunting Mobile Sniper. I love the large flat platform. I sometimes hunt in trees too large for this climbing platform. I truly believe that a person getting into saddle hunting should find a climbing method that is universal to most trees then perfect that method. This allows them to be stealthy and efficient in all hunting situations.
I still have it. I’ll keep it if ever running with a buddy who wants to use it but I’m more likely going to use this stand in any similar applications.
It's to bad for me that that hole setup is as much as a high end climber tree stand, that I use. This hole set up for an older guy as me would be great! Should be a lot lighter to carrie in and out of the woods!
For me if i am going to climb a tree like with a climber bottom i would just use my climbing stand. Most WMA's i hunt you can get to spots from different roads so a climber is not a big deal to carry in and use. I use my saddle when the tree i want to hunt doesn't have a good tree in right location to hunt it.
You could. This would be lighter than a full climber platform. This also straps to the tree so it won’t budge whereas a climber platform has the potential of slipping out from under you if bumped the wrong way unless you do something extra to strap it to the tree. I cut a platform in half in the past which created something like this platform.
Man $400 seems steep when you think about it it’s just a modified saddle platform. Could use a small climber platform n put the piece from a platform on the back of it.
Where i hunt is mostly Aspen and Spruce. ( cotton wood sparsely distributed over the place in no great quantity ) anybody ever tried a saddle stand on an aspen?
I literally was just going to comment but wanted to scroll to see if anyone else thought the same. for that price, I'm buying a full climber. I'll stick with my climbing sticks. $150-$175 would've gotten me more interested. Neat idea but too pricey. Thanks Sean! Always good content.
I like this platform a lot but I can not justify spending that much on one. It is a platform. I bought the large Millenium Hangon treestand, also a Summit Ultra Viper lightweight Climbing treestand as options and didn't spend anywhere near that much. And that has way less material in it. I bought a nice new Lattitude Saddle but platforms are way overpriced for any of them.
Please know that eventually you will lose that stand under your feet and it will fall to the base of the tree. I would have it tied in or better yet use a repel line.
Seems like an awesome setup but for the life of me i cant see how they justify the prices of these...its less than half the size of any two piece climber and twice the cost. I guess your paying for light weight and convenience. Profits must be good for these.
You have to factor in that this is a small company and probably a lot of labor cost, the larger the company the more you can streamline and buy in larger quantities to help drive down the cost, or have it made in china.
Too dark. Redo. Delete this video. Strap to lock on climber goes over climbing arm not under Btw😮 U want to be skylights with no trees in background at hight.

Excellent 👍
This is a game changer for run and gun on public! Ive been following this particular platform and I am ordering one soon.
Nice
Just got one and I’m loving it
This stand looks great. I still watch your 2 original climber videos before every season refresher on my hand climber. Im silky smooth with it now after all the years.
That’s awesome
Cam strap should be above the climber cable when locking stand to tree.
I’ll try that but it seemed to work great under it. Give it a try
Nice review Sean buddy always good reviews of everything you do a review on 💯
👍

I think the aider is kinda pointelss..whats one pull up of your legs? Just extra mess in the way imo but, this is a cool idea
It can be removed pretty easily if you didn’t want to use it
"I HAD MY FEET IN LINE THIS" was waiting for a fall lol phew 1:42
👍

I think it’s 399. Thanks for watching the video twice that’s nice of you
Looks like a decent option. Thanks for the review. 👍🏼
You bet

Very cool, I'd tie a little safety line into and onto you just in case heaven forbid it drops out from under you as you climb.
👍

Yeah it’s light
Thank you for the review
You are welcome
Man i really like this but I wish that they would’ve figured out a way to make it fold flat for carrying it in and out of the woods.
I did t find that to be an issue when transporting .
That’s a cool concept. I never was into climbers, I’m not sure how I’d like it.
Thanks for checking it out (the video)

Can you just use the bottom part of a climber for a platform or is there something special about this?
You could. This would be lighter than a full climber platform. This also straps to the tree so it won’t budge whereas a climber platform has the potential of slipping out from under you if bumped the wrong way unless you do something extra to strap it to the tree. @@seansoutdoors Thanks Sean! Bless ya brother!
Why don't you reach down and raise the climber above you and re step on aiders?
Why
Also, when you can use that mini climber, why not just use a climber?
I guess it’s lighter
Because a traditional climber is heavy and bulky
Man $400 seems steep when you think about it it’s just a modified saddle platform. Could use a small climber platform n put the piece from a platform on the back of it.
Thanks for checking out the video
You should always tether the platform to your body in some way, there will be a time it will slip off your boots and down the tree
👍
@@seansoutdoors then you just repel down and retrieve it....but I see what your getting at
Now add the JX3 and you’ll lounge like a king for your all day sits
Awesome
Can you remove the foot aider?
Yes but you’d need to unscrew the piece that holds it on
Great video. I love the idea, but the price is steep! Great looking product though.
Thanks for watching!

$399.00. Feels like a gouge.
Thanks for sharing

Probably a lot easier for those bigger companies to to produce at lower costs due to volume and production etc…
Please know that eventually you will lose that stand under your feet and it will fall to the base of the tree. I would have it tied in or better yet use a repel line.
Enjoy it.
Hate to tell you u did the cam over wrong . Strap goes above the belt . Great video other wise.
I’ll try it that way next time but it sure seemed to hold it well the way I did it. Have you tried it?
@seansoutdoors I have not tried it that way but if you watch their video they show you the the way they want you to cam it over
Wonderful review, Sean. Thank you!
Thanks
I have a quick climber
👍
Great review!
Genesis 27:3
Thank you!
I tried that with my Lone wolf climber platform using my tether and saddle, it wasn't as easy as you make it look.
Well, I guess you can say I have a lot of practice hahaha
Seems like an awesome setup but for the life of me i cant see how they justify the prices of these...its less than half the size of any two piece climber and twice the cost. I guess your paying for light weight and convenience. Profits must be good for these.
Well, I guess that would be a question for the manufacturer because o don’t know the ins and out on that detail.
You have to factor in that this is a small company and probably a lot of labor cost, the larger the company the more you can streamline and buy in larger quantities to help drive down the cost, or have it made in china.
Never felt comfortable climbing trees. Just a pain in the ass and just dangerous. Been very successful ground hunting. Too each their own
👍
