Lost my Dad on Jan 2, 2025. We always watched this together. Even if I wasn't around when the episode came on, he would wait until I could watch it with him. Don't think anyone tears up seeing this, but I did.
I thought this was one of the darker books, especially in the descriptions of how some of the characters were killed off, so I was surprised when they said they were doing this one next. Wonder if the details of those kills will be left out of the series or if they stick to it.

The Persuader is probably my favorite of the Reacher books, I'm excited to see how they've adapted it, looks pretty faithful all things considered. Had some pretty good moments and a decent 'twist' that I think will be fun in the season if done right.
I hope Olivier Richters gains more traction and does not always have to play a henchman, he is quite talented and mobile for a 7'2 guy. Very rare for a man of his size.
As a strongman fan, idk about the acting talent part but plenty of people would be shocked at how fast and agile guys nearly 7 foot tall can be. Hafthor, Brian Shaw, Tom Stoltman. Big, fast people. But the guy in the show is meant to be pretty fast so I look forward to it
It's not talent that is rare for a man of his size, it's that there is not many man of his size in the first place that makes talented giant like this rare.

There was no Neely in the books. There was a Nagley, but no Neely, and the fact that it was just Reacher in the books made them what they are. I loved season 1, despite the changes, hated season 2, but have some hope for season 3.
There’s other actors that would have been better but he brings a certain element to it that I enjoy. Book Reacher is still bigger and described as having hands the size of dinner plates. Kevin Durand, imo, would have been the better fit for the role at 6’6” 250 lbs. exact height of Reacher in the books. As opposed to Ritchson being 6’2 240lbs.

Like in most things, as something grows new elements arise that lose that sense of realism. With that said I enjoyed season 2, and season 3 looks to be closer in scale to season 1 so a good direction in my opinion. Buy hey thats just me lol
