- From Season 5 Episode 4: The Rescue
Dominique visits her Aunt Bessie who knew her as Millie Cox before she became wealthy and took up the name Dominique Deveraux. Both women are delighted to see each other again. Dominique asks for her aunt for her late mother’s truck which contains things about her humble beginnings, including an old photograph of her mother.

Diahann Carroll was one of the most beautiful woman of color this world has ever known... ❤❤❤
@@Resolution1on1 You’ll be happy to know that her scenes as Dominique are in a playlist entitled “Dynasty: The Dominique Deveraux saga”. Just look for it on my UA-cam channel and more clips are on the way for entertainment purposes.
She was a stunner in any decade and by any standards of beauty.
Beautiful period!
Correction: most beautiful women ever
@@JessicaLanearoh my yes, absolutely lovely woman
This is why I love Diahann Carroll!! She brought a whole new meaning to black girl magic! May she and Virginia Capers continue to RIP.
And let us not forget Virginia Capers, the original Raisin in the Sun on Broadway
Diahann Carroll's beauty and innate elegance, whether onscreen or off, remains unparalleled for the ages! 😍😍😍
Uncle Phil"s Mother on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air!
played by iconic actress Virginia Capers who did a lot of work in theater.
She played in Lady that sings the blues as the mother of Diana Ross.
Whitley Gilbert's mother on A Different World.
Corey Baker's mother on Julia
@@DCMae Yes, and dressed beautifully in both roles. Wardrobe and makeup always immaculate!
She is decked in that outfit! 😊
She killed it Every Day.🫡💅🏽
Neiman still sells those wraps
From "Millie" to "Dominique"; now that's a flex.

The aunt is beautiful ☺️ too
Gorgeous Neighborhood!!
Ikr? I would take that over a house on the Hill any day. At least you know your neighbors. js
❤❤❤
Aunt Bessie is played by Virginia Capers, who appeared as the mother in The Golden Girls episode where Dorothy's son married the African-American lady.
I recognized her and her voice !
@BlancheDubois A much younger Virginia can be seen in a Daniel Boone Season 3 episode where Daniel & Mingo help a group of runaway slaves.
@BlancheDubois A much younger Virginia can be seen in a Daniel Boone Season 3 episode where Daniel and Mingo help runaway slaves.
She was also the choir teacher at the beginning of What's Love Got to Do With It.
She also played Uncle Phil’s mother on “The Fresh Prince”.
Fun Fact: That was a photo of Diahann Carroll's real mother that "Dominique" was holding. 😊
I loved the fact that Dominique didn't forget her Roots. It was heartfelt seeing her reunited with family. (Outside glamorous confides of Denver)
And still went back and stood her ground with BLAKE, who eventually came to love his sister.
Those are my beautiful people right there.
It’s been so long since I watched Dynasty 👵🏽
@@Ceme612 I’ve got plenty of clips and playlists of Dynasty for you to watch for entertainment purposes. I even made playlist for the special 3-part pilot that started it all. And there’ll be more scenes in the near future.

Both of them. Ms. Capers was always a Study in Class and Dignity.🫡💜
DC is stunning!!! I always want her clothes after watching these short scenes! ❤ I need that cape and hat!!!❤
1/31/25 Diahann Carroll 🕊️✝️
Virginia Capers 🕊️✝️also played the choir director in What’s Love Got to do with it, Uncle Phil’s Mom on Fresh Prince.
Both ladies equally talented and I appreciate them sharing their gifts with the world.🥰🫂
It was a different time back then..❤️🕊️

AH MISS CAPERS FROM LADY SIGNS THE BLUE'S FROM 1972. GIRL. HAVE MERCY.
She felt safe. Like snuggled in a football cradle of your nurturer. A place to lick your wounds
Very touching moment ❤
2 Icons👑👑💜💜
Thee good ole days🎉🎉🎉
Why was Ms. Devereaux dressed for a Blizzard while it was Summer from the looks of the clothes of Momma and the neighborhood kids?
😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
I noticed that too 😂
Stunning
Dynasty is on Pluto TV 24/7 on it's own channel but I have missed this scene! Can anyone tell me the exact episode as in season number and episode number and episode title this is please? This was very touching. I had no idea Dominique went back to her northern Colorado neighborhood where she grew up; had no idea she was originally named Milly, etc. And yeah this is clearly a nice suburb not a slum or bad part of any city. It does give the vibe of a 1950's early 60's neighborhood in a quiet suburb. But this was the 80s! Those kids would most likely be playing Nintendo in their homes :) lol but I guess even in the 80s you could still find children playing on the streets before it got dark and it was time to come inside the house.
@@evavidal-w5z This scene is from Season 5 Episode 4: The Rescue.
Looking at this DECADES LATER and now much older..one question..if Millie became the rich Dominique..WHY DIDN'T YOU GO BACK AND PULL AUNT BESSIE OUT OF THE HARD WAY OF LIFE SHE OBVIOUSLY WAS STILL IN?
Wasn't Dominique supposed to grow up dirt poor? For a poor family that house looks like a mansion and the yard is huge with really well-kept lawn. Is it how poor neighborhood in Northern Colorado looks like?
I don't know the storyline but she might not have been raised in that house. It is her aunt's house, so she might have visited her aunt a lot but she might have lived somewhere else.
Didn't Virginia Capers also portray Billie Holiday's mother in 'Lady Sings The Blues?'
What season is it? CUZ Ms. Carroll is perfectly minked out and everybody else is walking around in short sleeves.
@@creolenola Season 5 Episode 4: The Rescue from the original Dynasty.
🤔I was thinking the exact same thing 😂🤣they screwed something up damn have me all confused but then again rich people wear stuff like that all year round to keep people from stealing it.
Lynn Whitfield makes more sense, now. She borrowed many manuerisms and nuances from Diahann.
I thought she said "I need help, my mother's drunk"
@@membear Actually, what Dominique said was “My mother’s trunk”, which is a key factor to her storyline.
Did she leave under 5 years old?
Julie and Momma Porter

How u not kno yo own niece
@@CarlJames-r7g She didn’t recognize her niece through her fancy clothes.

@@vukjovanovic1063 I created a playlist of her character Dominique Deveraux. Look for it on my UA-cam channel. And there’ll be more clips soon for entertainment purposes.
Why Jody no neighborhood went down do low
Time traveling ain't new
From Millie to Dominique - she must have stopped off in LA at some point and learned how to be a phoney.
With all her money Dominique didn’t give back or visit her family?
that's what i was thinking...although if that neighborhood is their idea of slumming it I guess they didnt need it.
