    Finally a tutorial that’s really helpful! I’ve checked lots of tutorials for One Legged Crow, but this is by far the best and more clear explanation. Now I know it’s normal to fall out in order to increase strength and to feel more comfortable with shifting one leg in Crow Pose. Thank you!

    Thank you Breathe and Flow, I learnt this pose from your video but everytime I do this I get bruises in my arms where I rest my knees, so I want to practice this regularly but the bruise is so painful I have to wait until it recovers and then it's like starting all over again!

    I didn't know this was a thing, but now I must learn! I am falling when I lift my knee just like you said, but at least not instantly!! Are there any core exercises in particular that would help me get to this stage? Thank you 🙏

    I’ve been trying to figure out this pose for awhile. I just want to know when I bring my knee to my chest to try and keep it there, what muscles should I be engaging? I’ve been trying to figure out why I’m falling.

    Do you feel someone who doesnt have a teaching certificate can have a successful youtube channel based off experience?

    • @BreatheAndFlow
      @BreatheAndFlow  4 роки тому +3

      Yes, they can have a successful channel and unfortunately, there are many channels like this out there (for example 'yoga with adriene') that teach yoga even though they aren't registered with Yoga Alliance. Very disheartening for us but the yoga world can be quite unregulated. When teachers teach without holding this YA certification, we feel this is very dangerous as there is no formal training on functional anatomy, philosophy, sequencing, methodology, bodily differences, etc... To us, it's unethical and dangerous to teach based off self practice/experience. If a yoga studio hires someone that doesn't have a YA certification, then they have other reasons for hiring them. Think of it as visiting a dentist which has only learned from practicing on their own and watching videos on youtube, would you give yourself into their hands? Thank you for bringing up the topic. We encourage you to check the credentials of your 'favorite' youtube teachers and research it yourself 🙏❤️

    • @truthseeker1203
      @truthseeker1203 4 роки тому

      Breathe and Flow thanks for the reply! I do feel it could be dangerous, however in my opinion yoga can be dangerous even for me who follows youtube videos to learn. Also if you think on it, yoga practitioners who carried the practice from generation to generation all taught by experience and didn’t have a “degree or certificate” like so many professions in the modern world require. While I agree with you, a good example would be, would I rather learn to be an car mechanic from a school, or someone who has been working on cars hands on their entire life? Id pick hands on. While I do feel you guys may have learned quite a bit from your yoga teacher training, I still feel that the real bulk of your knowledge comes from self practice. I guess someone who has truly practiced and applied hands on experience vs someone who had only done it for a few weeks would be better. Love your videos and do your tutorials all the time! 🙏

      it is absolutely a combination of both but in yoga, where you literally make bodies move it is so dangerous to injure people. which is very common. through your own practice you discover the mindfulness aspects and insights into life, which can be shared by anyone of course. we're always sharing what we practice. but as soon as you start instructing people to move people in a certain way it is getting dangerous. what works for you in your body does not necessarily work for another person. if you're teaching group classes, like we did, you have 60 people in your class all with injuries, different levels of strength, restrictions and just "life" and for that to be able to safely guide a group this big you absolutely need to learn what is behind teaching, which as a student you really don't get insights to. yoga is traditionally taught 1:1 from teacher to student, where all of it from above can be considered and modified. nowadays as you see we have online classes where we cannot even see you or group studio classes in which we can at least take care of the individual and modify based on their needs. we don't think practicing only online is great, especially in the beginning it makes sense to have 1:1 classes with an experienced teacher and attend group classes. at some point you can continue doing your own practice only but we always recommend starting in a studio and with 1:1 to ensure you get the most out of it in the safest way. we understand that this is not an option for most people on this platform which is why we offer so much online for all levels.

      @truthseeker1203 4 роки тому

      Breathe and Flow Well I definitely agree, as far as classes go. My girlfriend and I made the choice before all this lockdown stuff happened about 4 months ago to start practicing yoga every day. We didn’t really have the option of a 1:1 class so of course we took up youtube, and we have learned so much. Your videos as well as other youtubers have helped us so much. I really enjoy my at home practice and the freedom it brings me. I do definitely feel some people (without an athletic background) should start 1:1. I guess another question I have is what is the best most affordable way to obtain your teaching certificate? I get some places giving me a $2,000 price tag and I really would love to teach people and learn more about my own practice.

      Breathe and Flow how about My Vinyasa Practice based out of Texas? They offer a 200hr or 300hr training online. You can also do 500hr (combination) training. They are accredited through Yoga Alliance, have one on one sessions through zoom. 10 months $75 a month, or 15 months $50 month. Or $375 paid up front in full (half off). Do you feel like thats a good deal? I understand itd probably be better to do in person, but I really am motivated to learn and online is my only option. Would I be looked down on in the yogi community? Thoughts? Thanks!
