I rarely give a thumbs-up without seeing some metalwork. Never a problem with your restorations. You have been faithful in removing damage and casting flaws. Thank you.
the more I watch your channel the more convinced I become that a system is REQUIRED when it comes to restoring something. it doesn't matter what the system is but you need to put things in an order that you can pick them back up and reassemble them. I don't plan on restoring anything anytime soon, but I do so love to tinker with things and now you have me thinking about my system
Haha, yeah there’s a system. But there’s a huge difference between a system in restoring and a system in restoring and filming. But in any case it isn’t magic. Make yourself a good plan and pictures BEFORE restoring, and don’t rip a finger off 😉
I sometimes thought filming started as a mean to document before the restoration, to know what goes where during the deassembling… Is it the case or did you have a totally separate system for both filming and restoring ?
I have always wanted something like this to set my woodworking saws instead of having to use a punch and a hammer!! Incredible restoration as always, Mr. Patina! Love the paint job!
Wiedermal ein super, schweres, Video 👍🎖️hinbekommen! Hast du, für die Filmerei, einen Helfer? Dann auch ihm / ihr ein großes Lob 👏🏼 Macht weiter so und bleib gesund! Michael
I recall a small manual version used with a vice and a punch, did all of one way then reversed for the other. It was pretty tedious using that jig though. This one would be great!
I have a saw tooth setting device from the 1800's that works fine on smaller teeth, I made a massive 3 point rip saw and needed something to set those teeth, made it out of a sheet metal clamp and some scrap steel. BTW, you bend those hardened teeth, the tips will snap off, just like his did.
@@SunnnyDay I don’t remember folks normalizing the blades before setting them, but might work. Retemper after setting? Maybe it’s worse with high carbon steel, or steel alloys. Well, if you have to weld a new tooth on, that will temper it for sure.
Fantastic. All the things we love ( many parts, sandblasting, respray and cold bluing) then you add some cheeky vacuuming! The dowel in the handle scene ..... ☺🤣
*Now this is a great wee machine to do a mighty job. Thanks Mister Patina for showing us your amazing work, that you do on restoring things back, to how they used to look, when they were first seen in a shop to be bought.*
Lovely restoration. Got a whole lot of my grandfathers saws and this vid motivates me to clean, sharpen and restore back into a usable condition. Hope to be able to pass them onto my nieces and nephews - great job
Keep coming across these gems. Like that you use different techniques to achieve different results. What always comes across is the attention to detail. Well done Sir 👏
That is amazing how you restored that saw blade tooth setting machine to working order. It looks much better and it works like a charm too. Great work.
I remember watching my grandfather set the teeth on his handsaws after sharpening them using a much smaller handheld setting tool. With it you did every other tooth from one side then did the other teeth from the other side. This is a much easier machine but not for the average carpenter with only 3 or 4 handsaws. Beautiful restoration as usual. The end result is art as well as a tool.
I've seen one at a flea market. I'm fairly certain that they're for enormous bandsaw blades, mostly for sawmills and re-sawing. The one that I have seen was navy surplus. I'm more certain that these didn't come from the factory looking nearly so nice! A real museum piece!
I’m gonna be honest here there are a small handful of restoration channels that I really like and this is one of em you guys have spoiled me rotten with the way you make your videos 10/10 keep going 👍👍
😮 This is a very Cool machine. I don't believe I've ever seen a Tooth Setter before. Its Always a Great Day and Job the way you do all this rework to make it work like new so that we may see it work. Thank you for sharing.😊 I Love it
Yep awesome just like the first video of yours I watched !! Your attention to detail is amazing !! I love how it works !! Outstanding work on a wonderful machine !!
What a lovely restoration. Your filming of this was so clear and you could see everything. Storytelling was spot on too, Mr. P. Thanks for sharing this.♥
That was fantastic!!! On two fronts 👉👉👉. First, it's always so rewarding to watch your work Mr. Patina dude. You always do such a lovely job if it 👏👏👏. Second, it's so interesting and pleasing to see the inner workings of a very complex little piece of kit that performs a fairly simple task. Most folk would just break out the pliers. But someone somewhere at sometime put the thought into this a machine. Brilliant 👊👊👊. Thanks man. Lots 🙏🙏🙏. 😎
🎉😮. Mis respetos, señor!! Saludos desde Irapuato, Gto - MÉXICO.
it's an amazing tool I've never seen before. I wish you spent some time explaining (showing) how the settings work? Like where do you set the distance in between the teeth and how does the mechanism do it. It's difficult to understand everything from the fleeting images of details. But overall great job, thank you for the video!
I hope you enjoyed the video! Follow me on Facebook, Instagram and Patreon!
Love you guys! ❤

MM restores a car and my Bro Mister P one of the most interesting small machines I've ever seen. Dear diary, today was a good day!
All that’s missing from today is a post from you!!🍺
Agreed!
Not kidding! And another beer review!
And it could have been even better if you just posted every now and then
Okay okay. I will post today. Are you happy now?
I love your attention to detail, even aligning the screw heads, its the sign of a master crafts-person!
Hey man! Iam glad you’ve recognized the details! Thanks for watching!
