Very small correction at 4:42 Both 624H sc 486H & 684H sc 426H can actually have a gap of 12~13f. 486H 12~13f stand~crouch and 426H 12~13f close~max range (basically the asterisks below them apply) A single frame error sorry.
I wouldn’t mind these behemoth buffs if they didn’t give a constant light speed range move that does over a third of dizzy’s health for one bad read or half your health for getting stray hit from 6h
He did not need this. I feel like these changes are aimed at solving issues that GL did not have (like the strength of his conversionability/pressure and mix-up). The 248 range buff alone feels like it was at odds with basic axioms about what the character was designed to be able to do. The cheapness and accessibility of his overheads (a 21~ frame overhead that's also + on block has always been a luxury that few characters could afford) was supposed to be counterbalanced by lows that were all short range, and either reactable (624) or relatively low reward (248, 2k). Now that he can 248 from almost anywhere and still keep the corner, his power to open you up has vastly increased when he already had some of the best block pressure in the game. I really don't know what they were thinking with this one.
Yeah he truly did not need Security Cancels, especially when Arc Sys just removed Nago and Anji's ability to combo off their overheads at all when Goldlewis can now SC to combo off 862 without Tension. Though I'm not gonna lie, I'm loving the buff to 248H, it was always relegated to combo filler above Goldlewis, but now the low hit can be used more for blockstring pressure against FD and more usage in combos if the opponent is too low for the high hit.
@@Coil_ Maybe in a vacuum I would be better able to appreciate the range increase on 248, but alongside the other changes it just feels like one among too long a list of force multipliers for a character that was not lacking force. If it existed without the benefits of cancels or the bt damage buff, then this patch would feel like Goldlewis lost out in the damage department overall but gained in the versatility of his lows and their conversions. With those two buffs considered, however, he just feels like he opens you up way too easily for too much reward.
