Hi dear friends - as a response to the absolutely overwhelming feedback the first fanmade album recieved, I made a second one, a continuation of that project. I actually made the album art (along with the tracklist, and initial ideas for the illustrations) back in 2018 - but I just could't find the time to finish the artworks and put it all together. But your numerous wonderful comments, that started appearing (mostly) this year, really gave me that final push. I loved reading every single one of them, they made my day and I was so happy, because that was the dream - to get it to the lovely fans who would appreciate it (because I truly believe that Regina Spektor has some of the kindest sweetest fanbase). So, this is my thanks to you, a little gift. I made the illustrations this fall during the #reginatober (art challenge that I held), you can view them all in full on my instagram / hyneksnajdr , sadly I had to crop them for youtube, some of them did really suffer from it.
So, as always, I made all the art, and I also tried my best to clean up the tracks (the live ones) and cut out the talking and venue sounds where I could - though I absolutely love the way Regina introduces the songs, so I actually felt really bad cutting those bits out haha - but I think it helps for the emersion and for it to feel like an actual album. Anyway, that is all from me I think, I hope you will enjoy this very much - I loved working on this.
(One final note, I decided to include the song Dead of Night, and some other songs that people missed on the last album, so I hope this will satisfy them - there are still some cool songs that didn't make the cut, like School Is Out, which I adore, but didn't really fit the story of it. For the title, I again borrowed a line from the song Aquarius this time, and I'd like to think that all the songs do share some similarities of either darkness, hope, but also kindness. Where there is dark, there is always light. Where there is hate, there is always love) This collection containes some of the songs I love the most, like The Virgin Queen, 8th Floor, AB, Dog and Pony, Cinderella... Which are yours favorite?
All songs were performed and belong to Regina Spektor. The live recordings belong to the people who took them and after that uploaded to youtube (for all of us to enjoy - thank you!)

Lot of the recordings used come from the Tonic in New York, and were provided/recorded by Henry L., I believe. The other batch of the songs are studio demos. If I forgot to credit anyone please let me know. Thank you!

oh this is wonderful! my mom would always play regina in the car when i was a kid so i've always loved her, but lately i've found myself listening to her more and more. it feels like every day i'm discovering new songs of hers :) when i saw this video in my recommended i got so excited. your illustrations are breathtaking, and they represent the songs so well. you can tell how much heart was put into this video. thank you thank you thank you for this

I never leave youtube comments, but I've been listening to Regina since I was 12 (a loooong time ago now, almost 18 years!) and am so blown away by the songs on this, most of these are new to me and I'm so grateful. And your illustrations are beautiful!!!
Stay = the new single "becoming alone again". I hope there are even more of these gems being released in the new album

@@hyneksnajdr3758 Makes sense? Some of these unpublished songs are REALLY good. I think maybe only "Soviet Kitsch" is better than that other album you made (which I made a music folder player .mp3 version of, it's just so exceptional.) "Songs" and "11:11"...certainly not "bad" records, but certainly killer songs she wrote were omitted, for some reason? Maybe the reason I think they're good, even (more deranged existential weirdness.)
Five days ago I found this project. From all the songs in it I only didn't know "stay". I was happy I've found a new Regina song after all these years. Yesterday she released it officially as a single for the new album.

I loved this and your other fan made album! The art and the theme was gorgeous. It made me so excited and happy to see you posted another one. I’m listening to this one now and there are so many songs I hadn’t heard before. This is just as good in different ways. Dead of night always reminded me of this one quote that I read several years ago that really stuck with me. It’s “I cannot walk through the suburbs in the solitude of the night without thinking that the night pleases us because it suppresses idle details, just as our memory does” but Jorge luis borges.
I know what you mean, I believe I have everything Regina has released (and more) but I am SO THIRSTY for more Regina Spektor. NO words, really.

Thank you very much! I spent a year of my life like more than ten years ago listening to recordings of live versions of these very same songs (and the ones on your previous projects).
I believe that Regina shaped a little bit my way of seeing life, love, time, death (etc) with these lyrics, because I was like maybe sixteen at that time. It is so great to see that people also enjoy these tracks and are not getting lost on youtube holes or whatever.
Joanna Newsom once said "don't ever get so attached to a poem you forgett life lacks lyricism", well, I have to disagree. All these lyrics permeate, describe and contain lifetimes and experiences shared by us all.
I love your artwork and praise the work you did compiling the songs into themed albums.

I believe Bobbing for Apples was released officially, on the Live in London album, so I didn't really feel the need to include it. Plus, if i'm being completely honest, it's that one song I am not too fond of.
