Cooper got the news that he was a grandfather, and immediately afterwards the news that his grandchild had died. Imagine that feeling so heartwrenching
In my opinion, this is the best movie of all time. I’m kind of a space nerd, astrophysics is one of my hobbies haha. Great cast, great acting, great writing with actual science behind it. Love it ❤
I love the character of Dr.mann(Matt Damon) Because he represents "mankind"😮 You notice how all the other characters before going into space Talk about how Doctor Mann is this great leader, Great scientist, great man And when the crew "rescues" him all he does is think about himself Does horrible things to get away with it And even tries to justify it because he was "tested"😮 Human beings have the ability to be great or to be cowards And that is what Dr.mann Represents😮
Christopher Nolan killed it, Matthew McConaughey killed it, Hans Zimmer killed it and everyone involved in this movie killed it. Absolute phenomenal movie
I went to school for Animation. I always dreamed of working at Disney or Pixar. I love acting, and acting analysis and amazing performances. So many similarities between animators and actors! So I love hearing your perspective and your channel!
Having personally watched dozens of reactors watching this movie since its my favorite movie of all time, i can tell you, you have the best reaction i have seen of this movie, you are smart and understand the premise of the movie before it happens, i can tell from the reactions i have seen from you that you understand how writers and actors work. i can say you are one of my favorite reactor i have watched. Nobody i have watched understood twists of the movie like you did, and your raw and honest reaction was so refreshing.
@9:45 - The idea that the Moon landings were fake is personally offensive to me. I'm a space systems engineer, and when I started my career at Boeing, the more experienced people I worked with had worked on the Apollo program. The original documents were still on shelves in our office area. If anyone is curious about the subject, feel free to reply here or contact me directly. @27:40 - I didn't get the option to go to space, but my signature and fingerprint did. I worked on the space station program. One of the jobs was software test. The whole station was never in one place on the ground, just the individual modules. So we had a software test lab next door to the clean room where the actual hardware was. We had to simulate all the parts that weren't there in order to test the real parts that were. That meant running cables from our lab to the clean room. We were supposed to use gloves, but one time I left my fingerprint on one of the control computers that went to space. Everyone who worked on the project got a chance to sign a side panel of an equipment rack that went to space. It's not visible in orbit, but our names are there.
WIRED magazine did a special issue release about this film and its topics and after seeing this in theaters I practically ran to the store to buy a copy! I read that thing front to back!! 🤩
Saw this in IMAX opening weekend it was one of the best theater experiences of my life. 10 yr anniversary of this movie is being released for a week back in theaters in December
You know... I like how movies have mystery, and their sudden reveal is always so fun to watch. But you, Colette... you are too sharp. I brace myself to be disappointed that there will not be any magical reveals. However, the disappointment is easily washed away with how well you dissect clues and predict the future. You are stunning, smart, and all around very interesting package that you share with us all. Well done. Thank you for the watch, as always.
"We used to look up at the sky and wonder at our place in the stars, Now we just look down and worry about our place in the dirt." One of the best quotes of Nolan's movies
Legit my favorite movie of all time, love Christopher Nolan, beautiful movie, and hanz zimmer my facorite modern composer, breathtaking soundtrack and yeah as someone else said in the comments, Dr. Hugh Mann (Human) (Matt Damons character) is a great character, to represent humankind the selfishness of ourselves, knowing we can be saved at the press of a button, that it takes really a genuinely gret person few of a kind to give their lives for the betterment of humanity.

It is worth noting that INTERSTELLAR was the first Matthew McConaughey movie to come out AFTER he won the Best Actor Oscar. McConaughey won for DALLAS BUYERS CLUB (2013), where he plays an AIDS patient (both he and Jared Leto won Oscars for that movie, with Leto winning Best Supporting Actor). Worth watching for sure.
What a wonderful reaction Colette. I hope you've managed to see it now in IMAX. I was fortunate to see it in IMAX in London just a couple of weeks ago and it blew my mind.
After watching this movie so many times I realized its circular. The ending causes the beginning by allowing Cooper to send coordinates to his past self through a black hole, which kickstarts the mission
This is quite possibly the most beautiful Sci-fi film ever made: if it doesn't hit you hard in the feels, you're not human! - but as great as this film is across the board, it's made a 1000 times more epic by the amazing score by Hans Zimmer, the music's a character in it's own right & among his finest work! Apologies if you've already seen them, but if not then I'd recommend 'Sunshine' (2007) and 'Arrival' (2016) - both great Sci-fi gems! 😊❤
Colette: This looks like it's going to be a great reaction, with commentary not only on experiencing the movie, but about the script and acting and production techniques. So I shut it off! That's because I'm heading over to Patreon tonight to subscribe and watch the full length reaction instead!🎬
The blight causes plants to die, but not through suffocation. The die-off results in reduction in oxygen generation through photosynthesis, so oxygen in the atmosphere gradually decreases as it is consumed.
Sometimes I think this whole movie was all an attempt to show, in a digestible way, what it would be like for our passed away parents to hear our prayers.
I watched this 1 month ago for the first time, while in the plane flying to Japan. Ofc I had heard the music before but man I did not expect the story to be equally as good, if not better. I did not expect this from a movie I randomly decided to watch to pass time like that in a plane on a whim, that could have been any other. And the funniest part is, the very next movie I watched references Interstellar. It was one of them Thor movies
If you like Christopher Nolan films, You HAVE to watch Inception. One of my all time favorite movies. Watch Oblivion with Tom Cruise as well. Great science fiction film!
1:08:08 yeah Murph did "solved" it (she didn't, she just got it solved by tars/Cooper). They could send those huge ships becouse thats what the equation was for, harness gravity. Only because of that, they could ship people out of earth. That was plan A
27:39 if given the option to go. Realistically i don't have the skills to be part of a 1st wave but i would love to be like a 2nd wave colonist where there are facilities established and they need tradesmen
The gravity problem was figuring out how to get the space stations built on Earth off the planet to Saturn. That would enable humans to eventually go to the new planet. Murph figured it out with the data from her dad and TARS so Plan A is a go.
What?!?! So funny when you say that. Great assessment of the movie so far. I have officially watched Interstellar over 70 times and have watched every reaction to it on UA-cam… some of them dozens of times. I am a movie fanatic … looking forward to the rest of the movie with you. PS - ARRIVAL
Based on current trends, an advanced climate change induced ecological breakdown like "the Blight" depicted in the film could occur by the late 21st, early 22nd century. The technology featured in the film, used clandestinely by Cooper and NASA, featuring advanced AI robots, cryo-sleep chambers and space shuttles also fits with this time period.
This movie kills me. Anything that involves a father and daughter just destroys me. I have three daughters, and it’s hard to watch movies like this without imagining being in the shoes of the characters.
I could have sworn that you already reacted to Interstellar, since I think I've watched every reaction of this movie on YT. For me this is the best movie of all time and I watch a lot of them. *Can't believe you wouldn't go to space 😆 . Small number of people can say thru all time, statistically you have a higher chance of becoming a billionaire than going to space, that's living.. *I met a girl that went out of the cinema because this movie was boring to her. Don't know what's been of her since then 🤷♂ *You look hot af more so liking this work of art :D, even with that shirt with that word..😆 *Hans Zimmer is the GOAT. * a lot of asterisks.
I'll subscribe before i even watch it... For one month you watch my top 3 favorite movies ( Hacksaw Ridge, Schindlers List, Interstellar) + bonus Gladiator.... Amazing job!!!
Fantastic movie! 10/10. But... I will NEVER understand why they went down to Miller's planet. They knew of the time-slip beforehand. There is no data to be had since Miller only maybe recorded hours of it. Cinematically I TOTALY understand it, the waves, years of messages etc. But there should have come up with a better reason...
Interesting how this movie was made before the current situation where you have governments attacking farmers and destroying farmland. Not difficult to see who the real problem is.
13:21 I feel that way about driving. Everyone in my family drives because they have to, so they get scared of what might happen with other drivers *coughs* ME! *coughs* but no one taught me to drive, I just get behind the wheel of my little orange Corolla and I feel like Ken Miles in Ford Vs Ferrari (Great Movie highly recommend) And Keiichi Tsuchiya of Inital D inspiration 🏎💨
by overanalyzing the script you forgot to actually watch the movie. if you wouldve just listened, the movie wouldve explained it..instead you kept talking every 5 minutes and and had to go back to scenes to "get info"...this is really "hard to watch". i would suggest you keep your comments short, focus on the movie and discuss and analyze it afterwards. edit: at the beginning youre getting it all wrong, about the timeline, the comments of the old ppl, and the blight... another sign that youre not truly listening. im sad colette, youre usually doing way better. i fear you should watch it again, maybe youll understand then that plan A did work in the end!
Wishing you well on your acting/scriptwriting journey Colette 🤍🤝🤝🤝 This film flattens me every time. There's been better written screenplays ofc but the plot and ideas here stands head and shoulders above everything else that's come before it according to me at least lol

Fun fact: Christopher Nolan shoot almost every movie in IMAX. This is also in my opinion the Nolan film with the best soundtracks

This is the reaction we've been all waiting for!!
The theory that LOVE transcends, space and time.. beautiful
Next, watch “Oblivion” (2013). This one will floor you too!

Colette, I recommend Matthew McConaughey again in Tropic Thunder. That movie will cheer you up.
with how many great roles this man had, its almost a shame to recommend this one hahah

“Don’t be afraid” *screams*
one of Nolan’s best jokes he put in a movie
High IQ beauty. You’re the best at this, Colette.
After watching this movie so many times I realized its circular. The ending causes the beginning by allowing Cooper to send coordinates to his past self through a black hole, which kickstarts the mission
When he said, "Don't make me leave like this," he meant he did t want to leave on that note with her. Her angry at him.
For further exploration of the subtleties of filmmaking and cinematography, I suggest Anon and Road to Perdition.

The dust was made with ground up cardboard. They built the farmhouse in Canada and planted 500 acres of corn to get all those shots.
