Aw that’s beautiful...sorry for your loss Michelle
Thank you, Nate
@@natelivas3961 thank you
Capitol was a great venue
Clearly your sister was fucking awesome.
Lou Reed always knew to have a good bass player. Well done, Mr. Saunders.
fr that guy was the mvp in this concert
I was at this show. And a helluva show it was!
I am chilling out in the garage to this... Kids running around the yard being kids .. just enjoying the beauty of this performance... Time is standing still...this song is nothing short of perfect.
Lou Reed is an awesome singer and songwriter 🎉🎉. His music 🎶 🎵 will be his legacy 🎉🎉
I met Lou in an alley once; beside the stage door an old theatre in Dublin one lunchtime. Ecstasy tour just me n him I asked him to sign my newspaper and he does it on the accident insurance advert spot on the back! Steps back inside and fetches me two VIP tickets 😎 all the while the dude never said a word!
That sounds so Lou.
GOOD HUMAN BEING!!
Around the time Lou got pretty much sober. Hes having so much fun here. Awesome
My favorite Lou Reed tune- It does't get any better than "Sweet Jane" RIP Lou.
Me too
Me too, too
Para mim é mais uma das favoritas.
For me, it gets better if it included the intro. I only saw Lou once in 1974 after appreciating Rock n Roll Animal as a 14 year old. They started with Intro/ Sweet Jane and it was identical to the album. AMAZING. would love to see a version of Intro Sweet Jane on You Tube of this calibre, but cant find it. I saw the Paris 74 version of Sweet Jane, but the heavy domination of Keyboards destroyed the song
This my favorite too.
the fretless bass is at the heart of the Lou Reed sound
That fretless bass adds so much backbone to this version.
It sure does. There’s a similar version recorded at The Bottom Line (with Fred Myer on drums). Fernando Saunders is cookin’ on that one as well.
Lou's timing and delivery are lethal, not to mention his slick groovy guitar skillls.
Can you but love the man.
Sweet Lou and sweet rock'n roll.
Best fucking version hands down
Three notes, a masterpiece... Forever....
four actually
Yes it is 4 my good sire, he goes:
D A G, B A D
Dagbad is where its at maaan.
Louis's jazz period
Lols
hey yo to lou reed fans out there , man , r.i.p. lou reed im so sad about that , man he was genuine , true , gentleman i love this version of sweet jane love ya reed , jj
Bloody brilliant. As a teenager I just loved Velvet Underground...Lou...Nico....all of them
Me too. I was about 9 when Jackson Mississippi got a great album rock station, and Lou and the VU were early staples of the playlist.
Absolutely!
Here's to all the hippies still standing for what's right rich poor middle class.... 420 forever rip lo u
My personal favourite version, the crowd is in a trance, priceless!
The boy on the drums is fantastic!
_anyone whose had a heart, their not going to turn around and break it, anyone whose played a part, their not going to turn around and hate it_ *SWEET JANE*
Johmathan .B. Swift he was a walking poem in his mind and spirit. Rest In Peace to this rock legend we lost a couple years ago.
baby jesus you should be ashamed of yourself for talking like that. You have an image to uphold
...baby Sweet Jane.
God wept.

walked there to see the show from paterson, best walk i ever took
And calmly, cooly standing off to the side in his shades is the criminally underrated, barely recognized Robert Quine. A fantastic guitarist out of Akron, Ohio who broke through back in the day with Richard Hell and the Voidoids. Rolling Stone magazine listed him in the top 100 greatest guitarists. RIP Robert and thanks for the music.
and died of an overdose, what a loss...
Sempre e x sempre Grandissimo. Nostalgia del tempo passato. Ringrazio x aver vissuto quegli anni e aver potuto ascoltare questo immenso artista.
Simple guitar riff that can go on forever and never gets old.
Ex ept when it was reused for Last Great American Whale...and the lyrics did not fit.
My favourite version of Sweet Jane
This is the Soundtrack of Life. Never gets old.👌🏻
OMG! 1970s Lou Reed! Felt Forum. NYC. One of the best concerts I've ever been to... you can hear me whistling in the background.
and I went to dozens of concerts on the 70s. Zeppelin, Who, ELP. CSN, Bowie, Stones, Allman Brothers, Yes, so many more I can't mention.
This is the best version of this song in my opinion and what a great concert this is in full show of
Lou Reed
Yes, I like it so much but I prefer the version he sang in 1974...his appearance was suggestive, he looked like an alien from the future and another planet
I love the groove but my favorite version is the 1993 Velvet version > 1984 version > 1974 version.
right -thanks mate
@@Thibaut63100, Rock n Roll animal version is my favorite
I like the cowboy junkies version. Smoother.

Saw Lou at the capitol theater well before this show. 1984. He was and is still is one of my all time favorite
Brilliant
Thanks
Grande lou redd,su legado ,su musica nos acompanaran por siempre
Great bass
I'm five day's old....and Lou did this....beautiful
Any time I hear it on the radio this songs in my head till I go to bed!
Why can't bands these days not create simple wonderful songs like this ?
Before there was more creative effort to really get a hit. It was very difficult to put your song out because of the scarcity of marketing platforms to market your song. Nowdays as we all know is very easy.
@@Telescope1994 spot on👌
Lou Reed - young , fit and at the top of his game 👍
Great version
Less than 20 years later from its inception Reed re invents his Velvet's own classic. So amazing to see that here.
My family always plays this at our Saturday morning dance party in the kitchen
Can't get enough of this, damn!
From Ohio here and I love me some sweet Lou!
Love Lou Reed music.......and the Capitol! Great place to see a show.
The drummer’s killing it.
The instant reaction. The immediate recognition from the people. Majestic Times. Gone Forever
GreatGreat version...check out Lenny on the sticks, and Lou almost really smiles at the end. Call Lou whatever feels appropro, but he was a mightyfine entertainer.
Saw him perform in 1975. Classic song!
Wonderful!
The man of New York
Never gets old !!
Awww I love sweet Jane and sweet Lou. Rest In Peace genius.
Lou Reed with his Sweet Jane, just skipping and cruising along in the sweep flowing manner
He seems so happy here. Love it.
Hate it in the live versions I’ve seen he never does the yells - ‘anyone who has a hearrrrrt’, ‘anyone who ever played a parrrrrt’. Love that shit!
Sweet Jane and rock’n’roll are my two VU faves.😎🎸
Sweet song!
Props to the bassist. He just keeps that background bubbling!
Fernando Saunders on bass. For me, man of the match. Makes you wanna be a bass player!
Lou, is eternal! RIP, we miss you! Thanks God, for give us these pearl!

As I mentioned, my friends and I shot this at the Capitol. And those odd skyscraper windows, backdrop, were Moyssi's idea. We were low cost but good. Credit where credit is due.
Im old I love this music. It has good rhythm.
that drummer is having so much fun,,,,
probably singing to himself, hey honey, Im in a rock n roll band.......
What it's all about!
WOW!!!!! Kicks Ass!!!, ManyThanx From Costa Mesa Ca!!!! My Dearest Friends!!!!!,?
Uno de los iconos del rock, una las iconicas canciones del rock...y aquellos 20 años con el pelo largo, que ya no volveran....qué pena

DUDE WAS AN ACCOUNTANT...YET STILL ROCKS...helps to be a part of the tribe.
Best live version ever !!!
Sicuro
Cowboy Junkies version is brilliant.
EXCELLENT !!!
We'l always love you Lou Reed.
I see Lou in Genoa, at stadio Luigi Ferraris, Giugno 1980.
Super version...
Best version of this song imo
Sweeeeet Louuuuuu!!!!!
The bassist is like, I'm going to add a new dimension to this song.
Nice song, great times
