I brought this kit myself after reading your blog post a while back. I absolutely love it. I'm not trained either but I also would highly recommend the kit and bluesky polishes! I would love a video on how you remove because that is the only part I struggle with so any tips would be very much appreciated! Love the colours you have used! Thank you for doing this video. I would love to see one on how you remove your gel nails. I have always painted my own and have never had them done at a salon purely because of the cost and having to book in regular appointments etc. However I have been thinking for sometime now about getting an at home gel nail kit because a) I'm not bad at doing my own nails b) it costs less in the long run and c) they last much longer then normal polish (mine normally last between 4-6 days) also you dont have to faff with lots of regular appointments! I have been unsure about which one to get and whether they are any good as its alot of money to spend on something I may or may not use if it doesn't work well. However this video has made me want to take the plunge and buy a kit so thank you! You make it look so easy and I appreciate your honest feedback. Great video X

I definitely need to try BlueSky, especially the copper glitter! Your hair looks especially lovely in this video, Amelia. I have noticed a bit of a lag in your videos and this can be because good editors can actually try *too* hard to perfect the video by blending the frame. It's not a big deal but if it does bother you then you can try downloading a plug in to disable deinterlacing/frame blending xx
+WhatLydDid Hey lovely, thank you, I actually washed it today haha! I think the problem with the lag is actually he playback frame rate, for some reason UA-cam has started playing in lower quality automatically which causes a lag on my videos. Up to anything above 720p and it should fix it! Plus the quality will be better :) xax

In Chile we use the brand blue sky as profesional gel polish is cheaper and the quality is amazing! and they have such a huge range of colors!

You'll do me out of a job, haha!! I charge £25 for CND Shellac btw! I've got that colour on at the moment - it's called Field Fox. You mentioned about not wearing it constantly - CND shellac you can as nails don't breathe (they're essentially dead!) - it's the acetone from removing that can dry them out a bit but so long as you take good care, you should be fine. You've done a good job though - your nails look lovely! Xx
+Deborah's Beauty Treatments still can't beat a good pamper at the salon though :) ah that's handy to know about the nails, lots of oil then and maybe a day's break between to let the nail beds rehydrate would you say?xax
xameliax yes, that's right. I use CND's Solar oil - smells like Battenberg cake! But you can use any cuticle oil - or even olive oil you use to cook with or coconut oil. Just keep them hydrated. & always use hand cream daily xx

I use the same ones as you and cnd as well but I find they don't last very long as they peel to quickly, do you have any tips to stop them peeling. Think I'm doing something wrong 😂😂x
I'd say just to make sure you're prepping properly and capping the ends with colour and top coat :) But I don't have any issues with mine, maybe the polishes need replacing? xax

Nothing too harsh on your natural nails - you need a buffer really xax

It's pretty much the same my love - just make sure you use an orange stick to get off any excess gel from your fingers before curing :) xax

how long do you leave them to cure for?
It depends on which brand of gel you're using. My kit has one setting for curing and it works very well - I think it's about 30 seconds xax
I have a kit as well..not this one though I think mine is the Orly brand and when i'm curing my nails it really hurts! I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

These are NOT gel nails. These are natural nails with gel polish. There is a huge difference.
In the UK (not sure about the rest of the world) but we reference gel cured polish as ‘gel nails’. Maybe you’re referring to nail extensions which are fake nails sealed with gel or acrylic? Or ‘Fake Nails’ which are complete nails glued onto the whole natural nail? Either way we call these gel nails and most people seem to understand :) xax
