Brad Mondo can you please drop a bleaching brown hair 101 or else i’ll risk ruining
it myself
Brad Mondo i’m so early omg 🥺
Brad Mondo just started watching, with great interest🤣 hairdressers are closed here in belgium too...
i cut myself fringe bangs yesterday lol but i think you would be proud.😂 I LOVE UUU!!💜
i’ve been cutting my own hair just cuz i don’t like people💀
Brad: Use point scissors.
Me: Fat blue kitchen scissors it is.
YEEEEPPP! 😂 saamee
did it work out well ?

@@Nihal-wx3th so the cut will look the same (minus some precision) but the REAL damage you're doing is to your ends. all your ends will have blunt trauma and they will ALL split eventually if you do this. trust me, I've done it so many times and always wondered why all of my hair had bad split ends.
just order shears or go buy them. even the cheap ones will work, they just can't be normal scissors. :)
@@nataliew409 What about fabric shears? 🤔
Brad, you're a week late I have already destroyed my hair and my sister's. Now my house has 2 Dora the explorers.
Update: The hair has grown great (thankfully) I will never cut anyone's hair anytime soon.
🤣😭 I'm sure you guys are still cute
I am sorry for you loss
Ahah 😂😂 2 dora the explorers omg
2 does the explorers lmao can y'all add me?
Hahaha..
Thank you so much. I'm a truck driver who found this video quite helpful for my wife. She gets nauseous really easily so she hasn't had a hair cut for quite some time. I tried your methods from this video on my wife and she loves the cut. Thank you so much bud.
this is the sweetest thing i've ever read omg
this is so cute omgg🥺
Now I want a husband 😢
This is so wholesome omg
Get your wife to see a functional medicine doctor. If she's not pregnant but if she is there might also be something to work on.
So nice of you to take care of her this way and think about her needs
Brad, if you see this, for the love of your fans PLEASE, make these but with you wearing the wigs while you’re cutting it, would make it so much easier to follow if you were actually doing what we’re trying to do in your instruction - I’m not gonna detach my head and stand next to it while cutting my hair! 💛
Lol yesss omg exactly!!! That would be a perfect "how to cut your own hair" tutorial video. 👏👏👏
THIS would be awesome.
Not only detach your head, but also detach your eyes for the perspective.
Had to watch several minutes before it became clear that he was going to talk about cutting another person's hair and not one's own.
We need you to do it on a wig on yourself or have a friend there do it to herself & you instructing😊
Brad really said “I know all these idiots are about to be cutting their own hair during this quarantine so I’m gonna teach them how to not make themselves look like trash”
Yes, Thank you Brad!
Lol, I haven't watched the vid yet but I can already believe he says this XD
It’s me, I’m idiots
the fun part is that i want to try this but my hair is already short xdxd
I've been wanting to cut it so bad, too chicken...maybe not now! It's to my lower back!
i feel like he made this because he knows that everyone is going crazy in the quarantine and wants to cut their own hair lmao
You right.
I thought he made that clear? Lol that's exactly why he made this
Yup! I came here to find this comment.
Brad is an angel
I commented the same lmaooo totally
I just wanted to say that I’m not in the best financially stable time and affording going to the salon is pretty hard. So glad I’ve found this video, I gave myself an awesome haircut and I just love it! 💜

Me too..
Good luck 🙌🏻♥️ and I truly hope everything gets better

Brad I’ve used this tutorial 4 times to cut my hair (from big chops to small trims) and it has been wonderful every time! You can’t even tell that I didn’t go to a salon. I’m going to keep doing it on my own from now on! Thank you!
This was my first time cutting my own hair, and I did by myself. It looks home done but I don't really care, it was so long it kept getting wrapped around my arms
@@j-j8984 I have that problem! And then when I'm running it gets wrapped around my neck which can't be safe so it's time
I don’t think this is what he wanted with this turorial, but he took the risk :))
I cut my hair , the way you said, I have fine hair. I'll also try to do that layer .
It's ok, but I want to try to layer again. It is just too wavy and thin. But it looks better than it did. Thanks so much, for sharing. My daughter and I enjoy your tutorial you are very funny.
How much money did you save? They charge way too much.
I wish Brad would’ve done this exact video but on himself in a wig.

Hi Brad I've been struggling with stage 3 cervical cancer since February my hair has taken a toll with going through chemo and radiation lost alot of my length as my hair kept breaking off wanting to cut my severely damaged hair to a Bob but I'm terrified to go to the hairdresser cuz I've had a lot of bad hairdos I followed your tutorial to a tea and I have to say I am amazed at my results you literally have saved my hair you've boosted my confidence I feel like I don't have cancer right now I feel beautiful my hair feels healthy thank you so much
How are you doing?
More power to you!
If youre doing this by yourself with long hair and struggling to get to the back - tie the elastic really tight higher up and then slide it down to your desired length. wayyy easier and helped me so much.

How to cut your own hair: stand behind your own head.
*Decapitates own head to stand behind it*
I think he means without going to a hairdresser and if you arent a professional
He DOES show how to bring sections to front if you dont have any help , just DONT PULL OR HAVE TENSION. LEAVE LOOSE WHILE PULLING TO FRONT SO GET THE SAME EFFECT AS LEFT STEAIGHT DOWN IN BACK..
Meme whoa that escalated quickly
@@starsunmoon30 OKAY THANK YOU FOR THE CLARIFICATION
I had FOURTEEN SECTIONS. You can do this with very thick hair, but you must prep your hair well, use the appropriate tools, and go slow! I have extremely thick 2C hair, and this tutorial happened to work for the shape and style of my hair, which I wear simply layered and parted down the middle.
I followed the instructions to a tee, including straightening first, and I was meticulous, using multiple mirrors at varying angles to ensure the rubber bands were evenly placed across all sections. Because I have so much hair, it took me over 3 hours to take off six inches. Once washed and styled, my waves and curls were beautifully enhanced and the length rested just at my shoulders; it gained a ton of body and shape.
Thank you for this tutorial I’m using for the first time in 2023, Brad! I am so over having so much hair, and with how fast and thick it grows, I can’t always afford the prices I’m charged for having so much hair in the first place. This really helps a ton.
I appreciate your comment! I also have super thick hair and first time I tried to follow a tutorial on youtube it just didn't work for such thick hair. Nice to know this one did work for someone in a similar situation, by just increasing the number of sections by a lot. I was thinking 8 but seeing your comment I'll do more. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your experience and that additional information on how to use this technique on thick hair. I've had some doubts about doing this all on my own but now I might dare it 😊
14 sections?! Wow, im considering doing 5!
I have been using this method for a year myself and my hair turns out perfect every time! Yesterday I cut my hair 3.5 inches and it ended up being a bit over my shoulders. I also bleached the underside of my hair and dyed it bright pink using everything I've learned from Brad as well!!
That's awesome!!! Brad Mondo: Putting stylists out of a job lol
Can I just ask how can you see if the back is in line with the front I’ve put the 4 sections in as shown but I don’t know how far down to pull the ones at the back because I can’t see if they’re level with the front of you know what I mean? X
Will it still work if I do it on wet hair?
@@CassTheReaper Sure but keep in mind as most of us are very slow when cutting own hair, as you progress the hair is drier and drier so it contracts and may end up uneven with wetly cut pieces.
@@CassTheReaper it's unideal because your hair may fall differently when it dries
This has the same energy as "if you're gonna drink, i'd rather you do it in the house"
Brad’s not like other moms. He’s a cool mom.
Anyone else wanna see him do this again but with a wig he's wearing?
Yassss
That's what I thought too!
YAAAASSSSSS!
yes
Exactly!
Found this tutorial a while back and I’ve been following it ever since. I’m not exactly in a position to afford a salon cut, and the cheap walk in salons always shred my hair, so I am super thank for this video.
No, it won’t replace a salon quality cut, but it allows me to keep my hair looking more or less acceptable even when I can’t afford the salon at the time. So big thanks for this tutorial 🙂
I feel you. They charge way too much. I started going to cheaper salons and they just don’t do a good job.
I have reall thin fine hair and it pains me to just go to a salon and have the stylist takes 5 mins to trim my hair and pay the expensive fee. So this is so helpful! You're saving me money. Thank you
You’re not alone. I have really thin hair too and hate going to the salon. I will try this method now
I could not agree more with you guys, I have got super thin hair, and whenever I go to the salon and they go to comb my hair out they always give me pity looks when the hair starts filling up the comb because I shed like a dog in the summer, and then they always try to sell me all these products that will make it look thicker, the entire time not really caring how humiliating it is for me to be sitting in the chair will they want to talk to me for 20 minutes about how thin my hair is and how much of an improvement all of their products can make. Even after explaining to them that I cannot afford all of the products especially since the haircut itself is so expensive, I then have to either tip them for the humiliating overpriced experience, or feel like an absolute jerk for not buying a product or tipping them so I don't want to go back to the salon again later on. One of the easiest haircuts that I have started doing since I first saw his video on them was a butterfly that has been a godsend I have not been to the salon to pay for a haircut for me or my girls, and I get so many compliments on it which is a drastic change from the previous humiliation. The way that the layers of that haircut play with the density and texture, it makes a really big difference. And there are so many videos on how to make texture sprays at home as well, I have found that the flaxseed one is amazing, especially if you add a little bit of Rosemary essential and scrunch your hair a little bit while it's wet, my daughter likes the sea salt one and there's so many other recipes that are super easy and give you that added volume and they have benefits that extend Way beyond that day. I hope you're seeing this or it helps somebody else, because it saved me from rocking wigs or wearing a hair scarf and just buzzing it off because I was so tired of feeling that embarrassment.
I'm sorry for putting multiple comments on this video, but I have seen several videos that you have said multiple times to cut above the elastic to avoid the mess, but in this video you're cutting below, and I'm not really sure how to get that straight down ponytail that's not pulled in a different angle on yourself, so what I ended up doing was taking some duct tape and taping lacombe to the towel rack in the towel rack and then standing up so it would pull it down straight and then tying it, it wasn't perfect and it took a couple attempts but it did work.

This video is 2 years old but I'm happy I found your tutorial. I've damaged hair (home bleaching etc) and my ends were super thin. Ok, I have been to two different salons in the last two months, and they both didnt do what I wanted. I havent been to a salon in 4 years because of this exact same issue. I always cut and color my own hair at home without any issue. I didnt want ANY blonde, I wanted an inch cut off with my bangs trimmed with a darker base and a few lighter brown highlights. I walked out without my roots touched at the first salon and a brassy copper bayalage. I gave my hair a rest for two weeks and went to a different salon to try again. I walked out with an orange base with blonde highlights throughout all of my hair. I waited another 2 weeks and did my own hair at home and guess what, it's what I asked for to begin with now. No stylist has ever been able to keep it simple with me, it's like they get "blonde happy". I wont go back to a salon ever again. My hair was so healthy before and now its dry and damaged.:(
@@readwithchasity3697 Sorry you had to go through that, but it really is a mess out there sometimes and the pricing doesn't help either. I do cut and color my own hair as well. I'm somewhat glad no hairdresser wants to touch my hair tbh because I always worry they'd mess it up somehow
When I go in with curly hair the first thing they do is straighten it and then cut it to suit straight.. as if I can spend two hours straightening every day😭

I can't believe I went through with cutting my hair! I was nervous but I set my hair up exactly as you said and it worked out great! I'm so happy, thank you so much! I found that for me the key was point cutting and getting someone to help me tie the back sections of my hair.
Just used this method to cut my curly hair and it turned out great! I cut it in it's natural state and had to point cut a ton to make sure the ends weren't so chunky, but even with just the initial chop it was surprisingly even. Definitely would recommend!
did you do the layers too?
You should do one on men’s hair, I want to cut my boyfriends hair and not completely make him look like a goof.
Check Julian Solomitas most recent video where Jenna cuts his hair
I've just had to do this to my dh. We had to buy clippers because he likes his clipped and he goes in every 6 weeks to get it done.
He likes a 6 on top and a 2 on the back and sides. It's not bad but could be better. The sides were fluffier than he liked but like I said it doesn't look bad and he said he could live with it until next time. I would like to know how you blend it when your clipping with 2 different sizes.
He told me he's noticed his stylist uses a comb to comb it out and then clips the ends while there still in the comb. That did seem to help blend it but I'd like to know if there's a better way.
sab oh well my boyfriend will not go to the hairdresser. I will make appointments for him and he will not go without me. So I want to try and do it at home so he will follow through.
sab you place your comb vertically & do exactly what he said to blend it .
I do my hubby and all my kids hair and even mine. We don't go anywhere and the few times we have it never turns out good. I have a video of cutting my sons long hair to short but a hair cutting video on hubby sounds like a good idea! And one of when I do mine! 😊

I used you scissors technique to rearrange a few strands of hair, especially in the back where it was "messy" (kind of loops that go outwards etc) and now it's fabulous. You and your channel are so important for this world.
I can’t wait for the “Hairdresser Reacts to At Home Haircut Following Hairdresser Tutorial”
that's what i was thinking throughout this video haha
asking for the curly/wavy haired community: could you show us how to do our hair( cut) please
Honestly I think you can use the same technique just don't pull your hair taught, kinda just leave it loose as you tie it
I cut my daughter's hair today 😳 (she's 7 with wavy/curly hair). Turned out better than I thought. Cut it dry, do not pull taut, and cut with the shears at an angle. Do not cut straight across (horizontally). I blended together the cuts with some clippers but could have gone without. Not a professional and last time I cut hair at all was giving/ trimming my bangs in high school. 😰
Curly/wavy is so particular in how you later and shape it I would say you just can't. If you have curly/wavy hair you can wet your hair and comb it straight and probably do the length the same way as this, but I would not touch your layers or shape at home.
You could also straighten it down dry for length as well. Still wouldn't suggest trying to layer or shape it though.
For most curly hair, you don't want to cut it wet because the curls shrink at different rates when dry. It will look uneven.
Yay i did it... and didnt ruin it!! 10. inches gone. so fresh!! thanks for being here with me Brad!!
Thanks for the tutorial! As a mom of 5 and a single income household I don’t really have the time or $$ to spend on a hair cut so I’ve done my own hair for the last 5-6 years and I’ve been looking for a new straight forward way to make a simple hair cut work without all of the trendy TikTok hair cuts that may or may not work. How I cut my own hair: IT'S SHAVING TIME BOIIISSSS
I’ve deadass used a razor meant for an animal to give myself a side shave so I relate to this lmaoooo
UGHH I WANT TO SHAVE MY HEAD SO BADDDD
I once wrecked my hair with a razor
I have a mohawk so I believe I need to cut my actual hair in a different method than this as well 😂
I want to thank you. This year has been rough financially so I've got back on spending. One of the things i cut was haircuts. Ive been cutting my own hair for a year successfully with the help of this video! Thank you!!!
I always use your tips and I have been doing my hair myself for a little while because where I live I find that the stylists don't do my hair completely correct or how I want it done and when they use shears to thin my hair it ends up Getting tangled more when I wash it. I love your videos and you are always just so happy and smile alot which is how I am and it is refreshing to find someone who loves what they do and loves to share their expertise with others. Please keep it up sweetie. You are wonderful.

Every women in quarantine: well I guess I could use a haircut!

Yup
Christine Cannibal 😂
@@Julia-LArt I might do it, and post the outcome :) check back in a few days hahaha
Is only fair we do this tutorial, film it and post the beautiful failed result so he can react to it. Is our duty as humans kkkkkkkk
brad any other day: DO NOT DO YOUR OWN HAIR
brad going crazy during quarantine: here is a tutorial on how to cut your own hair
Bexo Also Brad: film it so we can do a reaction video when we survive the quarantine beautiful ;)
But he should have worn the wig. So he can feel how cutting YOUR own hair is.
Espeon The Magician That’s true! I want to see him repeat these steps with a wig lol
Someone download it i want it for l8r when deleted
next week: eh, i guess start at the roots. it's probably okay now XD
These videos are a lifesaver my daughter refuses to go to hairdressers. So im self teaching new techniques thank you brad! ❤
I looked at so many tutorials and Brad you are the one I have followed my two cuts the last two years. Your absolutely the best! A Million Thanks 😊
This video could be five seconds long with him just saying “don’t”
I Mack 69 licks
Missed opportunity 😩🤦🏻♀️ smh
he looked like he was in so much pain the entire video lmao
Alannah Ardrey no he not
He posted this 8 months ago, I’ve finally given in, I’m gonna cut my own hair.
I thought I was the only one Lol. Hope your cut turns out well for ya
Girl me too
I feel u... I’ve been putting it off for 9 months, but it’s time🤧
SAME!!!
@@jessicas4345 I saw this video of cutting front layers on scared if it’s gonna grow weird yk?
Thank you so much, Brad!!💛💖 I have had thigh length hair for five years now; my mother never allowed me to 'experiment'--to do so would be a death wish. But, 2 years ago my older sister cut her hair into pixie cuts (she took the blow 4 me😭😭), so I was finally given the freedom to experiment with mine. I followed every step and absolutely LOVE the cut! It's so pretty and makes me feel like a Goddess. AGAIN, TYSM!!🥰🥰
Currently going thru a mental breakdown, so this should be a good idea 👍 crying while cutting my hair is a vibe honestly.
my biggest quarantine flex is having a professional hairdresser as a mom
what are you doing here then
My biggest flex is growing up with a hairdresser mom and aunt who taught me everything 🔥🔥🔥 love it
OMG I WISH AHA
My biggest qurantine flex is being bald
BAHAHA I WISH LMAO
I did this whilst drunk with my reflection in a window and it turned out really good 😂 what stroke of luck is this
I did that SAME thing as well, about a month ago. Haha while mine wasnt SUPER good, I have a lot of length, so it didnt look terrible lol
@@amyaguirre1771 haha thank god for that! Goes to show how good Brad's tutorial is if we both managed somehow 😂🤦♂️
Hahaha yes!! I grew up always chopping my hair off, and my aunt is a hairdresser. She just had her 35 year anniversary last year, so she made me learn the basics. Glad to know it stuck even though I was drunk lmao
@@amyaguirre1771 haha that's so lucky 😂 I'm just lucky for countless UA-cam tutorials 😂 I woke up the next day and had to slowly ease my way to the mirror with my eyes closed.. But it was OK 😂 I'd already done the Brad Mondo fringe previously but decided to do some up slices and half the fringe came off 😂 it's a look. Temptation to shave head is real 🤣
OMG. Hahaha yes the temptation to shave my head is very real. I've done it before, so I mean, what's another time right hahaha
I have wavy hair and decided to try it anyway because im pregnant, my hair is heavy, and my hairdresser isnt open for two more months. Literally did it with six sections and regular scissors. Turned out as great as i couldve hoped for! Thank you
This is amazing. Thank you!!!! I just gave myself this haircut, and I LOVE IT! Ever since my hair guru left the country during the lockdowns, I've spent so much money searching for a good haircut. This is the first time in three years that I actually love my haircut. And now that you've taught me how to cut my bangs, I no longer see the point in spending time and hundreds of dollars on haircuts that are just ok. Thank you!

lmaooo I forgot Americans used fahrenheit before he said it, I really thought girl was gonna heat the hair with the fire of mordor
i spat my juice out reading this comment 😂
I have been blessed with a LOTRs comment
THIS COMMENT HAS ME ROLLING IM DEAD ☠️☠️☠️😂😂😂😂
I can't breathe XD
I’m dying 😂😂😂 one heat to burn them all.
Thanks brad! It worked well. At one point I mixed up my sections and accidentally cut one too short thinking it was another, so I had to adjust all the rest to be a bit shorter as well. But it all ended up working out :^) It feels so good to have gotten rid of the dry ends and have my healthy hair be able to shine through
Brad Mondo........i bow down to you 🙇....i just needed to trim but this technique seriously worked! I'm super happy 😊 with the results. Thankyou❤ PS I did the cut your own bangs a little while back.....and I can say both videos have not failed me! ❤❤
Coincidentally I was just thinking "I seriously need a trim, maybe I should just cut my own hair." This video probably just saved my hair XD
Shyan SAME
Same
Let's do this!! Lol
@@karlis-karla I did it, and it actually turned out well! @shyanharrod on Twitter if you wanna see the results XD
Wow great job!!
Ima do this with a shattered mirror and office scissors because that's just where I'm at in life.
Lol
How did it go?
I laughed so hard at this 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂 pretty sure thats where were all at, ur not alone x
@@keirameetze831 I decided it looked like too much work and ended up doing that unicorn ponytail haircut. Looked really bad at first but great after I touched it up.
Love this tutorial. I started using it during the quarantine and my hair turned out great! Now I use it whenever I want a little trim. Thank you!!!
I can’t believe how well this method worked! I didn’t cut my hair straight because I don’t know how to use a straightener and my hair is pretty curly so I just brushed it out and got it wet. It turned out relatively even and I was able to cut off two inches. Im thinking of cutting off more because my hair is still heavy and I want to try a diy wolf cut on day :)
I think there’s a “hairdresser’s inch” like there’s a “baker’s dozen” 😂😂
5 mins to a tattoo artist is more like 20
@@sadiesue8069 SOOO TRUE!!
Yup😂
2 minutes to a doctor = 30 minutes
Same with vets!!😂
He needs to do this tutorial again but with a wig on his own head, because that looks a whole lot easier than it's going to be for the average person!
Yes to that! :D
Exactly!
YES this would be so helpful!!
more people need to agree on this so he might see the comment
oh yes, i just tried this, it looked so much easier with ms mannequin than on my own head. i also messed up a tiny lil but. So Brad please, put the wig on and film it again
It worked for me 🙂
Today i was about to make an appointment to my hairdresser untill she said she moved into different country 😄.
Anyway, I decided to do my hair by myself, it wasn't the first time, anyway. I found out about this tutorial and followed instructions and it was fastest ever. However I did made some modifications but the basic things i learn and use from this tutorial was way helpful. 🤗
Hey Brad! You’re literally the only person I trust my hair to and I don’t even know you, plus you live in another country. This video literally just saved my hair, I got rid of those dead ends that needed to go, so thank you so much you’re the best 💖💖💖💖 Keep up with the amazing work you do and I hope one day I can meet you and buy the entire x mondo hair care line 💖
My dog was unhelpful. She looked at me like it was straight in back. It wasn't. 🤦🏻♀️
Ha ha...I was thinking how can I use my 2 old dogs with cataracts! 😂🤣
Ouch

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA NOOOO HAHHAHAHAAH
Lol
Lol
This would have been more realistic if you had worn the wig.
That’s exactly what I was hoping for when I clicked the video. So disappointed
He actually explains it well enough that he didn't need a wig.
Santana Vanrooyen yeah but he's demonstrating how you would do it on someone else. Not how to actually do it if you're cutting your own hair. Explaining isn't demonstrating how.
RhomanysRealm He is using the mannequin to show how someone can cut their hair themselves....if they must. 🤣 I’m currently looking to try and fix my first attempt, which looked great in the video tutorial I watched, but sadly failed on my hair. *sigh* 😭
Woah man!
I thought cutting hair just meant getting rid of the length by cutting straight at the bottom.
This tutorial really helped me. I have recently watched quite alot of his videos and I have come to learn quite a lot about hair and cuts and styles
I used to always tie my hair in 2 sections and cut straight at the bottom. Won't say loved that but had to do it someway. But I followed this tutorial's tips and woah it made a difference. My hair isn't so thick and heavy at the bottom anymore and it separates at the ends unlike before. It truly feels like my hair has gone through a good change.
I guess cutting your own hair becomes the norm once you get the hang of it. Makes you skilled at one more thing. Thanks for the tutorial Sir Brad.
And I have also followed your curtain bangs tutorial which is great as well. Just the thing is I cut them a bit short so I have to wait for them to grow but I don't mind that. Thanks :)
