Very nice build. Great looking truck.
Thank you very much Gary 🙂👍
That's cool the 12t motor fitted. Overall not to much to build on this kit, nice there are upgrades included. The body looks great when on the chassis and like how it sits with the ride height. Now for a run :-)
Hi Mal. Yes, there was plenty of room for it, and now I can put the 15t in one of my Hpi Trophy trucks which has a 27t at the moment, so win win 😀 It's raining heavily here at the moment so I won't be running it today, and it's our granddaughters 1st birthday, so we're visiting her tomorrow. I'm hoping to get out next week with it.
'Tis a thing of beauty, Derek - it looks awesome now you have put it all together. The red was a great choice, really popping against the black and chrome. Looking forward to see it go with your big motor! Thumbs up and all the best matey! :))
Thanks Mark. I just hope I can control the 2wd with the 12t Titan motor. It took a while to get used to my Slash which has the same esc & motor. But I can always revert back to the 15t, or even a gyro as Paul mentioned.
Gorgeous built! I deff need to get me one of these
Thank you very much my friend. I have just posted another video of it today.
I've always found that one an odd bit of Kit.... Mostly because it doesn't quite fit into any Niche. 😲 The Buggy type Gearbox - as a rear Axle...
And it's really not quite a KIT! But if a new Guy wanted a recommendation, I wouldn't hesitate!
Derek, this one has always baffled me.... but Sir, you've just made it more attractive as a prospect!!! 😉😎
I even picked on the Body - with its SQUAT Cab. However, I don't know if it's the Colour you chose, but THAT looked better as well.
It kind of looks like an American Trophy Truck Desert Racer... I'm now excited to see her RUN! I suppose I was just looking at it the wrong way.
You make a great Spokesman, Mate!! 👌
Carmine ✈🚂🚙
Hi Carmine. Yes I guess it is a strange one. But as soon as I saw the Pro I loved it's retro style 🙂👍
This one's a charmer!! One's drawn to it, whether you know it or not.
Great bit of kit buddy thanks for sharing mate nice to see you in front the cam again hope
You and family are well
Hi Mark. Thank you very much mate. We are good thanks. Hope you and your family are well too. I expect the little man is growing quickly 👨👩👦🙂👍👍
Very cool. Like those metal skids
Hello mate. Thanks very much for watching. I think the kit version is the best option. You get lots of good upgrades included with it. You don't even get those with the new Pro RTR ! Hope you and your family are all safe and well my friend 🙂👍👍
@@hollyhillrc hahaha... I've watched this a few times to be fair...I'm still in decided as to Wether to get one or not...
Yeah we're OK cheers dude.. And you?
@@RccarsUK All good here thanks. Self isolation is a way of life for us now. I bought Davey's SCX10 Range Rover Classic last week and I'm looking forward to getting that 🙂👍
Realy good video my friend . Well done !!😃👍
Thank you very much 😀👍
wow mate you have done a epic job🤟😊🇬🇧👍😎👊
Thank you very much Leon. I'm very pleased with it 🙂👍
Fantastic job matey and a fantastic looking truck. I look forward to its maiden run. I likes thems metal shocks too 👍👍👍
Thank you very much Tibs. The metal hop ups are a bonus and are included in the kit 🙂👍
Nice overview, Kyosho makes nice kits and RCs. Yours turned out looking really nice. The rear wheel drive is going to be a handful with that 550 12 turn motor but in a good way. I’ve seen vids of people putting drift gyros to tone down the oversteer. Can’t wait to see it run!!
Hi Paul. Thank you my friend. I'm hoping I can control the 2wd with the 12t Titan motor. It took a while to get used to my Slash which has the same esc & motor. But I can always revert back to the 15t I didn't know people had put gyros in them. That's food for thought. Thanks 🙂👍👍
Oh man the memories when I built mine, thanks for taking me back to memory lane. Your kit came out amazing! This truck won't dissapoint, can't wait to see it in action!
Hi Gabriel. You're very welcome my friend. Thank you for your videos which first brought my attention to this truck 😀👍👍
Great video 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you very much Sam 🙂👍
Thanks for this video Derek. That looks like a very nice and solid truck. Can`t wait for you to take it out on the trails
Hi Daniel. Thank you very much my friend. I'm hoping to give it a run next week if I have time. Have a good weekend 🙂👍
that is sweet rig!!!
Thank you very much my friend 🙂👍
That really is a stunning piece of kit,it looks fantastic.
Hi David. Thank you very much 🙂👍
Yeah Derek. Nice looking kit brother. I have seen these rigs on other channels and I have to admit I really like the look of them ... Really looks great out running. Nice work Brother. Thanks for sharing and THe body looks even better now that it is on the rig... Well done.. Thumbs up of course
Hi Nick. As you know I'm a crawler at heart lol, but I do love a trophy truck. This will go nicely with my Hpi Trophy's and my Axial Yeti Score. I would love a Traxxas UDR as well but they're a bit pricey.
@@hollyhillrc Yeah I have to agree the UDR is an awesome looking rig. Seems to just float along when I have seen them in other videos... Absorbing every bump.. ;).... Have a good one Derek... :)
Very nice looking kit this, looks much more scale accurate than most short course trucks 👍🏻
Thank you very much Charlie. I always liked the Pro kit version more than blue or white RTR. When the Pro RTR was announced recently the kit was reduced in price, so I decided to get one.
Holly Hill RC well worth the wait mate as it looks cracking 👍🏻
@@cbix86 👍👍😊
Nice one derek you have done a amazing job there bro I’ve not seen one of these before will definitely be looking forward to seeing her she runs 👍👍😎
Thank you very much Kirk. I'm very pleased with it, and the paint job has given me lots of confidence to do more in future 🙂👍
Holly Hill RC your more then welcome bro
Looks superb, Derek! Enjoyed the build video as always, my friend. Great combo of talk and photos. Thumbs up.
Hello Mikael. Thank you very much my friend.
Nice rig men keep it up

Really cool kit, looks nice when finnished..Enjoy your first run..
Hello Jan. Thank you very much my friend. There's not a lot to build really. It took longer to paint the body ! But I love the retro look of this trophy truck.
@@hollyhillrc I guess KIT wasen`t correct "word" , but some assembling it was (hehe), looks very cool..Enjoy..Must ask..when it comes like that, almost assembled, what do you call it? Thank you..

great work my friend, this is really an outstanding truck. i guess you recommend it. and i guess i need it 😉 habe a noce sunday 👍
Thank you very much Eric. I'm very pleased with it 🙂👍
Not jealous at all😭👍🤣
Lick the screen baby 😄👍👍
Interesting that the chassis came pre-assembled, but even stranger that it came with a Traxxas esc. What's all that about ? This thing will certainly shift with a 12 turn motor in it - I always thought it was a crawler. Then again 'Rampage Pro'...... Look forward to seeing this machine ripping around Holly hill.. 👍🏻.
Hello mate. The kit doesn't come with any electrics. I supplied the esc, motor and servo. I had them in my spares box. I keep my eye on the sales pages on RC forums for cheap parts. The Traxxas esc and motor were new and taken out of a Slash because the owner had a brushless system for it. I paid £12 for the pair ! 🙂👍🏻
Bravo, Derek, that's a great machine. It exudes quality. Congratulations again on your body work. Can't wait for the first run! Take care mon ami.
Thank you very much Alex. I'm very pleased with it 🙂👍
Very nice job Derek! The Rampage looks awesome. I wish they had mounted the motor in the chassis instead of the axle 👍
Hi Charlie. Thank you very much my friend. I don't mind the motor where it is. When you run it you forget that and just admire the beauty of this retro looking Pickup 😍👍👍
What a Beautiful 1/10 Scale you have put together there , i love the colour very much which is it if thats ok ? i have just ordered myself one from Crazy Hobbies as they had a 15% off Sale and been watching the Speed BAJA racing on UA-cam together with this video had me more than Sold so now i cant wait for it to arrive , i hope my motor will be ok for it as i have 2 to pick from a 17t HACKMOTO brushed and a Kyosho XSpeed 16T Modified also brushed want to enjoy it more so than kill it ha ha ha , so any help on the choices are welcomed and thanks in advance great video and thanks for sharing 🙂
Hi Andrew. Thank very much for watching and your comment. Please accept my apologies for not putting a list of parts I used in the description below the video. I've added that information now. The paint I used for the body was Tamiya PS-15 Metallic Red backed with Tamiya PS-23 Gun Metal. I think your choice of motors are good as long as you have an ESC that will handle motors as low as a 16T. I have the 12T 550 brushed Traxxas Titan motor and I must admit that because it's a 2WD I find it difficult to control at high speed. It's easier on grass but I struggle when it's on loose gravel or a dry dirt path. But I usually run slower 4WD trail trucks and I'm sure with a bit of practice I will get used to it. I hope you enjoy your build. They are beautiful looking RC's and I'm very happy with mine 🙂👍
Very helpful and informative video - thank you. I am in the process of building one but my titan 550 motor doesn't want to fit in the transmission casing. Did you have to file yours down? Thanks
Hello my friend. Thank you for watching. I'm glad it helped. I had no issues fitting my 12T 550 Titan motor with the kit pinion gear. It went straight in.
Wow - I´ve never seen a Kyosho kit so close up before. Some things, such as the motor(gearbox/axle, reminded me of Tamiya, but the sophisticated rear suspension design is really novel to me.
Is this a model of a prerunner or a desert race truck=
Hi Del. I think it's classed as a "Retro Trophy Truck". It was the retro look of it that attracted me to it. As you know, I'm a bit of a fan of Trophy trucks 😀👍
@@hollyhillrc You certainly are! I´d like to see how effective this truck´s suspension is compared to the Mini Trophy´s setup, which I consider to be excellent.
Hi Derek, really good video, and i am so tempted with one, however i get the feeling this model will strip spur and or other gears in the trans, and parts seem hard to get for the brand, do you still have this and should i let the gear issue put me of getting one
Hi Julian. Thank you for watching this. To be honest with you I've only ran mine twice since I built it. Not because I don't like it, but because once it was built and I'd run it a few times it was a case of on to the next one, and like so many of my RC's it doesn't get used very often. This is the drawback when you have a big collection. So I can't really comment on the durability of the components because mine are still practically new. Because of this I haven't had to get any replacement parts and didn't realise they were hard to find. So I had a search for the gear set you're concerned about, (part no Kyosho K.OL009), and all the usual suppliers said "available to order" or "out of stock". I did find it in stock and available to buy immediately at Amazon UK, but it's almost twice the price of anywhere else that listed them, which begs the question "why". Have they been bought to the point of becoming almost unavailable? Food for thought. I will have to bear this in mind when I do eventually dust mine off and run it again. So if you have any doubts my advice is don't buy one. I personally don't see the point if you can't get parts to repair it any more. The urge for one will subside and you'll see something else that will take your fancy soon enough. Believe me Julian, I've been there many many times!
@@hollyhillrc Derek, thank you for a detailed reply, top man, i will steer clear of it, as we say dont want a model that ends up stuck for parts or being forced to pay double just to get bits
@@rctraildriversuk-lone-wolfvide You're welcome and I'm happy to help 🙂👍🏼👍🏼
