- Damn, it feels good to finally roast some tires again at Irwindale - especially in our biggest project car we’ve attempted to date. And (spoiler alert): it rips. And it’s kinda terrifying. And it still needs some work. But for Jose and Dan, this is the proof-of-concept we’ve been building towards all this time. Next step? Some tying up of loose ends, maybe a livery, and of course the standing mile attempt that this thing was built for.

@@mw2filmmaker right, it is a clean tune. And its a tune i believe will do the 200mph mark. I think the reason everyone is so upset is because the tune and engine can hold much more power than what they have

This is a used engine it’s out of an f250 van. ITS BEEN USED. They dident change any internals others than the head.

They did, Banks is already backed up with customer cars. They have already worked on the tune and are hoping to hit the rollers again to clean it up from what Dan posted on Insta.

This is the COOLEST car I’ve seen in a long time. The black smoke, the turbo noise, the speed and torque. Everything is awesome. I’m absolutely in love. Great work Dan and Jose. You knocked it out of the park.

I've been doing quite few burnouts on my new channel, up in the mountains in my truck of course.

EVERY time I see a boosted diesel, it sounds more like a jet engine than a piston engine. Or, more precisely, a free piston engine.

@@dallasdelano8235 For a reason. You can't really build great NA diesels, unlike gas engines. Some nut made a firebird capable of 10krpm
Slick Mike nah old school 6.2 diesels were used in the military and they were NA.

I needs to be retuned. That converter is gonna work amazing for hitting 200. They need it a little looser to hit the mph.
@@Dukes3677 the tune doesn't even look bad. The smoke clears up to a light haze when they're in boost so I think the tune is just fine. They just need a tighter converter because they're losing so much potential power before they lockup the converter. Not too mention getting that trans hot as shit with that much converter slip

It’s a top speed car not a drag car, they usually don’t launch super fast due to gearing so it’s likely better to have it off the wheel as it could cause issues during a high speed run.

They do. If I remember correctly (correct me if I'm wrong) Hooonigan is going to pay for his treatment. Only thing is that maybe now due to this covid stuff the hospitals don't work how they used to

Diesel engines produce black smoke when they are running at their peak performance and are at their most powerful. Tuning the engine to prevent the smoke would be choking the monster.

@@Chrisolboy2424 the worst thing to have is black smoke. Back in the days of mechanical fuel timing, you couldn't just add more fuel when it was needed. So you have to add tons of fuel at low load and boost, to get the right amount of fuel at high load and boost.
Now, you can just add and remove fuel and timing electronically. Which eliminates the dpm issue (black smoke).
