  • Had a rush order for lantern hooks. They are not tough to forge but they are incredibly hard to bend just because they are unwieldy. This is where you need a few friends!

Would it have been easier to bend up the T section in a shorter piece then either forge weld or rivet it to a longer piece?

So as to shutting off comments I just want to say that your forge is alot hotter than a impact fireball that burns out in seconds.there now I'll go bug off.

Excellent point. If you read my comment, I actually touched on that and presented a fact that temperatures in the Towers never exceeded 500°. That fact right there disproves his demonstration with the forge

Working on a 10’ length or rebar to turn into a shepherds hook for my mother’s graveside. Thing almost doesn’t fit in my shop and the courtesy bends I made are being very discourteous now that I need them straight. Need to get a bottle of O2 to get onto the next step.

Though such a project is slightly beyond me right now, I spent the whole video planning out how I would do it in my 8x10, 2 forge, 2 anvil, 1 ASO smithy. Guess that says how far I've come.

I just made a musket mainspring that has that same hook shape on the end.

What sorts of customers do you get for these types of custom pieces? Just people who value handmade stuff for the gardens/etc, or perhaps they are ending up on movie sets, or? What do you think?

I don't see the point of the T, unless it was to make driving it into the ground easier.

That's what I think it is for. Harder rocky soil might make it very useful.

Great work showing how to get the job done with various methods.
Traditionally this looks like perfect scenario to forge weld a shaft to the bent up segment. You could forge a ton of short hooks then deliver the end product at various lengths/heights per customer request.
    Great work as always Trenton!

I know you most likely won't give a **** but I was watching your channel and was just about to hit the subscribe button and later go to Patreon but then I saw you working with a gun in your back pocket and I thought what the hell are you doing. For me that just took away any respect I may have had for you and your work. First time seeing you was on forged in fire where you lost your way trying to show off your forging skills while forgetting about the true function of the peace you were making. Anyway the gun in the Pocket.
    Not impressed, good luck

I mean, do you know how many of these fake accounts I have posting on my videos? Like, its -the same guy- that comes up with the most random reasons to leave negative comments. "I saw you had blue wire nuts instead of green. I was going to donate a million dollars but now, so sad". Do you ever get your accounts mixed up or is automated?
