The derailed train was Norfolk Southern train 32N which occurred in February 2023 and operated from the Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis yard in Madison, Illinois, to Norfolk Southern's Conway Yard in Conway, Pennsylvania.

Many individuals keep bringing up the fact that the train was not equipped with electric brakes. Keep in mind the derailment was, as of now, thought to be caused by a faulty wheel bearing and they admit it had nothing to do with the brakes. In fact they had already applied the brakes when the train derailed. The brakes seem to have become a political point when in fact that's all it is. That's kind of like your wheel falling off your car so you apply your brakes. The brakes had nothing to do with the wheel falling off. If people later then said the brakes made your wheel fall off that would be idiotic.
