Would suggest a platform of some sort , foam directly on the floor can lead to mold deep in the mattress (I found out the hard way)
omg so did I! I kinda did this same idea with a king size memory foam mattress, cut in half to make an L-shaped sofa. Had it directly on the floor and noticed a smell, thankfully I was able to clean it and I bought platforms for it, problem solved:)

You can probably just use a sawzall or however it’s spelled. Or a number of powered saws. Just saying. Good idea though as I’m looking to turn my sectional into a giant bed in my living room.

@@sarahlongboards so true. we took a trampoline suspended it from the ceiling and used every bit of foam we could find on craigslist. went to the carpet store they gave me as many carpet tubes as i could take and we made some really neat suspended chairs( saw someone do that on youtube)...so your couch is totally up my alley

Old mattress foam. Might be cheaper to just order new mattress than to buy foam from a store
