You are so creative when it comes to modern, plywood furniture! Also creative in bypassing sewing! It is modern, functional and multi-purpose! Love it!
This build is awesome. Simple, practical, unique and good looking. I also appreciate how you’ve edited the video, I often find the pace of these kind of videos too slow but you nailed it. That wasn’t supposed to be a pun.
This is way better than your last video. Its functional, meets a specific need and is a good design for cost effective diy - better than a plywood desk for 1k $$$ costs. Thanks!
Have been planing a small proyect that involves the use of conduit and needs some cushion and your idea of the pool noodles as cushion is just brilliant so I'm gonna steal it 😁😁
I just had a powerful "I'm learning woodworking, you can learn to sew," then remembered my sewing sucks and fabric glue is God's gift to hems. (This comment intended for the last video in the playlist.)
I like the simple design of the sofa bed. But I have to point out, please use a workbench as your damaging you're back every time you work on the floor. A bad back is and can be both painful and disabling.
Awesome project I wanna do this you went above, also you right on the T&N we have a Queen size the original and man can't complaint it is amazing the comfort I've had it for 2 years and so far so great.👍🏼👌🏼
Hey, @homemademodern I love your design - I am a big fan of home cinema and I am going to use it for my own mancave but I am thinking - about leg rests - i love to watch from lounge chair - how to upgrade your design with leg rest? do you think it's possible?
I REQUEST U PLZ MAKE ALL WOODEN GYM EQUIPMENT, U R EARLIER BOTH VIDEOS FOR BENCH PRESS & FREE PULL-UP BAR WAS VERY HELPFUL & USEFUL TO ME & THEN I DECIDED TO MAKE A HOMEMADE WOODEN GYM, PLZ HELP ME BRO, MAKE ALL WOODEN GYM EQUIPMENT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, THANKS FOR DOING GREAT WORK..!🙂🤘😀
Simple Life Hacks MDF in it self is pretty strong, but it wouldn’t work for this purpose.. large boards would sag over time, and screws would split the ends quite easily. Also painting MDF isn’t ideal, it absorbs a lot of paint. Birch Plywood would be better suited for this Projekt..
i've loved lots of your designs but i don't see much point in this. usually the idea is that a sofa turns into a double bed. this is as much a bed in sofa mode as it is in bed mode, and takes up pretty much the same amount of space however you configure it.
I like the idea of a bed with lounging option. I’m more concerned about the use of a regular matress. It’s not recommended to sit on them. That’s why they don’t use them in sofas. After some time the matress will have holes in places you sit on and will be uncomfortable when you lay down on it.
i agree. makes no sense putting down the backrest cuz its not like you creating more space for bed. you can lay on it to sleep in sofa mode just as easily in bed mode
Hey I’m interested in making a murphy bed/ desk combo as a stand alone price of furniture. I would really love to see your design choices in making one. Would you consider making a video about this kind of project?
Build this but the whole construction is super weak. It bows down in the middle with my dog getting on it and he's about 50 pounds. Not sure how he got it to support his weight. So I'm trying to come up with a way to support the center a bit more if it's going to hold the weight of 2 adults .
Hiya, I’m hoping to get some help, I’m in New Zealand and I’m wanting to get some clamps. What is the best set in the way of lengths and number of those lengths. Just something to start with. Can anyone help?
I'd need a wedge of something in that open space for the lumbar support. It looks like you are rich with a lot of space. This doesn't look very practical for the apartment dweller to build.
This is a really Do It Yourself¡¡!!!
No sophisticated tools, no special instalations, all made in home.

this needs to be waay more mainstream.. in the future i want to see everybody having a bed that's also a couch
I love how you cut the plywood using 2x4s under the plywood. Great idea.
Can’t stop watching your vids. I get my house soon. That’s means I’m doing everything I see here lol.
Thank you!
This is way better than your last video. Its functional, meets a specific need and is a good design for cost effective diy - better than a plywood desk for 1k $$$ costs. Thanks!
I really appreciate the simplicity of your working space. Thanks for sharing
I like this project - no fancy tools needed.
Sweet build Ben! Whoever says plywood can’t look good has no clue what they’re talking about
Top tip for glueing sheets together is to use rock salt between the sheets it bites into both and stops the shifting
Haha very funny
This is what I saw:
"Drills and Sanders and cutters? No problem!
Sewing machine? Count me out!"
Looks like a lot of hard work so just take your time and enjoy it. I really liked the pace of the video.
for me designing is fun but building is relaxing
I love the platform. I would like the sides a little higher.
Very cool. What if the back rest turns into a neat side ledge where you can keep stuff when in bed mode.
Really cool. Love the little touches like the plywood "washer".
Great project! Love the modern look. Maybe make it a little taller to place a roll out bin underneath to store pillows and duvet?
This is your best sofa yet!!
Genius at work.
Just wonder .... is there adequate lower back support ... it does not look like it. Great projects and demonstrations as ever.
*Handy product. Works well.*
this is awesome. Why is no one making a product out of this?
Have been planing a small proyect that involves the use of conduit and needs some cushion and your idea of the pool noodles as cushion is just brilliant so I'm gonna steal it 😁😁
You need to do something to that plywood, it just looks like it's not finished.
I just had a powerful "I'm learning woodworking, you can learn to sew," then remembered my sewing sucks and fabric glue is God's gift to hems. (This comment intended for the last video in the playlist.)
As usual. Very awesome and practical. Love it.
WOW just WOW!!! Came here from Rachel Metz DIY ❤️❤️❤️
This is awesome but do you have the plans

when will the plans be available on your website?
I typed 'how to make a sofa bed' into You tube and this was the only one as good as mine.
Very good idea. Thanks
Superb 👍
Thank you

If you put wait on the glue it prevents it from moving
My God, just in time when I'm trying to look for a tv room sofabed for my aunty 🤣
Nice. But the empty space below the bed. Some draws would be nice for storage.
This is awesome! My favourite bed project so far!
Im looking to make something like this for my room. It's a good idea. I would lower the arm rest thought
I don't get why you would ever lower the backrest.
Richie waiting for an answer because I had the same question
Fantastic 🥰 very clever man 👍

Can u make Murphy bed without expensivve hardware? Can’t find one ☝️ online.
Yes! I have been wanting to do one for while but don't have a spot for one yet.
Check out Lori wall beds. Uses no hardware.
👏 Thanks for upload!!
thank you!
Really cool build great video!
Nice job guy 👍
The homeless shelter in Joshua Tree must have the nicest beds anywhere!
Haha love your designs. This one was really clever.
MAN GET A TABLE SAW YOUR KILLING MY BACK JUST WATCHING YOU DO ALL THESE CUTS ON THE FLOOR !!!
how many hours did you spend building this sofa? Is it possible to use MDF board for this purpose? ( or it not strong enough )
Simple Life Hacks MDF in it self is pretty strong, but it wouldn’t work for this purpose.. large boards would sag over time, and screws would split the ends quite easily. Also painting MDF isn’t ideal, it absorbs a lot of paint. Birch Plywood would be better suited for this Projekt..
i wouldnt use mdf for anything that needs to take weight or last longer than 3 months.
Mdf would work
My wife makes fun of be for sitting like that, good to know it's just called a "lounge position"! 😄
Great VIDEO. I love, love, LOVE this project.
Nice! I was wondering how you were going to do it. Couldn’t quite gather from audio description.
Pretty cool! And the tutorial is straight forward

Very good!!
Great project, simple and nice!
Amazing! ❤
Wait, something is not clear: do you have to unscrew and rescrew 4 bolts, every time you want to adjust your sofa back to a different position?
I have same question
it's a dumb design that was just made for a UA-cam video.. no way he actually uses this. Probably went right in the garbage after the video was done.
Always doing a good awsome job.
Thanks and awesome bro.
I’m so excited to get started! Where can we find the drawings referenced from the video? Not seeing it in the description.

how much did this cost you to make? I'm looking to make something like this but don't want to spend more then $200.

Wow that is cool can you tell me tje measure of the tuft needle matress and where can i get it? Thanks
Awesome vid. I don't see the link to the drawing in the description.
Nice... 👍
Instead of slitting the pool noodles, I would take the conduits out and slide them on.
Great job man!
Bravoo !!!!!
Bravissimo
No vent under the mattress?

What do you do with all these beds you make on your channel!?
Post a link for that polyurethane finish please .
