This, as well as many stories in the show, is based on one of the women talked about in a film Paris is Burning.

I had a dream about this scene just last night. I was Angel, my teacher (who is like a second mom to me) was Elektra, and Blanca and Lulu were themselves. "Elektra" talked about leaving her mother and going after her dreams, just like in the clip, but then she told "Angel" (me) that I didn't need to be so hard on myself all the time despite all the times in my life I screwed up. She said that I was a beautiful person and that I was loved. Blanca added that all I needed to do was learn to love and forgive myself, and then I would be free. Then the dream changed to something else. I definitely can admit that I fucked up a lot in my life. I physically and mentally hurt people and I even got arrested once. Even though I'm genuinely trying to be better, I've hated myself for a long time and I can't bring myself to talk about stuff much because I fear people will hate me if they knew about my past. There are some people I HAVE opened up to and all of them supported me and gave me advice and that made things a little easier for me. I was definitely relieved. But I still have a long way to go before I can love or forgive myself. So I was surprised when I woke up. I wonder what that dream was supposed to mean, like is there a hidden message in it or something? I felt I had to share this because I have always struggled with my mental health and I wonder if anyone can relate.

I kind of wish they killed off Damon because it's really weird that he's not in the wedding of his brother or Papi didn't bring it up.

At that time, PETA is already exist but have much influence on medical testing due silver monkeys project (as I read it to wikipedia). I think they more focus on fashion right at this time, which intesify during Calvin Klein fashion show, which at the time Angel wedding... maybe after her wedding PETA starting their rampaging on fur farming (yikes! XD) But completely different on today, which people really aware and the quality on fake fur is almost matches quality to the real ones...
