WELCOME TO "Tales from Tuscany" in 2023!
We are Marisa and David, Australian expats now living part-time in Chianni Tuscany.
During the Global Pandemic, we decided to buy our Italian dream home, sight unseen and with no prior knowledge of the area.
This is our journey!
Firstly David and I would love to thank you all for the generous support, kindness and friendship, you have shown us since launching our little channel in 2022.
We hope many more of you decide to Subscribe and follow us into 2023!

What a wonderful few days these were here in Chianni Tuscany!
We can really feel the house changing in this episode and it's all down to the addition of a few very special light fittings!
Lights really do make all the difference, especially when they are as beautiful and special as these wonderful pieces we found, both locally and online but all of Italian origin. (Details below)
We also spent these few final days before leaving for a special trip to the UK and Venice (next episodes), by eating out with new friends and discovering more wonderful places in the Valderra and Provincia di Pisa, all on our "front door"!

Buongiorno Brenda! Oh we did truly miss your beautiful banter this morning but we do realise that people have "lives" to lead and places to be! You're baking bread...how delizioso!!! I used to love doing things like that and I can't wait to have the time to make conserves and lots of yummy "home-made" things in Chianni, once we are more organised. That's why we'd like to get the cantina converted, so that we have a summer kitchen and storage for wines and jars. We are so glad you love the lighting and yes...we really do live in a corner of paradise! We can't believe how blessed we've been to find it! It's amazing what a difference lights make to a space. I love how the light you bought from us sits so well with the one in your living room. A big hello to our wonderful mutual friends Marie and Lorenzo @authentictuscany (the loveliest people you could ever hope to meet) and to Chris who we weirdly (and very fleetingly) met through them! ❤
it truly is Emma! We are so happy with the choices we made and I just knew that lovely light would marry well with the other! So far, we are over the moon with every little choice! I just love that crystal chandelier it is stunning and the black marble counter top. And the basil plant on the window sil is just lovely such a nice sunny day there.

Hello Celia! Thank you so much for coming by again...we missed you this morning but love that you always drop by! So grateful for that :D We're so glad that you love our chandelier...it was a truly magical find at our local "mercatino" where we have found so many wonderful pieces...I'm obsessed! LOL 🤣We hope to make other rather "major" changes to the cucina this year, finances permitting! Maybe even a Tuscan arch and a marble sink. Ah we loved those lights, the canary cage... and Terricciola... never eaten there. The food looked amazing in Chianni too. You sure got about a bit. Can't wait 'til the next one, guys!

Great video!!...just a question...I noticed that the walls in your home look as if they were painted!!.did you actually paint the home yourselves or had a professional come in?.. the home is in great shape...I guess there is no need for renovations !... thanks.....Connie from Canada 🇨🇦
Ciao Connie! Thank you so much for you kind comments! No...we haven't painted at all but in future episodes, you'll see us paint and maybe wallpaper as well. The paint was in pretty good shape in most rooms and I think was probably about 2-3 years old but as it was neutral and still in fairly good condition, we decided to leave it for now, whilst we make decisions and "lived" with it for a while. There are a few minor cracks that I'll repair...you'll see! The kitchen needs a few major updates as it's not very user friendly as such. As we save funds, we will get things done...we've basically spent our last cent getting the house and doing what we are doing now! Downstairs needs a total renovation, so that will happen over the next couple of years we think and the outside walls need the stucco removed and the stones repointing. Otherwise, it's in awesome condition structurally with lots already renovated prior to us buying! A great buy! :D xoxox
