Livorno: A Genuine Experience On The Tuscan Coast!

Livorno is the most important port city in Tuscany. It was founded in 1017 as a costal fortress to defend Pisa. The evidence of those times is the couple of towers and the wall inside the Fortezza Vecchia (Old Fort), later built in the sixteenth century. Discover the history and culture of Livorno and explore hte fortresses, canals, markets, squares and promenades that make i a perfect vacation spot.
First stop is a small shop who serve sweets similar to donuts, but better. After the tasting, we went to an old restaurant called GAGARIN founded in 1917 and also was featured on CNN travel show. I had a nice sandwich with eggplant and cheese. It was very tasty, and eggplant is my favorite vegetable.
After, we went to the market where we saw all the produce at the market. The market is very famous for a lot of fresh seafood, meat, fruits and vegetables.
At Ponce Livornese Caffe, We had bread, olive oil, cheese and wine.
At Caffe Mercata, we had bruschetta, that was very good. My husband had a taste of a special coffee that had, rum, cognac, espresso, lemon zest and sugar. This why I think, Livorno is a city you must visit.
