A stupendous welcome to our New freinds joining us your truly welcome to the buckin army you could search the internet for years but I know you will never find a place overflowing with such truly wonderful people every single one willing to share the love and kindness they all have. Great to see you and Hogan working so well together, sometimes it's very hard for a young man to work with his father, but in your case it's rewarding to see that hogan is fully focused and being a sponge, soaking it all in. keep it up, one of the greatest gifts my father gave me was to teach me how to work, and appreciate the knowledge of those with more experience, this has to be one of my favorite videos from you. Kind thoughts and well wishes to the community.

I just watched the ceder tree episode....the one that addressed wedges....what an absolute thrill it is to watch you work.....a master of logging!! It's way beyond education and entertainment!! It's watching a genius own the tree!! Total respect! Now....I will admit, at times it is difficult to hear you teaching because the saw is louder than the commentary.....but that's what makes the visual so helpful and the back button a life saver!! I just back it up...watch again....until I get it. So many people think they can just run down to Lowes and buy a chain saw and start dropping trees! You are the master friend!! Keepem comin!! I still have a whole lot to learn!!!

    Hey there Buckin'
That was a tall one wasn't it? I think that's the tallest tree I've seen you cut. How many cords of firewood do you think are in that monster? I'm guessing it would heat a house for most of the winter. I can really tell Hogan is "into it". I think you know what I mean. The young man has grown up a ton right in front of my eyes.

Kia ora from New Zealand. Watching this video and a few others took me back to my days of being a productive clear felling contractor. We would each fell and trim an average of 60+ trees everyday for several months at a time or until the entire forest block was levelled. Most tree fallers used either 288 huskies or 066 Stihl with a 24'' bar which always seemed a little too short but you managed. That large tree you cut down in this video...we called them gun barrels because of their absolute straighness and at 6+ tonne per tree, they were the money bags. Towards the end of my 15 years experience I saw many young lads come into the industry with an alpha male attitude. So eager to cut down extremely large trees with very little or no prior experience which sometimes came at a cost either physically or financially or sometimes both. I knew of men who died from widowmakers, sailers and just windthrown trees. In NZ today the industry has changed rapidly with most forests now being clear felled mechanically although some regions are steeped terrain which still requires a skilled tree faller but the days of a man cutting a tally of 60+ trees is no match for a machine that cuts 1400+ . I commend you on the encouragement and advice you share not only with your son but to all the viewers. Working with trees and professional chainsaws is a dangerous mix and should always be approached with the utmost safety. Please keep doing these videos...

I think Hogan is ready to do some falling, w/ buckin there by his side. He seems to understand the dangers and how to keep himself safe. As well as leaving the proper amount of hinge wood. I was in his shoes before just dyeing to do some falling. I put in my 2 years of bucking/trimming,cleaning,chipping before I got the go ahead to start falling. We do residential tree removal and not much cuttin in the woods. I think it's time hogan starts putting in some face/back cuts.

Wow that was a big cedar. They usually don't survive to get that big, do they? I enjoy the videos with you and Hogan working together the most. He's getting good, there was a lot less instruction and more working and knowing that the other wants without asking. Nice job Ganges, you're getting really good, your dad is probably bursting at the seams with pride :) Looks like the Merc needs some drivers mirror glass as well as new brake lines, Buckin'

Here on the west coast cedar varieties are among some of the biggest trees in the world. Some pretty neat places and parks set aside too. Near me there is a place called the Hobo Cedar Grove and it's mind blowing especially for being a little inland. Hope you are doing well Angie!
