I'm almost 50 years old and decided to buy a violin just to see ifI could play a few notes. The first was a very inexpensive violin that I couldn't keep in tune even after applying a nice well known peg paste so I sent it back and bought an Eastar which sounded better and keeps its tune longer. I LOVE IT! I LOVE THE VIOLIN! I played happy birthday for my son's Birthday! My next violin will be a much, much better violin because I can buy a better one! Thank you to whomever makes these violins as they get you hooked! My next violin will be much better! Hopefully made in America or Europe! I can't wait until I get better! Now time to practice!
It used to be that cheap violins were pure junk. Now the problem has evolved into - ok cheap violin sounds ok, but the setup is so HARD! Adjusting bridge height and string height over nut is super easy. I did DIY adjustment on my super cheap violin and I am very happy with the result. Anyone with two thumbs can do it, no need for luthier. After all, you want the violin to be comfortable for yourself, not what luthiers think should be appropriate.
Thanks for your comment. In this video I'm a beginner reacting as a beginner would. I do play it some around 2:55. I also play it in at least one other video. I can hear it without any problem.
im new to learning violin since sept 2020 and one thing that ive read and heard from luthiers in videos is that some of the cheaper violins need to have the peg holes reamed for custom fit of pegs on new violins. that may be the case with yours, the peg holes need to be reamed to size and from what had been expressed by the luthiers, this is a normal thing on new violins. just like bridge adjustment. i purchased this violin and am currently waiting for it to arrive. you may want to purchase peg grease as well. i bought a stick of peg grease when i purchased my cello so i would have it in case the pegs slipped. no problems with any of my pegs so far.
I’ve seen videos about reaming the peg holes but on mine I guess I took the opposite approach when I sanded the pegs down so they would fit in the holes. They hold very well now and stay in tune. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and story.
@@gibbonschip now that you have had the cecilio for some time, are you happy with it? mine is suppose to be delivered this friday. i bought a cecilio cello and so far am please with it. which was part of reason (besides cost) that i chose to try their violin as well. i've also looked into the fiddlerman violins as well due to them checking them and making adjustments before shipping. hope you are enjoying learning to play as i am.
@@shadowsilverlight1651 Yes, I'm still happy with the violin but I can't say that I've been practicing very much, at least not the disciplined kind. I've always been that way with music though. I get impatient with practice and always just want to improvise. I enjoy putting on a drone, like an A drone for example, and just playing the violin to experiment with the sounds I can get out of it. I've got a couple of albums, several singles and backing tracks in all keys posted on all the streaming services including UA-cam. Playing the violin or any other instrument with the backing tracks can be fun. I'm glad to hear that you like their cello. I was going to get a cello first because I love the sound of a cello but they take up so much space so I decided to start with a violin/fiddle.
@Cryptic Zen as a guitarist for ~5 or so years and very new to violin myself I have to concur. Guitar is much more accessible and easier to learn than violin (imo).
Thank you sir! As a 13 year old beginner. I found this an ideal violin!
Muneet Gill I’m so glad it worked out for you!
Lmao, same just bought it. Also, not to be rude but, what 13 year old says “I found this an ideal violin” just found that funny as a 7th grander.
Father RATT, I’m in 8th grade, how is that funny? Just trying to be polite!
Muneet Gill just doesn’t seem like something a kid would say that’s all that’s funny to me

Sir namaskar .Plz suggest to me a good sound violin.
Chip you should play it on a review, and increase microphone volume or get closer to camera.

Hello
Is the bridge tilted on your violin?
I looks like it is when seen from an angle but around 53 seconds there's a pretty straight shot of it where it looks fine.
@@gibbonschip Ah cool, thank you!
I can't find it in Saudi Arabia 😔there is a lot and I'm so confused
I'm not sure whether to play violin or acoustic guitar.
Maybe you should play acoustic guitar with a violin bow. Or play a violin like a guitar. That might solve your dilemma.
