@ Raja Natarajan, As per your statement if at one point if it is start emitting the stored compressed force (potential energy) means, could you tell in what form it is emitting? Heat energy or mechanical energy?. If in the form of heat energy means it should consumed less heat compared to energy required to melt the uncompressed spring. But he is clearly telling from the experiment that same heat energy required for both the case.
Suppose if we assume it is realising in mechanical form means, can we get the energy back what we spend to compress it. Let's assume a case where we have the spring installed vertically and rod attached to it in middle of the spring hanging downward to add mass in downward direction to compress it. Assume initial height is 100 mm, after apply mass it compressed to 50 mm. When we apply heat and we assume it is realising the energy in mechanical form means will the height go back to 100 mm before it starts melting????
Could you prove this experimentally in which form it emitting the stored compressed force???? We shouldn't speak blindly. I aggree with your point, if you could able to prove, when we apply heat to the compressed spring will go back to 100mm or consumed less or more energy to melt it compared to uncompressed spring.

The spring compression experiment, the inventor is showing has some misconceptions, when we compress the spring the heat energy is given to ambient air which we will not get it back, therefore no energy is destroyed
