  • The California Science Center continues Go for Stack with the installation of two large Solid Rocket Motors (SRMs), donated by Northrop Grumman, to create the two Solid Rocket Boosters (SRBs) for the space shuttle stack.
Go for Stack is the complex, multi-phase process of moving and lifting each of the space shuttle components into place for Endeavour’s upcoming awe-inspiring 20-story vertical display in the future Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center. This upcoming addition to the California Science Center will serve as a launchpad for creativity and innovation which will inspire future generations of scientists, engineers, and explorers.

This may very well be the most incredible spaceflight exhibit ever. A flight-ready shuttle stack, for all to see.
    Can't wait!

I'm actually penciling in a trip to CA to see it when it's open. I was born in and grew up in the era of the shuttles.

So how did they detach the flexible cable connecting the top of the booster to the crane? The video does not show this.
