@@thomasvelazquez9789 Yeah, mine died at age 38 yrs playing with the kids. Silly me tried for another 11 years to keep running, but I could not do more than 35 km per week. Wish I had converted to kayak paddling straight away, instead of 27 years later !!
wow..... all of them were under 3:00 that's incredible. 2:29 ish for the winner is unreal..... I was waiting to see how many of these guys were going to pull a calf or something... Lost for words really on how good each and every guy is.
@@Marksmith2-qu6tl... I wonder if 800 meters on a treadmill = 800 meters on a 1/4 mile track. I would think that 800 meters on a 1/4 mile track is measured right against the curb; nobody does (or is able to) run "right against the curb," so I wonder how far a person REALLY runs when he runs "800 meters" ... on a track??? I would think when professional runners run the mile on a track, some of them may actually run 30 yards "MORE" than a mile, taking into account those running wide and jockeying for position. So, say someone runs 3:57 for the mile, but is one of those that may have run 30 yards more than necessary; that means he ACTUALLY ran somewhere under 3:54. That's why the "STRAIGHT-AWAY" mile (ran on a street) can be run soooooooo much faster than the world record ... set on a 1/4 mile track; on the "STRAIGHT-AWAY" mile they're running EXACTLY 1 mile!!
70 to 74 years old....... 100% agreed it's incredible. Could run sub 1:50 in my late 30s but at 60 it takes me a good 5mins to cover 1km and I guess I would struggle, and I am not sure I could, to run 4:00 for 800m without pulling a muscle. [fat and old isn't a good combination I must admit, but still]
@@user-cx4ll4rj1t At 18 I was actually a sprinter but my coach would throw me in anything. I won the high school region with a time of 2.00 . I lagged behind in last place on the first lap and used my speed on the second lap for the win. Imagine if I would have really ran the first lap. Also my Coach ran 1.50 in college.
I picked the winner after only half a lap. He wasn't in the lead, but he was the only one who still had a youthful, smooth stride. Everyone else looked choppy and stiff.
Average people have no idea how incredible you need to be to run that race at that age. Those men are more impressive than any billionaire or corporate type. These guys are wealthy beyond measure it is a wealth that cannot be bought
Most of the 40 year olds I know would not be able to keep up with these dudes LMFAO!! This is why I don't eat junk food and try to stay as fit as possible with lots of running and road cycling.
that second lap under 1min 10sec, incredible.
As a 71 year old I thought that was awesome running by all involved.
Everyone in that heat is in incredible shape.
Фантастика! Потрясающая форма!
As a runner in my late 40’s this is really cool to see and gives me hope I’ll see another 25 years out there.
Biggest thing is meniscus survival

The world record for the marathon at 74 years is, like, 2:54 or something. Some people just know how to stay in superb shape.
I timed it first lap 1:20.5, second lap 1:09.0, finishing at 2:29.5. That final lap was awesome, good job!
I'm 45 .I'm going to try under 2:30 tommorow on my treadmill for 800m .
Thank you

Pretty good time ... 5 min. mile pace; it's amazing that he was able to spruce it up to run "69" on that 2nd lap; my hat goes off to him!! ❤️
His splits were 80, 70.
Wow!! What a run by all but the chap who won - just wow!!!! That has to be our aspiration for that age wow! Well done to all the athletes, incredible!
Fantastic race many thanks for posting 👍👍👍
You are welcome
Outstanding! Great form and effort!
I ran a similar time to that once, when I was 18.....:0)
Awesome running at 70 years old

Надо в забег ставить вместе с ними внуков, которые за компьютерами сидят и не хотят заниматься спортом…
Awesome!
Great 2d lap
Way to go
That 70+ guy that came in first is faster than most 50 yr olds I know.
Check my new post as it’s got the European Masters from Poland 🇵🇱
Ese señor de 70+ que llego en primer lugar es más rápido que algunos amigos que conozco de más 30+. Saludos cordiales desde Tulsa oklahoma 🤟
LMFAO they are faster than a lot of 30 year olds I know hahahaha!!!
What was his time?
I don't personally know anyone at any age who would have beaten that bloke. His last lap was phenomenal. I cannot believe he's 70!!!
Whenever I feel like exercising, I lay on my sofa until that feeling passes.
I'll still be running at 70, but this makes me never want to race at that age!
Super 💪💪💪
Me: on tha mark, get set, pistol goes off- 💥 i faint & fall on my face.🤕
Fantastic,I'm ten years younger and still couldn't run 800mts at that pace.
LMFAO my 40' ish year old friends would get embarrassed by those old dudes lol
Well done to all. Being able to run at 70 plus is pretty good.
I picked the winner after only half a lap. He wasn't in the lead, but he was the only one who still had a youthful, smooth stride. Everyone else looked choppy and stiff.
Was that a pacer that pulled out in the first lap?
He didn't seem upset when he pulled up, so I think he holds the record for the shortest pacing, in any race,

Yes meniscus survival is critical to be able to do this I'm fast but my meniscus won't like this
He has super speed

Pacemaker dropped out after 100 meters.
My very thought!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Which Pacemaker !
@@kathleencook3060 Come on, it's a joke! Watch the race again!
Of course it was a joke!
There is another meaning to the word:
"Pacemaker".
@@kathleencook3060 ok, get it! 😅😅😅
just try and run one lap in 1 09 or less and get to see how it feels and how much longer it is than it looks. From the couch, it's so easy.
Green was hauling all kinds of ass
Meniscus ouch
Didn’t get the winning time?
No sorry there’s a page with all results somewhere
@@darrentowart6459 Thanks!
Was the winner tested lol?
Looks to be about 2:30. That is fast for 70 or any age!
@@markmark2469 👍🏽
Yes I noticed it started at +3 seconds on the YT time mark so - 2:30 is about right what you say@@markmark2469
