YOOOOO I MADE IT IN THE VIDEO😂 the second lap when you’re coming to the finish line, if you look at those people in the red jackets, I’m behind the railing in the white shirt/blue jacket filming the race! Konnor Hathaway from Portland who you raced against was a high school classmate of mine (he was a senior, I was a freshman) I am now a freshman in college, but I’ve been watching you since then!

I checked the results on Saturday and thought the time was a great start to the outdoor season.
Moreover, watching you run, you raced! You looked strong and in control….had something in the end. Even your demeanor was night and day compared to last year….you were having fun out there! Imagine that! Lol

Really good race, only thing I would’ve said was make the move around that Portland guy with 300 to go. You got this result training in a very different way, its going to definitely pay off! Keep it up!

I think a positive from this race was that when you started to lose contact on the back straight on lap 2, you didn't panic and just used the turn to get back up there. Even nipped another guy at the end, which is nice.

800 is a hard distance for a 1500/miler to run first race up. If you ran another 800 next week you would be at least a second faster, another 800 the week after that would see you under 1:50. In the '70s & '80s, the heyday of Walker, Ovett, Scott etc., it was common for guys to start their season 90-95% fit and rely on the first few races to bring them up to peak form for the really big races later on. For a runner with a good endurance base frequent racing at 800 & 1500 is perfectly possible. I would look for as many quality races as you can find.
Oh what I’d do to run 1:52 again. I’m only 28 but have been training for marathons I doubt I could even break 2:04
