I love that Astarion and Shadowheart both have names that are still recognizable and Gale is named Explosion at first and after you learn his actual name, it changes to "at the end". Like damn xD.
8:15 Makes complete sense as well. It's just like how you use "Lame" in English. Someone who is incapable of speaking is "Silenced" in Dutch for example the word for being Silenced or Mute is "Stom" However "Stom" is also "Stupid" just like how "Lame" is used for someone who cannot move or cannot move well but also used as a negative expression.

(Dutch changed very little throughout history with the many disadvantages and advantages that that brings.) but never heard of this one before gonna guess it's just like "give" (to give someone away in mariage and perhaps poison was also "given" by something I dunno) but that's crazy coincidence still.
@@_burningshadow_8010 You are exactly right - gift comes from "given", as in you giving someone away to be married and giving someone poison! Nice one, I looked it up in Danish to double check. And as for silence becoming stupid, that could happen just in English, silent -> dumb -> stupid
@@kabla7472 Yes I mean I don't doubt it used to be the same in english especially in old English before they "ruined/broke" the entire language into a nonsensical inconsistent mess but it's not used like that in modern English anymore at least not much as far as I'm aware. Like you don't call someone "dumb" instead of "mute" whereas in Dutch you "sort of" do to be clear a more accurate translation of Dumb = Dom (Stupid) yet "Stom" doesn't usually mean "unintelligent" although it can, but often it's more like "that sucks" "Dat is stom" And when you refer to someone as "Stom" they are either actually a Mute or it's more meant like "Mean" or sometimes Idiotic/Moronic. Whereas "Dom" always concerns (lack of) intelligence. But yes the way Dumb can still be used like that is defenitly the Equivelant of stom/verstomd But it's just like a word like "Trek" they still have the word but 90% of the time they'll use "Trac" or "Pull" instead.

The VOD that's on this channel has it, but surprisingly I didn't get the scene where he's on top of you in this playthrough even tho I've always gotten it before
I guess so I have gotten that scene in over 5 playthroughs so was super surprised. I'm doing a randomizer on stream these days and astarion did get that cutscene and he's getting featured more in general so he should be in the next vid!
I love that you just get "STUPID". See it from a roleplay perspective and your enemies just received an unhealthy amount of brain damage but just for a few seconds
I'm so glad this popped up in my recommended I keep rewinding every couple of seconds to get every detail of this it's absolutely glorious I'm laughing so hard I'm crying
This was great, my favourite was the zone of stupid and the fact one of the backgrounds can simply be fraud lol, and some of the spell names were great I think maybe for the narration it would be good to have a visual distinction when it's stream audio vs narration like maybe screen blur or cut to/add into frame a facecam of the narration? Just some ideas to make it a little less jarring
It always amazes my that google is able to translate numbers - something that shouldn't be able to interpret different way - to completely different numbres
Pff... Just always pick "Option 1" in dialogues and do the top doable choice in the rolls. You'll end up being a generic goodguy with tonns of gold, XP... and horse powers))
you says Baldur's gate weirdly haha. even the NPCs in-game do not say it like that. its Bawlders gate, not bahllders gate, trust me, im from the country DnD is written in haha
i don’t think a baldurs gate video has ever made me laugh as much as this has… thank you for blessing my brain with this video 🐺 i would love to see a full playthrough of this lobotomycore shit

We eagerly await year after year

now that's a religion worth praying for
Ok, but honestly "Heavy Brain Twist" sounds like some 9th lvl 'war-crime' type spell
Maybe Zevlor said something rude about your tie and your character got mad

I noticed something like this as well! "1D12 marriage damage" could be because of the swedish word "Gift" which both mean marriage and poison.

@naivety you're gonna be trying to play a serious run one day and say something like "ill use skate shoes on the guy i used 'hug that person' on"
Commenting to boost this cos this is fricking amazing! I kept giggling like a schoolgirl the whole video 😂
if enough people do that I might have to come back to it with a few more friends
The artifact 's descriptuion being "He is tied up" makes a surprising amount of sense once you know wht it's deal is, good job Google Translate!

The spell is invoke duplicity
I hope the next step is for someone to make a mod that makes the answers true again, meaning you actually start wearing a tie etc. :D
i actually have tears in my eyes
Use this mod as The Dark Urge for accurate brain damage gameplay

Kudos for the experiment!
My God. I laughed so much during this video. This translations were really good
Poison being called marriage makes so much sense to me as a swede. In swedish poison is "gift" and being married is also "gift".
Damn, failed the game check
haha This looks so MUCH FUN!
