As we get older, and we really understand this song, and were we are all headed is very unsettling. The end is different for everyone. I think back offen, about going back to my old home. As in the song, I know Dean must have been also, thinking about the words he was singing about. But being the professional that he was, he sang this song, this time with more depth, truth, and sorrow than he did in the 1960s. Dean Ford had passed on, and may he RIP. His music, especially this song, can not be buried and forgotten. Every generation needs to hear it. That is truth of a MASTERPIECE. Also it is timeless and relvent. Hey Dave, great chatting with you. The wife and I are heading out to Mesa in October. Yarnfest 2023. I still have a lot of footage of Dean I will try to release. Some in the studio working on Reflections and Glasgow Road. Some of his live performances. Funny thing was, we tried to add a bagpipe to Reflections, but never could get it to sound right. Have you heard the Darlin Oh Darlin song I did posthumously for Dean? It's on UA-cam..
@TheFrenge Hi. Sorry it took so long to reply. I was laid up for a while. I looked, but I could not find out much about Yamfest in October 2023 at Mesa. I saw the info on the feast in April. Mesa is about 3 hours from here. I never heard: Darlin Oh Darlin, I will check it out. I never got COVID 19, as of yet, and I hope I never do. Na, I don't think a bagpipe on Reflections would sound too good. Maybe a violin for the middle of that song or a deep sounding saxophone. So you have a lot of raw footage of Dean. Is it Dean and Marmalade? Or Dean himself. Does this make sense, spliting the footage to just the studio, for one part, and the other part, just live performances? Just a thought to make it easier. Editing, as you know, can get hairy. It has broken under 100° F degrees in the Phoenix area, where Yamfest will be at. A lot of temperature records were broken this summer. Here in Sierra Vista, it is usually 10° F cooler than the Phoenix area. As you can guess, by my age, I am retired. When I was a teenager, I went to the Monterey Pop Festival, but I could only go for one day. I picked Sunday, and the headliners for this festival were: Friday, Big Brother and The Holding Company with Janus Joplin, Saturday, The Who, and Sunday, Jimmy Hendrix. This was 1967, a year before Woodstock. It was awesome. Also, in the 60s, I went to Altimont and saw the Stones. That was a free concert , they made the movie, Give Me Shelter, mostly about this concert. They were the big concerts I saw. Living in the San Francisco Bay area, I saw a lot of other concerts, I even saw King Crimson at Winterland. You know something strange, all of these concerts I went to, in California, I never bought advanced tickets. We never had to. I don't know how it is over there, but here, it was simple and easy to go to concerts. Back in the East Coast, I knew people were always buying advanced tickets. Also, back in 1966-1971, in the summer, there were usually free concerts in San Francisco State Park. The free concerts were mostly local, but with Steve Miller Band, Jefferson Airplane, It's A Beautiful Day, Cold Blood, and a lot of others, that went nationwide. I grew up with Tommy on South Main Street in the Whifflet, he was my best wee friend for many years and he will live forever with me in his music. I reconnected with him when he moved to L.A. He never complained even though Parkinsons was taking his tool on him. Long may his memory never be forgotten. Billy Blades.

Yes, I recorded and video'd him earlier that year (2018) .. just took a little while to get the video produced. We knew that Parkinson's was taking it's toll, but never expected his passing so soon. He was such a dear person.
