Hey Danny l use elastic to hold my outdoor and indoor Tomatoes up that way they can sway in the breeze and and not cut into the stems like if you were using string or that wire coated in rubber or plastic.Them little gems will definitely work out they look very healthy....good job and thanks for sharing ❤
Hi Danny, thanks for another fab video. Congratulations on getting your nemesis little gems to grow! I love your bell idea, Have a lovely Easter, and week ahead xx
We had leek MOTH for the first time (to my knowledge) last year. During the summer. Caught one under the butterfly netting I had on to keep the amorous pigeons from snapping plants. When I visited RHS website to research it, it seemed RHS had also extended the two leaf MINER seasons as well. Anyway, the moth is here. Best keep mesh on alliums from seedling (in their modules/pots) to harvest. Even then, the 3mm leaf MINER insect will crawl through the tiniest of stretched gaps in mesh and along the ground and under the from the sides. 🤦🏼♀️ The leek MOTH is larger.
Oh thank you! Yes I never take the nets off unless I have a pest inside that needs sorting. It's always easier to keep things netted. I prefer the white nets as I can see the weeds if they appear and gives in more light. Danny 🌱
Yes! It was lovely to plant up down there. I need to get better so I can finish the grooming of that plot. Such a good find that potting Station. I was so lucky! Danny 🌱
@@TheGrowUpChannel I was teaching one summer the first time I saw a hedgehog in the wild. It was crossing a parking lot and we went over and pet it. Such a sweet experience! My biggest problem is getting up after getting down in the garden. Best thing is nice sturdy handles to get back up.
Glad to see you soldiering on Danny! You have the best friends for sure! Here in New Mexico, my land is caliche soil. In other words, soil cement. When I grew my sweet potatoes, I grew them in 3 straw bales. As the season progressed, the bales composted which fed the potatoes and I harvested enough potatoes for the year. Plant those slips in the hottest part of the garden and you can eat the leaves which are edible for you and your feathered girls. I am so excited for you and your adventurous soul. Take care

i also find little gem hard to germinate, some years. it's weird! As you say other lettuce germinate well. I have a whole tray full at the mo. Will share them with plot neighbours. I've been busy in the garden and the allotment today. Planted my pink panther onion starts. Looking very healthy. Put them in the bed where i had winter kale that has finished now. Covered back over with the mesh that was already on the hoops. I lost a whole bed of leeks early last year. Never had leaf miner before- didn't even know about it until last year. Happy gardening, Danny 🙂
They are an enigma! But happy we both have some little gem. I hope you didn't put the onion sets In the same bed you had leaf miner last year 🫤 they overwinter! If so get then out now haha Danny 🌱

Why arent people made to keep their cats indoors from dusk to dawn……dogs cant roam free so why cats who do so much damage……sorry guys a pet beef with me Messed some of my seedlings well seeds by using 4” pot and putting several seeds in. They germinated but root development i found not good despite first two true leaves for three weeks, put out for half hour ……bye bye seedlings others doing better but wont make that mistake again ive always used more like plug pots before. Luckily still few weeks over here to get reseeding. Put broad beans out in raised bed and planted seeds have netted for safety. Keep going slow Danny you will get there. Those hyacinths are beautiful always loved those as was the hedgehog. Looking greatDanny Danny have a look at old big lampshades you could even look at tapestry/embroidery rings or make one of wire big circle one smaller circle with wire between then cover with you net Something to make when you have quiet time??????
Well I have to agree with you, but also selfishly disagree too haha. I don't mind the cats at the plot at night. Keeps the rats away haha. They never ever dig wee or mess on my plot. Everything here is containers, it takes more time to sort it out.
Hey! Its never a race. Enjoy the process of gardening over anything else 😊 thank you my ribs wee certainly on the mend. Danny 🌱
It's not so much a competition as frustration because I am behind everything due to a bronchial infection. Argh 😤. Breathing is required. 😂
Yes breathing is more important haha happy easter!
They're all a bit odd on my allotment. You know the type that stand staring at you and not talking or saying anything 😅 Not people I'd like to invite over anyway. You're lucky to have a nice community.
😂😂😂 oh we get them here too! Don't worry 😂
Off to check out orange balm now 😂 we haven’t got one of those 😂😂
Well you can sow seeds or next year I'll have cuttings to give away 😊🌱
Happy Easter, Danny! Peace-
Happy Easter! 🐰 Danny 🌱
If you take your wheel to halfords, they pump it up with slime, it only cost £10
Hello.. what wheel ? 😄
Wheelbarrow
Where do you get those metal containers? Enjoy your content ❤
The raised beds ? Suttons 😊
👍
Thank you Locke 😊🌱
Invasores nocturnos
Haha indeed! 😄
My onions are in my polytunnel, will they be safe in there from this leaf miner?.... I'm new to all this gardening
Hey! They will br mote protected and you may not have allium leaf miner issues in your area. Ask other gardeners around you if there's leaf miner issues. I've never had huge issues but it'd always better to be safe than sorry. Ps welcome to gardening! Danny 🌱
The slugs are sobad with me this year even my seedlings in my porch have been decimated so I have anxiety putting my onions out
And my geds are so wet the soil is like a porridge 😭.
Oh wow! I'll be adding my nematodes this week on a showery day. Maybe consider them. They work a dream for me every year. Danny 🌱
@@TheGrowUpChannel I use them for vine weevil and have failed to control them so far and have lost over £200 of shrubs and perennials this past 12 months, I've not tried them for slugs but will do as my garden is now a slug fest! I have toads in my small Polytunnel and seem to be keeping the numbers down.
Hope the ribs are healing 😃😃
That's a pain! Vine weevil are such a pain too. I sometimes wonder if we are gardeners or pest battlers haha! Good luck with the slugs! Wish I had toads! Happy Easter. Danny 🌱
@@TheGrowUpChannel I have beaten the slugs and Vine weevil with one container
As bought those cheap plastic paddeling pools and simply have a 60 litre bucket
Sat a concrete block with a water barrier
Nothing that crawls can get my lettice or
Rhubarbs and it's also Mole proof as my Moles have also come back for the Banter🤣.
@ibrstellar1080 😂😂 you are not allowed to say that M word on my channel!!!!!! 😂👍
Can I ask what kind of mic you using with your gopro?
You certainly can. Firstly, you need a go pro media mod to attach it. Then I have a rode mic 2.
Why arent people made to keep their cats indoors from dusk to dawn……dogs cant roam free so why cats who do so much damage……sorry guys a pet beef with me
Messed some of my seedlings well seeds by using 4” pot and putting several seeds in.
Looking greatDanny
Danny have a look at old big lampshades you could even look at tapestry/embroidery rings or make one of wire big circle one smaller circle with wire between then cover with you net Something to make when you have quiet time??????
Well I have to agree with you, but also selfishly disagree too haha. I don't mind the cats at the plot at night. Keeps the rats away haha. They never ever dig wee or mess on my plot. We always joke they go to Lisa's plot for that. She's always fuming. Haha. Oh that's a shame about your seedlings but yes plenty of time! Thank you I'm taking my time. Cheryl has been a god send again this week. Digging holes and planting out things for me. She's a true friend and a great gardener. That's a great idea for the carrot bed! Thank you. Danny 🌱
