What a great video Danny loved the intro walk looks a really quiet place to be you are so lucky to live in a beautiful place to live and thrive.Thank you so much for your time Danny
Loved the matching autumnal outfit ❤ Oooohhh I wonder what the trail cam will pick up...hopefuly not a mole hee hee I think it's mice 🐀 I'm trying to do the same in the poly, keep around the plants wet but the ground dry 😬 Enjoyed catching up with your week on the plot ❤
Fancy boots! Plenty done there Danny - you've encouraged me to get my strawberry runners going in their baskets. Now get that shed sorted out so you can get cosy!
I put wool in the bottom of my hanging baskets and on top for my strawberries as it keeps the weeds away and keeps them nice and warm during winter and keeps them moist in summer.
The polytunnel is really coming together for you, Danny 😊 Great tip about the coir compost for the surface. Lovely update overall, best wishes, Maiju 💚🌿
Thanks Maj! Yeah I found the coir when dry.. they just don't like it. I'm trialling ot again this year. Polytunnel is taking shape now. Plenty to do though! 😊🌱
Mellow yellow 😂 look at you all matching. So funny catching Linda on the trail cam 😂 so lovely of you to share a home cooked dinner!!! I’ve seen quite a few mice around so like Gemma, I thinks it’s probably mice too. Can’t wait to see though. Poly filling up nicely there Danny ❤ Catch you soon x Allie & Tricia xx ❤
Great update once again Danny , I see what you mean about your happy place with that smile as you entered your polytunnel , i love the sound of your plans for the future cant wait to see them come to fruition 👍
Planted my globemaster today and had one with a touch of rot I've pulled that off but don't know if it will get through. I planted mine in pots incase I move though. Use 9 and make a leaf mold bin on the end exactly like the compost bays, come over check mine out mate I'm off work atm
Love your beanie, welly boots, rucksack and yellow. The New tunnel looking Grown up already. 🤞🤞Hope the nematodes will do the job. 🌱🍁🍀🌱🍂🌱🍃 Gold star🌟 to Cheryl, You are a good friend, funny and a supportive commenter
Hey Danny loved that intro today. It's all looking very autumnal now. I bet it feels good getting things planted out in the tunnel already, you've done a cracking job. Those new boots look great, should keep your feet nice and dry and warm through the winter and onwards.
Ah thanks jamie! Yes it's been hard work, I can't lie.. people forget how much goes into the soil prep before anything else haha! But I'm glad the tunnel is almost finished now :)
All ticking along Danny. Given me some inspiration to pop to my local nursery on my days off to see if they have any plugs left. Put my garlic in my tunnel this year but it’s my 1st winter with the it so will try & get some greens in 🎉
Hi Danny, we have wildlife life cameras on our plots and have had some great footage of foxes jumping around,my hubbys bales of hay, having great fun❤ the birds gavingca bath in my pond too, just lovely ❤ your polytunnel is lovely and your have lots of plants to plant too. I hope you find out what is digging holes in your bed, will be interesting to see the footage. Grear tip on using coir,as a mulch to deter slugs 😊 great video update and looking fiward yo the next one. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
You need a coat hook by the door 👍. Fancy boots 👢 and match the hat 😂. 4:08 is that a slug on the poly behind you 😮😮. Some amazing spring bulbs can’t wait for the spring colours again. You need a team of workers for sure but your getting it done you just don’t sleep 😴. 😂😂 only you would smell a bucket of shitty water 🤦♀️. You should touch base as you do with Reolink that is whose cameras I use they are awesome. Oh that reminds me I have to take in my other strawberry 🍓 plants. Fab update Benny of the Mustard 💛💛, have a super day, Jackie ❤
Thank you for that encouragement to spend.. coat hook ordered haha! Oh no it's a leaf stuck to the plastic... and yes, only I would smell that bucket. When will I learn haha!
You could leave the nasturtiums and rotting branches as a wildlife area. Caterpillars love nasturtiums and so do bees. We all love the butterflies but no-one thinks that they have to go through the caterpillar stage first. Just a thought ❤
Hey Pat. Yes I'm in no rush to remove the nasturtiums..sadly it can't be a nature corner, the new sheds going there.. but I'll leave them for as long as I can..winter is almost here 🥶❄️
When I saw your yellow walking down the lane IDid go oh they are lovely not thinking they were Merry boots. The Merry people are from down here (Aus) in Melbourne I’ve got a fushia pink pair lucky you Danny getting them as a gift. How did they find you on the other side of the world. They are really well made I also bought a purple pair for my friend in Devon
Another lovely update, Danny! The alliums look great 😍 I’ve put a few new alliums in for next year too, which I picked up at GWL. Look forward to seeing your spring bulb update soon too. Also excited to see the mystery solved! I wonder what the trail cam will uncover 🤔🕵🏻 (apart from Linda 😂) Have a brilliant weekend and happy gardening! 😊🪴💚
Nice boots! Very colour coordinated! It’s like you’ve entered the horse world of Matchy-Matchy 😄 Great job on getting the polytunnel planted up. Looks great seeing the space become so productive doesn’t it? Your tunnel is skinned as tight as mine if you don’t have space above those extra ridge bars. I forgot I have some s hooks. Where did I put them?🙈 Trail cam looks a good one. Looking forward to seeing the mystery solved. I laughed out loud when you smelt in the tub 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Great update!
Yes it's as tight as yours clare. Oh shoot I'm glad you mentioned the trailcam I forgot to add the link! I'll add now! I knew you'd laugh at the stinky barrel 😂😂😂
Hi Danny lot of work you put in, those slugs, we don’t get a lot of things like you all over here wish we did so we have to work with what we’ve got your garden always look so nice have a wonderful evening❤❤❤
I don't get a lot of slugs, as a rule... however this new plots been left for a while so things have bred and bred... I'll get on top of it all though 😊🌱
Fab update Danny I love those wellies they look fabulous on you with your matching hat and rucksack 👍😄 Your polytunnel looks amazing, you worked so hard to get it looking so nice. You do love a gadget don't you but fair play they are always very useful Nice white tub there Danny 👍 your own fault for smelling it 😂 Nah don't think I'd have taken it. You're welcome to it 😂. Polytunnel very useful for storing bamboo canes like we have done too with ours. 👍 Don't you be putting too much in that polytunnel, you need to make space for the Feel Good Garden Café franchise 🤭 🌻☕☕☕🌻😂 Your second plot is taking shape on the one side and you'll soon have the other side looking good too. It came from a hanging basket 🤭🙄 Have a great week and see you soon. Linda ❤️
Haha I was only joking linda. I'd give you the smelly barrel if you asked for it😂 it's all coming together slowly but surely! I may take some more strawberry plants. Thank you!
Hi Danny xx I love the colours xx I have a wholly hating that's orange xxx and a bright green coat and blue gloves x we would look great together xx your Vidio is brillent XX🧸🧸🧸🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛ I reckon it's a little mouse xxx🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀
Weird aren't they! Make sure you don't mistake them for water retention crystals in some compost. Some have done this and thrown the compost. They are designed to keep the compost moist. These were definitely slug eggs. They cluster them together. Slugs can lay up to 300 eggs in a clutch and up to 50 clutches per season! That's a lot of slugs!!
Hi Danny, the polytunnel is full of goodies already! You really don't hang about do you? Those brassicas are growing so fast. I think you may have a frog or toad in that raised bed, but time will tell (or rather, your trailcam will tell lol) Take care, have a great week ahead, see you on Wednesday xx
Haha thanks Jean! Yes I don't stop! So much planned and so much done this week too! You'll see! The hole mystery has been resolved... to be continued haha!
OMG! Forgetting! Who'd a thunk it! and 🤮 in the bushes! 🤣🤣🤣You are toooo funny. I am surprised that you have to buy pallets. I can just watch for them or check the ads and pick them up for free, granted thus need to pick up and bring home myself. Do you have a thermometer for your polytunnel? How much weight can you hang on the cross bracing in the poly? Is there a limit? Great video as usual.
Ha! I just bought some Ambassador Alliums yesterday with other spring bulbs.😅 That’s me, say I’m going to do X Y Z and kaplooie-nothing. That’s what they make tomorrow for. O-Oh maybe a vole if you have them there, or mouse. lol, detective work at the plot! I never bought nematodes before as I wonder if they are even alive as they are pricey. It’s raining here also so my X Y Z won’t get done again. Well, there’s always tomorrow. Thx Danny!
Haha we all do this! Never get all the work planned done, always another day / week 🤣🤣 I'm looking forward to seeing the ambassadors coming up too. All will be revealed next week I'm sure. Ive not checked the camera yet aha
Your light bulb moment was similar to my one am using old fertiliser bags to store the leaves, then can pile them onto each other, they hold 500kg of fertiliser, they are empty, we get four to 6 each year.
Lovely intro Danny! Kinda sums up the last 10 days we have had with the cloudy and foggy weather. Great boots and disappointed you didn't do a catwalk in the poly! lol ;o) Are they fluffy inside or padded? I love alliums too. They remind me of cake pops and fireworks with their explosion of colours. I gagged a bit too when you smelt that tub! Good find though. Are you ever tempted to shout "Mint Sauce" over the fence back at the sheep? :o) It's a shame you can't move the greenhouse up a bit and stick the compost bays in the corner, so it doesn't get shaded out, it is what it is. We are hoping to build a new compost bay with pallets and using the darlek for leaf mould or mulch. It has been on the to do list for a while but we keep forgetting, so hopefully we can get on it over winter. Our rat is still plaguing the garden and has eaten one of the newly planted cabbages :o( It is so brazen in the garden too and is digging everything up. Are you allowed to use humane traps so you can relocate what ever it is? Those nematodes are amazing! We used them indoors for the fungus gnats and it got rid of them all. Annoyingly enough, i then took another pepper plant up to the bathroom to over winter and i think it had aphids as it has infested some of the pepper plants. I think i will do another round of them soon as i think aphids do more damage to the plants up top. I have been spraying them with a washing liquid and veg oil mix in the meantime. Dragonfli do a 10% one off discount when you sign up to their website. I think i might some for slugs and snails too for outside. Have you seen those bins Eli and Kate have in the greenhouse for potting, like compost, vermiculite and perlite? Would you have something like that in the poly or greenhouse? I bet it feels nice to plant some stuff in poly? Well looks like we are due some sunshine next week. Hope you have a good one. Take care!
Haha used to do that as a kid to the local sheep 😂 If it is a mouse.. i'm happy for a mouse to live there for winter. The compost bays will get loads of sun where they are going in summer. The tunnel won't actually shade them. There's a good 12ft between the new bays and the tunnel. The sun will be high in the sky by then 😊🌱 no I'd never recommend storing compost in a greenhouse etc.. ive found it dries up very quickly in those drums. Premium space in the tunnel I think aha! Maybe in the new potting shed.. we shall see :)
@@TheGrowUpChannel I think if i were to have sheep they would be called that, mint jelly, Rosemary, etc. Glad i am not the only one! haha I meant the greenhouse getting shaded during low light. What will it be used for now you have the poly with the staging for seedlings? Ah ok. We keep any big bags of compost in the garden and the sterile compost in doors in an underbed storage box under the breakfast bar. All of the vermiculte, perlite and fertilisers are in the brick workshop. It is in need of a clear out and modification for more food storage. Sounds like it is going to be a big fancy shed. I bet you must be the talk of the allotment with the poly. Have you had any feedback since you got it installed? Seems like a lot of work there to clear it out for the bays, with the old shed still there. Don't forget to take some time for yourself. x
I've got this dilemma about moving the fruit trees. I really want to bring them with me, but just not sure where to put them... Haha you noticing a tiny hole in a pot - every morning I go out into the garden and the squirrels have gone berserk in every plant pot they can find!
It didn't all go through was meant to say smiley when getting towards and opening the doors of the tunnel it's great feeling when u got a new one. Awsum
Hey Danny There are nematodes against snails to! Have you tried them? Do they work? Cuz for now i use eco slugpalets to save my dhalias😢 but i really hate to use it. So hopfully u know if the nematodes work 😊 Btw very nice video again thankyou😊
Hey! The slug nematodes won't kill the snails, but they will avoid the area. Yeah I avoid slug pellets. They also look weird. Blue pellets around plants haha. Thank you for watching the video :)
Fab video, love all the different things you're doing with the hanging baskets and the slug defences! Can I suggest something I'm currently experimenting with? Last year I wrapped my stems of plants with sandpaper with the idea slugs wouldn't cross over it to climb the plant.. it worked. This year I'm doing the same but using waterproof sandpaper so it doesn't need replacing.. might be a winner for you. Best parts is you don't need to replace it the entire season, it doesn't break down and you're not adding chemicals or substances that will alter the soil.
That's interesting! Well.. I've planned the coir now for that bed, but I'll try some sandpaper outside worth a go.. let me know how your trials go this year too. Goodluck! Thank you 😊🌱
I love my trailcam, always catch all sorts of wildlife.
I love mine too! So handy to have too! 😊🌱
What a great video Danny loved the intro walk looks a really quiet place to be you are so lucky to live in a beautiful place to live and thrive.Thank you so much for your time Danny
Why thank you so much Val 😊 yes very lucky. It's quiet here, generally 😊

I hope it's not a rat or mole haha. Yes it's a tough job keeping a tunnel the right moisture in the beds. Danny 🌱
Fancy boots! Plenty done there Danny - you've encouraged me to get my strawberry runners going in their baskets. Now get that shed sorted out so you can get cosy!
Haha thanks Jane! Yes inreally need to get my stove sorted. Won't be long now 😊
I put wool in the bottom of my hanging baskets and on top for my strawberries as it keeps the weeds away and keeps them nice and warm during winter and keeps them moist in summer.
Ahh! That's a great idea!
Love the new boots. All looking good for the Polytunnel growing
Me too! Thanks Emma 😊🌱

Looking fwd to the new compost bays & its a great idea to use the other ones for leaf mulch xx
Thank you penny! Yes I think so too, they are handsome compost bays, so would be a shame to not use them. Danny 🌱
That barrel is ideal for early carrots and start them off in the Greenhouse and put some hoops to put a net on it to stop carrot fly.
It's also great for burning the hairs off a welshmans nostrils 😂😂😂

Hi Danny, loved the start nice boots. Great video loved the ending.
Only joking will continue to watch.....
🤣🤣🤣🤣 you rascal! Thank you!
Its been a murky week weatherwise. Very damp and I think that's encouraging the weed growth. The raised bed in the tunnel is lovely.
I think you're right. I've noticed the weeds are popping their heads a little too often at the moment
Always watch til the end. Very professional upload as usual.
Thank you Cheryl. You're a loyal friend and viewer for sure x
I put coffee grounds around my brassica with the copper wire pot scrubbers and working OK so far.
Either it works or they'll be up all night from thr grounds eating more 😂
Nice video Danny. There's always so much to do, although sniffing old nettle water is never good. I thought you held it together really well.

Oh that's a great idea helen!!!
It's a shame you can't move the greenhouse up a bit and stick the compost bays in the corner, so it doesn't get shaded out, it is what it is.
Glad i am not the only one! haha
I meant the greenhouse getting shaded during low light.
It's a huge headache for me, too, Kerry! I want the fruit trees but where to put them! I caught a squirrel on the plot today 😊🌱
@TheGrowUpChannel I hope you put it back
Oh not literally caught.. I meant seen haha
@TheGrowUpChannel 😉🐿️
Found those trays at B&Q for the container wise seed trays you showed on your video £1.95 bargain

I shall send you a link now. Ive had it a few years. Very light and well made ♡ x
Thanks for the video, love tge new boots.
Please could you share the details/link for the solar camera?
Thank you George!! I have shared the details to the trailcam 😂😂 in the details lol!
@TheGrowUpChannel lol, sorry I missed that. Thanks
@GeorgesBits oh that's okay! I wrote a lot this week aha!
Henry VIII if he slayed
I don't know what this means 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Danny, just wondered if you can remember where you got your compost bins from 🙏
I think they were sent to me by the company primrose :) check out their site. They are so much easier to use and easy to build too. 😊🌱
@@TheGrowUpChannel Thanks, i'll have a look 🙂
Hey Danny
There are nematodes against snails to! Have you tried them? Do they work?
Cuz for now i use eco slugpalets to save my dhalias😢 but i really hate to use it. So hopfully u know if the nematodes work 😊
Btw very nice video again thankyou😊
Hey! The slug nematodes won't kill the snails, but they will avoid the area. Yeah I avoid slug pellets. They also look weird. Blue pellets around plants haha. Thank you for watching the video :)
@TheGrowUpChannel ohh thats funny! How do the snails know? Haha super intresting tough!
@PlayWhitLife stingy on their bums 🤣
@@TheGrowUpChannel hahaha ohh amaizing im gonna try those next year
Hi Danny, Did you have to walk back and forth to retrieve your camera!! For the opening sequence?
No as the camera was set at the entrance of the gate lol I had to walk away and towards. That's showbiz 🤣
@TheGrowUpChannel use a drone to follow you as you walk, going to wear your new boots out, with all the walking.
Why do you leave your cameras in the middle of the road?
Sing-a-long with Nancy, "These boots are made for walkin'!"
Because I needed to showcase the yellow boots in as many angles as possible steven 😂
@@TheGrowUpChannel 🤣
Do u have a link for the nematodes? Thanks
Silly me, I didn't add to the description. Just added now Vicky 😀
prick out lol lol only u hehe xx

No. Are they suede shoes? 😮
No? Welly boots. 😊

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Awesome video. Have you seen invitation of mini chainsaw via email today?
I have and I've replied. Many thanks 😊📨
@@TheGrowUpChannel Sorry for disturb,we have not seen your reply via email.
Lol mucky water guaranteed to start the gag reflex, nothing smells worse than 6 month old dead slugs in water though.
It was rank haha! When will I learn 🤣
