    This vs the carbon zion ?

    • @MikesArchery
      @MikesArchery  2 роки тому

      Totally different price points. I realize they are both considered a carbon riser but they are not the same. If the price is no issue then go for the Xpedition or even a PSE or Hoyt but if you just want a nice shooting lighter riser then go toward the Zion.

    Speed where it should be? For an ibo of 350fps you should have been getting 304-305 FPS it’s coming in at a solid 327 ibo

      @@MikesArchery ibo standards are 2 fps per 1lb of draw. And 1 FPS per 3 grains or arrow weight. So yea 16fps for arrow weight being 400 grains. That brings it to 297 FPS. 10 FPS for 29 inch draw. Thats 307 FPS. It’s set at 64lbs so add your 6 pounds and that’s 12 FPS. That brings you to 319 FPS at best. Add your 8 FPS for the weight on the string and your at 327 ibo
      Lots of calculators out there that make this much easier obviously you can’t post pics on UA-cam. But yes at the end of the day it’s a 327 FPS ibo bow.

      @@MikesArchery take your v3 27 for example. You tested at 29 70 400 grains and got 308.
      Here’s the math. 10 FPS for 29 inch draw brings you to 318fps 16 FPS for 400 grain arrow. 334fps
      8fps for weight on the string 20 grains give or take. (Monkey tails peep sights d loops etc...) now your at 342fps. Which is exactly where it’s suppose to be.

    Thanks for a straightforward and honest review! Not too shabby of a bow! Not a fan of the “GO” factor for a hunting bow, but if you’re a pull-thru shooter you’re prolly in shape enuf to wait some, just hopefully not too long! A relaxed shooter may have a problem with that aspect though!

    Man that is a shame. Im sure its a nice shooter and light, but that is not even remotely close to stated IBO. That bow is a mid 320s IBO at best and at only 30" ATA, its a snail. The X37 is the one I would be interested in, but if the 30 misses IBO by 20+ FPS, then how slow will the X37 be?

  • @ponce1521

    • @jordanpowell228
      @jordanpowell228 3 роки тому +1

      You have to consider a few things, one ibo is 30 in draw length, 70lbs shooting a 350 grain arrow. This was 1 inch shorter, 5lbs lighter, and 50 grains more on the arrow weight. The extra in of power stroke is roughly 10 fps alone maybe more depending on cam efficiency as i believe they are hybrid cams. I do not doubt that this bow puts up solid ibo numbers at spec but we shall see. I wouldn't write it off yet though. I too im dying to get that 33 in bow in my hands

    Yikes. My bow is 3.25lbs, 29.25 ATA, and shoots 295fps for a fraction of the price of the Xpedition. I would have expected more bang for the buck. I’ve been major shopping for another bow and so far am shocked at the new “innovations” of the Big Brand Bow companies. Makes me want to wait for the bow to go on sale or buy a shops dusty clearance sale of last few years models. I’m stuck thinking If it’s not broken don’t fix it, but I’m still wanting to get another bow. This years 2021 line up of all the companies are making me freeze up.......... 🥶

    Good review, little bit of misinformation here. This is NOT a carbon riser bow and it's not marketed as such. Curt and the team at Xpedition told us this is an aluminum alloy called X-loy by Magnite. These bows are adjustable let-off as well, they can go from 75-90% let-off. The sliding draw stops allow for let-off adjustment and they can be set up with a long or short valley with a few cable twists. In terms of weight I think they're right on it. Our X33 was 4lbs with the limb dampeners, 3.7 without. So right on the number.

      Did you even watch the video? We clearly say that this is a proprietary blend of carbon and alloys called X-loy, and talk about the weights should be spot on but we had our reps personal bow that we couldn’t take the Hamskea off of, so we had to do some deduction off the weight that we got for that Hamskea. Also we were told that the bows were all 80% letoff.

    • @ianmcgaughey1
      @ianmcgaughey1 3 роки тому +1

      @@MikesArchery yes I watched the video. I've been a dealer for X since 2014 so I know the bows very well. They are not all 80%, that's the standard set from the factory, the website even says it's adjustable. It's not marketed as a carbon riser bow because it's not a carbon riser bow. No where in any of X's marketing materials has it been marketed as such and that's why I said there's some misinformation on that. I was not disagreeing on the weight, just saying these bow really are as light as they say

Unless you have a 30 dl and shooting a 350 grain arrow and 70lbs with nothing on the string at all that ibo rating is about as useless as the tits on boar hog.
