Love the little nuggets of food history that you include when you share these fusion recipes with us. It's so fun to see how different food cultures have influenced each other in different places.
I can't imagine anyone watching her videos that doesn't appreciate how hard she works to make them flawless, informative, and fun - to say nothing of the fantastic recipes!! ❤❤😊
OMG! You got a haircut was my first thought, but I'm glad you're still you. Thanks for this new delicious recipe and the smart hack of twisting the pasta. 💜
Oh my! I had to wake up a little more to make certain I was seeing correctly! 👀 You look wonderful! I love your your hair cut/length. ❤ Absolutely beautiful! I'll be making this soon. Thank you, Mandy! ❤
Good Day Mandy, I grew up in NYC and frequently went to Chinatown and one of my favorite dishes was Cantonese Chow Mein but they served it over crispy hot noodles. I can still remember hearing the sizzle when they put the Beef and veggies over the noodles, so good. Have a Blessed and Beautiful Day ✝️
@@sorinbardas7317 I've used it for pan-fried noodles and it's fine. There's no reason not to use spaghetti; according to myth, the Italians didn't have pasta until Marco Polo brought it back from China!
I find if you just toss the pulverized ginger in, it works just fine. Instead of an egg white, I've been using a teaspoon of sesame oil. When it comes to the starches, I use a teaspoon of cornstarch and 1/4 tsp of baking soda like you. For anyone new to this, slicing your beef on an angle really helps you get those thin slices. 45 degree angle works well. I love your videos and you've taught me so much!!
Mm, mm, mm, Mandy! Another triumph, another beautiful and accessible creation by you in your studio-kitchen. Think of the thousands of people who will be cooking this soon! It's a wonderful thing to share! We love you, MmMandy!
I always love the videos Mindy posts, they're great and what I also like is that it's not always food, she also posts about types of knives and even how to sharpen them. Keep up the good work Mindy. 👍🏻
The hair style makes you look young and vibrant . Have always enjoyed watching your cooking as is clear and precise. Liked the substitute you give for the ingredients . Thank you
You're such a caring person, have New York strip steak in fridge now I cooked with grandkids this weekend and will eat tomorrow, wish I could follow your recipe friend ❤.
Growing in in the 70s, Chinese noodles were hard to come by since at home we often ate rice...My grandma use to use readily available italian pasta for our chow mien and our beef soup w noodles. I'm still fond of that combo, but my kids are glum when I run out of chinese noodles and use pasta instead lol... I'm sure most kids would love this though.
Wow! I am a new viewer and I learned so much in this one clip. You’re amazing. I love the way you connect the history and culture with the food! Right on my sister!💪
I've been making essentially this dish for many years now. The funny thing is, I never had a recipe. I just knew to use soy sauce, oyster sauce, a little sugar, corn starch, and some beef broth. That came from another recipe even further back in my history and I don't even remember what it was. One day I had some beef I wanted to stir fry but didn't know what else to put with it. I looked in the cupboard and found spaghetti noodles. I had scallions growing in the window box and garlic, and of course soy sauce and oyster sauce. Instead of black pepper I used dried and ground serano peppers. It was very good, and now I make it all the time!
After cramming CS Theory for 4 hours, this was refreshing and charming to watch! This looks absolutely amazing. I love the use of the pasta, and even learned something new with your twist trick for the noodles! I have a Teflon coated Wok I picked up at a thrift store cheap. I use it so often, I think it might be time to upgrade to one of you carbon steel woks soon! I love the hammered pattern on them!
I didn’t see this on your Patreon. But I’m glad it’s Here. Your haircut is Very cute. I’m sure your husband said it was a big change! Your recipe is Soo perfect for Anyone to cook!! I love that you still find recipes to cook for us who aren’t experimental with foods. You are unbelievable! ❤🎉
i often use spaghetti for my chow mein. i do like the texture of chow mein noodles (esp when frying them after cooking), but spaghetti's a solid substitute
Great tutorial, your methods are easy to follow, im definitely making this dish , i love mushrooms so i will add them ,it looks delicious and it really doesn't cost that much for the ingredients, new york
Oh o just made this but I made it with proper chow mein noodles and it’s now my favourite recipe of yours, beating the wonton soup one, for both taste and easiness to make.
Thank you for sharing this with us. I bought your wok a long time ago. It was the only one that would work on my electric stove and I still use it today. :)

Could you lower the cornstarch amount and use some of the starchy pasta water instead? (Only works if bronze die cut)
