If that's how it happened with his friends, the bar should have at least tried to make sure he had one of his friends with him. Bars with waterways nearby should be particularly cautious.
@chronixdubz I doubt that they followed him down the steps. If they had done it, someone would have found him before his life ended in the river.... gone too soon.... ❤😢 rest in paradise 🙏 the angels are now your friends.
I still can’t believe not ONE of his friends stayed with him. That would have made the difference, Riley should be alive today. If you’re all getting thst drunk, that you’re oblivious to your friends safety… DO NOT DRINK!
Bottom line, people needs to be careful when out partying. There has to be a limit for everything and that includes the amount of alcohol one consumes. I hope he rests in peace. 💔
So, no fraternity bro walked down the stairs with him as reported over and over. Clearly he is hammered! Security should have waited for one of the people he was with, and should have never allowed him to leave on his own alone! Negligence!
At least we can see what happened at the bar. I think he was trying to make it to his hotel but he was following the wrong directions in the opposite direction of his hotel and got lost. Im not sure why he didn't try to call his parents when he realized he was lost.
When he’s walking down the sidewalk you can see him trying to use the phone and struggling to see it well, and in the clip where he talked to the police officer, it sounded like he was on the phone saying “…the park…” to someone. Could have been trying to send voice messages because he was too inebriated to text clearly.
He went out a different door than he had entered and being inebriated it caused him to easily get turned around. A “friend” should have left with him; I use that word loosely because I’m thinking he didn’t actually have a true friend with him that fateful night. This was so preventable had the bar or one of the people from his party at the minimum called him an Uber. 😔
Why has no one mentioned why the bar staff told that he went out the front door? That is NOT the front door of Luke’s bar. Things still aren’t adding up
It is Luke's. There are two front doors. The one on the corner with the stairs out front. And then, right before you get to WannaB's there is the door that goes directly to the rooftop. It use to be Luke's rooftop sushi.
One friend went back to the table to tell the others. When they went outside to find him…. Riley was gone. Why didn’t Riley wait for his friends outside the bar? By the time they got outside…. He was gone. Stop blaming the friends. That’s just ridiculous. They did go out there but he had left. Stay sober…. Live longer. Dealing with drunk people is not as easy as one thinks. Many people who are drunk are nasty… it’s the alcohol…. It turns them into a monster. They said he was being loud or something inside the bar. Not every drunk person is going to cooperate with you… just because you’re their friend. I had a friend who every time she drank, she started crap with me. She’s no longer my friend. Sometimes people have to take responsibility for themselves. Stay sober…. Live longer.
Friend should of went with him and text the friends letting them Know he was being kicked out … shouldn’t have walked away … BUT that’s something they sadly have to live with and don’t wish bad on them .. we are all human and learn as we go! Sadly their friend lost his life that night! Praying for the family
The one friend that was already with him made the mistake going back to tell the others. This is sooooo sad. R.i.p riley💚
Drunk as could be. Fell off the steep embankment into the river. He may have had just enough presence of mind to remove his boots and soaked pants in an effort to stay afloat. Alcohol is simply poison.
I get it. The bar isn’t responsible and ultimately Riley was but he was clearly inebriated. To just kick someone out in that condition seems heartless. The fraternity were not his friends. He was clearly on his own that night. I believe someone targeted him, robbed him and pushed him in but he also could have fallen. Shame on people for abandoning a companion with them that night. They will have to live with that their whole lives.
So the water removed his boots and pants, but not his boxers and socks? Impossible., a person took his pants and boots and didn't want his boxers and socks.
This is a good example of why you shouldn't get intoxicated like this in public. Everyone else isn't to blame. He had a part in this too. He was with a bunch of other drunk friends. No one was making good decisions...not fair to blame friends.
People crying that the bar staff should have helped Riley have clearly never worked at a busy bar before or they'd know it's impossible to babysit every drunken patron in the building. What are they supposed to do? Walk every individual home? 🙄 What about taking accountability for oneself and being polite to staff? Why are the customer's bad decisions the bar staff's fault? Obviously it's a shame he passed away but unfortunately this is one of the dangers of drinking, take note and make sure you never put yourself in a position like this instead of complaining about everyone else and what they should have, would have or could have done. 🤫
They didn’t find any evidence that someone did something to him. He was very intoxicated and we can see that in the second film clip, where he ran head first into that sign pole or whatever it was. I know this same scenario has played out before with young men being found deceased, face down in water. His BAC was over the legal limit to drive a car so he was definitely impaired. And, none of the security cameras showed anything. This was an accident due to intoxication. Stay sober…. Live longer.
