I have watched loads of vids on FN styling and yours is by far the best! I hope you get more views. You're very articulate and positive in your explanations and don't even imply 'body shame' when referencing the shoulders. TY!
This was great! You are so articulate and your analysis is so clear. I have typed myself as FN (but carrying a fair bit of extra weight) and in terms of what I can and can't wear with success, everything you said about what does and doesn't suit Blake, I can apply to myself (just wish I was as beautiful as she is!). I've always known intuitively that too much waist emphasis wasn't a good thing, that I need natural , voluminous flowing hair, that I need a long vertical line with my clothes hanging from my shoulders and that I don't look good "done up" or glamorous and in fact suit the relaxed, low maintenance look that is my instinctive vibe. It is so helpful to see your clear analysis illustrated with such great photo choices. Really confirms me in my self-typing and what i had intuited already. It gives one so much more confidence to know what really suits one's body type. The first body typing system I came across was the fruit one and it made me hate myself, at the same time as realising it was a load of nonsense. I carry my excess weight on the bottom half, and following the rules of the fruit system I should emphasise the waist and build up the shoulders. That makes me look ridiculous! 50s silhouettes make me feel like mutton dressed as lamb and shoulder pads make me look like a gigantic stocky rectangle. My shoulders are already broad enough and actually I really like their shape and presence. Self typing as FN made me love the parts of my body that the fruit typing system had a problem with. That's why the Kibbe system is so great. I don't see the reference to "broad" being problematic as some people do because I think broad shoulders act like a coat hanger - it's great to be able to have my shoulders provide the structural frame for my outfits. It also means my body is more forgiving of a bit of weight gain than some other types, because the eye is drawn to the shoulders in a FN before the bum, tum, thighs etc, even though those are the places where the excess is (in my case anyway). This video just reinforced all the reasons why I love being FN!
I'm so glad this helped reinforce what you intuitively know! Broad shoulders are gorgeous and give clothing so much structure! The fruit body typing must have been made by someone biased towards an hourglass...which is the only non-fruit in the system haha.
Just a nerdy note: that jacket at 8:31 has an squared cut, same as many "ethereal" dresses and skirts. Somewhere I read the "ethereal" lines could work as the "romantic formula" for FN (as they are soft edged/wavy forms + length/vertical dimension :).
Excellent video! I recently learned about the Kibbe system, and was going between Dramatic and FN. I’ve watched several hours of Kibbe videos and this is actually the most helpful. Really great examples of what works and doesn’t. I could actually see myself in some of the outfits that work, and would not touch the ones that didn’t with a 10-foot pole. Gonna check out your dramatic video now to see if I feel more or less resonance, but pretty confidently leaning more FN. Also love your using Blake Lively as a reference. There are so many versions of FN, and I often see videos that don’t quite align with my physique (hence feeling in-between). Overall, really well done!
This was so helpful, thank you. I’ve been puzzled about my kibbie type for ages, but I keep coming back to Natural without really knowing why.... it’s been more of a process of elimination that brought me to thinking I’m a natural .. i.e. I’m too tall for this... I look frumpy in classic styles... etc... You’ve really helped me understand WHY I am a flamboyant natural!
Thank you so much for this video! I've been struggling with accepting that I might be a FN (still not quite sure if I'm FN or DC) because I didn't want to be the "manly" body type but you made me realize how beautiful this body type really is.
it is hard to say; you can't really define yourself off of one guideline or standard! within a "type" there is a lot of variety- some FN's have more A answers, some have more B. :)
@Sam Martin you know better than I, obviously, but when I read the characteristics of FN, one of the body types it said they wouldn't have was hourglass 🤔 I'm new to this though, so maybe misunderstood. It's fun to research though!
Your explanations are awesome! Very helpful. I just have one question. My hair is curly and and has some growth issues. it is constantly just above my shoulders and sometimes my clothes cannot hide my broad shoulders. Do you maybe know how to conceal them and make my look more feminine? I really do believe I am FN (My height is 175cm, weight 60kg) but the hair makes my appearance very different.
I’m not sure why but I just saw the age of adaline in which she starred in and she doesn’t seem wide. She has a long vertical line but not a wide enough horizontal line. She gives me SD vibes
Fiquei tão feliz em encontrar meu tipo de corpo, um Kibbe pra chamar de meu ♥️ O fato de podermos evidenciar os ombros ao invés de esconde-los, isso é fantástico.
I'm pretty sure Sarah Jessica Parker is a Flamboyant Natural. She is 160cm. I've been thinking I couldn't be FN because I was short (164cm) and thought I was FG. Not sure yet. Could you do a comparison video on FN and FG and maybe use SJP, a short FN as an example to tell these two types apart? Do you think SJP is FN?
I can’t figure out if I’m a flamboyant natural or soft natural. I’m around 5’10-5’11 and I think I have pretty wide shoulders but on the test, my responses seem to lean more towards soft natural because of my feminine soft facial structure.
Me too! I thought I was a SN too until I saw some analyses of FN like Eva Mendes and Jennifer Lawrence. Those wide shoulders are dead giveaways for FN.

thank you so much! and blake is such a dynamic style inspiration! have fun :)
Your comments on balance and proportion for FN, C and R are really insightful :)
Thank you :)
I think I found my body type at "Golden Retriever" 😮
Haha! I just thought it was a strong association- beautiful, shining, strong, and solid.
@@thealignedlover indeed! great work

Yay so glad this helped you understand :) I know process of elimination can feel a bit unsatisfying!
Wonderful explanation
Glad you liked it

Yessss FN is so beautiful! Most of the 90’s supermodels are FN :)
Awesome video! Please make dramatic next, probably on Olivia Culpo!
Amazonian! I love it!
You’re amazing this is so helpful thank you for making this
🥰🥰
if i’m a flamboyant natural and i don’t look good in messy hair and in unconstructed silhouette does it mean i’m not a flamboyant natural?

Nona DB thats the problem can’t rlly tell if i’m a flamboyant natural who looks better with dramatic lines or if i’m just a good ol dramatic
@@naomisdiary9835 feel free to check out the analysis i offer on my site, thealignedlover.com 💚

Do not hide your lovely shoulders; lean into them.
Thanks for a great video. It was very inspiring for me as a FN. Im curios to know witch body type you are Nona? :-)
so glad :) and for fun, why don't you take a guess? :)
@@thealignedlover Are you a Soft Natural? :)
@@thealignedlover Hm, I definitely see a lot of yin in you. My guess would be soft gamine or maybe theatrical romantic? :-)
@@marie-andreelefebvre9258 alas I am too small for that type but good guess:)

💕💕
Hold up, if a FN is a golden retriever then what type is the chihuahua??? 🤣
Hahaha ooooh dangerous territory!
honestly i could see gamine, not in an insulting way at all
theatrical romantic 😂

Or is SJP FN, have I got it wrong?
I think SJP is a shorter FN according to Kibbe. My comparison video playlist might help!

dress your body first and foremost, not your face. if still confused, i offer consults at thealignedlover.com :]
