I'd save it too! It's actually in great shape, floors (and spare tire well) rotting out is very common - more so than the rear strut towers because of window leaks like you said. I'm working on a few EXPs that have the same problem spots, they're very sentimental to me. I'd love to have a normal Escort but they don't exist in Wisconsin anymore, I'm lucky to have the EXPs I have and I had to travel across the country to get 'em lol Make a video of them louvers! VERY rare! The GT grill bolts right in, every 86-90 Escort/EXP grille is interchangeable. Certain Tempo grilles are said to be interchangeable too but I wouldn't know....
a friend of mine that i just met a couple weeks ago is a auto body tech at a local ford dealer. he is going to be redoing all the inside rust spots for me soon. Since the video i have repaired all brake lines and have driven it on a few occasions as well. It drives really well. Once my diesel ranger roof is taken care of the escort is going in for those repairs. then its back together for the interior and i will be registering it antique
My '86 Diesel Escort was in even worse shape regarding the rust and had to scrap it. I have a lot of new parts and accessories left over if you want anything. Have an entire new interior carpet kit and have no use for it. Seriously, if you want anything let me know.
