The Iranians had the best air force in the region with Israel. I find this ironic that the revolution was saved by american planes and that the pilots were also trained by americans ;)

I've been planing to do something with the Tomcat and the Iran-Iraq war. The big problem is that with Tomcat in DCS, the replay track never works. Essentially, you play some action and when you watch the replay (which is where video footage comes from), your airplane is doing different things and in the end, it just crashed into the ground. Replay track is generally one of the weakest points in DCS but with most modules, it often works. F-14 and Mirage 2000 are the worst. For me at least, because I've heard from other people that they had no issues.
Why isn't the MiG-21's victory over the F-5 shown? There was also enough time and space in the video duration of 21 minutes to show that as well. There are both planes in the game and it is not clear to me why it was not processed, but it was only mentioned?
Well, maybe that's a good reason to repeat the video, because this gives the impression of bias and cheering, which, I believe, was not the intention of the author. Furthermore, it could ask almost the same question in the case of the MiG-25 hit by the F-5 of the Iranian Air Force. This case is described in detail and well and processed by animation, and the case where the MiG-25 of Iraqi AF shot down an F-5 is only shyly mentioned. I think we could work on objectivity and presentation of all events. Thank you
I've always felt the F-5 was an underrated fighter; small, fast, hard to see, hard to hit - The "E" version being the most up to date; i would give it good odd's going had to head against an F-15 in a dog fight (no bvr) - The F-5 would not be my first choice for a ground attack but hey when you have a strong man making military decisions you are going to be FUBAR regardless - fine work Showtime love your stuff!
I only learned to appreciate the F-5 after I started flying it in DCS. Air to ground is a bit tricky with manual aiming only but it is relatively easy to fly. I haven't done any videos with it recently, maybe I should start looking for a topic. Thanks for the comment!

What Iraqi air force did wrong was they had not practiced the Israeli strategy properly, their backbone aircraft's were Su7 and MiG23s which are extremely fast and good if you are planning to hit a target the size of a small town with them but for anything more precise... well they pretty much screwed up their surprise advantage, and then they had no clue that after the border frictions of late 70s, iranian air force had already planned a detailed operation to encounter a hypothetical full scale conflict, it was composed of a complete and quite up to date map of Iraqi SAM net, multiple ingress paths to Iraqi airfield and logistic nodes, a well practiced 72 hours surge operation situation of battle ready attack squadrons to be send against those targets, backed up with BDA follow up recon passes and consequential reattacks... including both operational and logistical/maintenance crew... it even had considered rapid repair of friendly airfields in it, just in case Iraqies actually managed to put those massive Russian wholes into the runways... and unlike Iraqi plan, that one worked.
Not yet. There is a proper Mirage F1 module being developed for DCS by a Spanish company so I'm waiting for the release. Currently, there is a mod but it's relatively simple and it borrows cockpit from F-15. Once we get the high-fidelity module, I'll start doing some stories on it.
