I love you so much!!! SUCH an amazing crafter and cosplayer! I LOVE the layout of your tutorials! And girlll omg I see my tomb raider print in the back and I'm crying I have your widowmaker print on my wall in my craftroom too!! ;_;
@@KinpatsuCosplay You and Kamui are both two amazing and so talented Cosplayer :D I love your tutorials and her books so much ^-^ You both put so much effort in your cosplays and tutorials and I hope you just keep going like that :D
this video is SO helpful! i haven't been able to find any tutorials for princess rosalina cosplay, and i was hoping this tutorial would be close enough to what i needed, and i'm glad i was right! i'm so pleased with the tip to paint the back of a clear gem with nail polish, because i knew i didn't want to use opaque gems, but i wasn't sure i could find translucent ones in the colors i needed (or in the same sizes as each other, considering there are red AND blue gems on rosalina's crown). thank you so much for making this video!
I just finished putting the horns together, I think I should have used a slightly less thicker foam for then but for the seams I used foam clay and water. It's messy but it really helped.
Thanks for the tutorial! I'm new to cosplay and I'm looking for tutorials like yours, I learned so much about the wig styling and sewing, I will totaly keep this tricks in my mind. Thank you! :)
Your tutorial is amazing, is that i need to make my Rosalina's Crown :3, and now i want to make Bowsette, i lerned so much in this video! Thank you very much!
Omg this is amazing! So helpful thank you so much, though I'd probably use a plastic bolt or maybe a wooden dowel for the pony tail part. A metal scew seems like it'd be way too heavy and either bend over time or be painful with the weight on your head.
It's not heavy or painful at all :3 my bowsette wig I just secure in place with a single bobby pin! If your wig is heavy it will be from the amount of hair on it. you can make it lighter by thinning it out with thinning scissors and even though there's less hair and its lighter it will still look full!
I'm not saying the screw is going to bend, I'm saying it's going to cause the ponytail to shift over time and after 8-12 hours at a con a regular wig can cause strain on your neck so a wig with that much hair plus a bolt that big and heavy might cause discomfort. It's an amazing cosplay just things I'll change if I try to make it myself. I wasn't trying to be rude just my thoughts thank you for the video and tutorial!
Devilish ! It’s actually slightly bigger than A4! So if you can try print is using a poster or tile mode at 100%! :3 it should put it onto 2A4 sheets then. It’s not much bigger than A4 but the pointed ends just don’t quite fit in.
I wanna make the red haired bowsette and I already have a red wig but there's a store that is selling blonde ponytails, do you think it's possible to turn it red as it's probably synthetic
Smol_Bunny see if you can search for wig dying tutorials - I’ve seen people do it, I think they use RitDye Synthetic. I can’t remember the exact process, but keep in mind that synthetic dye requires a boil method
So I'm in the middle of doing this and my one word of advice: MAKE SURE YOUR FOAM EDGES LINE UP!!! Make sure there is no overhanging foam or glue. I cannot tell you how much of a pain in the ass it is to fix the edges afterwards with gesso, glue, paint, and sand paper.
Great tutorial! I plan on cosplaying version two of bowsette soon! For the wig, did you use one short and one long? Also what wigs would you recommend as a base? 😊😊💗💗
I used 2 of the exact same wigs :) probably like 60cm long cause its all that was available to me here and cut one and used the other for the ponytail. they're the same kind of quality wigs you could get on ebay :3 nothing fancy
Hey Kinpatsu, first of all- great tutorial ^^ How did you attach the worbla-cross? Did you glue it on the inside of the wig or does it stay in place because of the bolt? I´m really curious because this video is a life saver for my blood moon Kalista wig. thanks in advance
Im so confused on how she gets that worbla piece to stay on her head for the wig. I imagine it would just fall off even if the first wig secured it to the head, wouldn the ponytail be too heavy?
Amazing cosplay, but please refrain from using and telling others to use pollutant hairsprays. Mousse would be better. But hairspray destroys the ozone layer
How did you make the hair at the beginning of your ponytail to stay put realistacally? Every time I’ve seen anyone use this method, all the hair falls vertically as soon as the pony part is put in flace and it looks really fake. What’s your secret?
You might not answer this one but how do you keep the spiked armbands up other than they are slightly smaller than your arm. I'm making mine to go over legging for a different cosplay and I'm not sure if they will stay up.
You could use a stove top burner to heat up your foam but I wouldn't recommend it. I burnt my hands doing that in the past so a heat gun is what you should look at. :P They're not expensive. Don't use a hair dryer. It's not gonna make foam or worbla shape up since they don't get hot enough like heat guns do. I too don't own airbrush tools so I use acrylic paint. You can find cheap acrylic craft paints at craft stores.
I'd really just recommend getting a heat gun. I got one for about $20 on Amazon and it's great for so many cosplays. Regular acrylic paint or oil paint work fine on cosplays. Air brush is just quicker and dries quicker. Watch some videos on weathering and they should help. Zonbi's workshop and Kamui are my favorite UA-cam channels for cosplay tips.
So I have to ask, I downloaded your horn template and how do I attach them to which number? is all four pieces for just one horn or is the whole template for two horns? Do parts 1 and 2 go together only and then 3 and 4 with another? I am admittedly a little confused, sorry. :/
The horn pattern is just for 1 horn :3 So all 4 of those pieces will make up the full horn, we tried to show which edges connect to each numbered piece. If you are still struggling to assemble it just send us a message on our instagram or facebook and we can try help!
Im absolutely binging videos like this because im making my first cosplay soon (the wig is arriving later yay) and im super excited. This stuff is so much simpler than I thought. I dont know why I thought it was so intimidating considering i already have some sewing knowledge and plant of familiarity with working with different kinds of foam
The wig is gonna keep the cross on your head. you don't need to attach it. and its 2 long wigs cause that's all I had access to. So I cut one short and used the other for the ponytail. they were exactly the same to begin with
I got ten template and I was making the horns but when it came to attaching the foam pieces together I couldn’t figure out with one goes with which. It goes by so fast in the video so I can’t tell. I’m so confused
I just be realized lmao. How does the back ponytail stay since you put worbla on the styrofoam head.is it inside the wig cap? And will air dry clay work for the spikes as well?
air dry clay will work but it can get a bit heavy and sometimes snap. once the ponytail is glued to the frame it stays inside the wig. you dont need to glue the worbla piece inside the wig :)
because the wig store we have here doesn't sell ponytail wigs :3 You can use ponytail clips with this same method and pull the hair off the clip and wrap it over the polystyrene shape. But if you dont have a ponytail clip like I didn't for this then a second wig is another alternative :3
@@KinpatsuCosplay Oh well I didn't say that right XD oops, I meant a full body showing is that how you call it? don't mind me for real i'm still learning English hahaha sorry, but the cosplay is awesome!

No glue on the inside required :) when the ponytail is glued to the base over the wig it will not come out and shouldnt shift much at all.
Thanks you so much for the quick answer. That helped a lot ^^
Can you please do a Rosalina wig tutorial

Where are the wigs from? Or where do you usually go to for wigs for cosplay.

could i just use regular foam?
You might not answer this one but how do you keep the spiked armbands up other than they are slightly smaller than your arm. I'm making mine to go over legging for a different cosplay and I'm not sure if they will stay up.
They need to be a snug fit and as gross as this is the longer you wear them the better they stay up cause your skin sweats a bit XD
I’ve never made a cosplay so I don’t have things like a heat gun or airbrush, is there any cheaper alternatives? Or something that would work as well?
