- The track credited at the end of the movie - "Paula's Theme" has never appeared on any of the soundtrack releases of The Running Man, including the new expanded edition released in 2020.
The track was named so as it was played during the opening of the show in the movie - for which Paula Abdul choreographed the dance routines for.

Me and my sister know this movie off by heart, word for word, I was 6 years old when I watched this and we are both 30 now, I remember back in the day when we watched it, we'd look at each other, squint our eyes and immediately start clapping and shaking our hips like the two sisters in the movie who are thoroughly enjoying themselves, because thats what it was, pure, untainted joy. Arnold you absolute legend! Helluva time to be alive!
Well, you and your sister "...are a hell of a pair of actors!"
How can they not include this, it's iconic. Such a memorable part of the movie score.
Indeed!
rights issues and arguments behind the scenes... took me a couple days after re watching running man to find this.... its a pretty good copy of this song... but doesent sound quite as good as the DTS track on the newest blu ray release... but waay better than others
Its when the ICS logo rolls just before "its showtime!" gives me chills every time.
holy shit.... an actual decent quality release of this...
Glad you enjoyed it - Thanks for watching!
Best quality version I could find in UA-cam by far...
"... don't touch the hair!" that is digital percussion moment is miss...
... and other (secondary) arrangements in the track...
But still a glory!.
Paula is good and we like Paula.
Thank you man!
Thanks
This is on of my fav songs on the soundtrack! Running Man show warming up the audience...
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Legendary upload.
The movie's best and thematic song, a masterpiece. What a shame it is not included in the OST (of course, Spotify too), probably due to licensing issues.
This is awesome. This one of my favorite all time soundtracks! I can’t believe it wasn’t included in any of the releases!
Glad you like it!
paula abdul did the dancey bits for the logo reveal in this movie .. hence paulas theme.. this is the perfect movie imo
Yes she did the choreography for the dance number that opens the show - hence the title of the track. There are rumours that she has some kind of ownership and/or rights to do with this track which have prevented it from being released on any of the soundtracks.
After all these years of looking and eventually giving up! Thank you kindly my friend!
FInally! Been waiting years for this! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it - such a shame it wasn't included on the Soundtrack albums.
Been looking for this for years, thank you!
Glad I could help!
This is straight fire!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
I believe it was it was named after Paula Abdul who did choreography for the dance sequences.
Correct! Thanks for watching!
Jackie Jackson was cheating on his wife with Paula at the time. They had a well-publicized affair.
I bet La-La Land had done the expansion, this and John Parr's song would've been included.
"Big crowd tonight."
"Better there than streets"
That 80s cheese has aged well
A great track - such a shame its not on the new release.
@@RetroReels bit weird I'm guessing to do with the rights of the song and permission.
Yes, you can smell it through the monitor. Good stuff.
🤘🏻🔥
You guys wanna dig out the other dance track as well? Played briefly, near the end, before "fixing" the fight. :)
Isn't that the same track, albeit a slightly different mix? I assume you are referring to the scene where Killian walks amongst the dancers to announce that Captain Freedom has come out of retirement before showing the fight?

...it begins a bit earlier, in the background, when Richards and Amber are found by the rebels.
I don't think it's the same :)
@@olivervilba2984 That track is on the Deluxe edition score. It's called Death March. ua-cam.com/video/Dajw_NM8rjE/v-deo.html
@@RetroReels cool, guess i was just a lazy researcher. :) Still, sounds like the ending is cut short.... could be a great track.
It’s time.
Where did you get this version? It sounds the same as the "The Running Man - Paula's Theme ORIGINAL FULL STUDIO VERSION" that can be found on UA-cam with that exact name. The user claims it's the studio version but will not respond to any questions about where he got the song. It sounds pretty good but the sound could definitely be cleaner so it's pretty obvious it's not the studio version but your version sounds identical to that other one I found on UA-cam so it got me curious where did you get this. By the way I have to admit that the ending was brilliant! (TV with text and Joker shooting it) =)
I do not know the original source - for this video I took several different sources available elsewhere and made the best I could between them, I suspect that some of the other versions on UA-cam are taken from the 5.1 track from the movie - several had noticeable glitches where dialogue had been. Thanks for the compliment on my outro - I think you are the first to say anything about it - I've had it now for 2 years+!
@@RetroReels Thanks for the prompt info! Yes I think it that tv-box+joker was very clever and creative so I had to comment on it.
Thanks - there may be a new version coming soon!
Damon Killian: "DON'T TOUCH THE HAIR!!!"
He made a good villain - should have been in a few more movies! Thanks for watching!
People who made running man: "let's give what the people want"
Ironic!
Also missing: Opening credits/sewer reveal music from TMNT 1990
That was not on the original soundtrack album, but it is on the full score album that Waxwork Records put out a few years ago
"The Running Man has been brought to you by: Breakaway Paramilitary Uniforms, Ortopure Procreation Pill, and Cadre Cola; it hits the spot! Promotional considerations paid for by: Kelton Flame Throwers, Wainwright Electrical Launchers, and Hammond & Gage Chainsaws. Damon Killian's wardrobe by Chez Antoinne: 19th century craftsmanship for the 21st century man. Cadre Trooper and studio-guard side arms provided by Colchester: the pistol of patriots. Remember: Tickets for the ICS studio tour are always available for Class-A citizens in good standing. If you'd like to be a contestant on The Running Man, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to: ICS Talent Hunt, care of your local affiliate, and then go out and do something really despicable! I'm Phil Hilton! Good night, and take care!"
Comment because comments rocks 🤪
Thanks for watching!
2050!
? The film is set in 2017
Ok, so wait, are we sure Harold Faltermeyer didn't write and perform this?
Yes, credits are at the start of the video and also in description - that's the only info available regarding this track. Interestingly they also wrote another piece for the soundtrack which is included in the soundtrack releases.
Don't touch the hair!
Haha
