Great content, really enjoyed the cleaning process, music and parts list with a rundown of prices. Keep it up bro. More of this!

Great video and great build! It’s awesome that you were able to put it together for that price. The state of the retro PC market right now is pretty brutal. Even in just the last 2-3 years I’ve seen prices triple on a lot of components. Subscribed 👍

Thanks mate! Yes I had noticed the market for 486 boards with PCI getting quite crazy. AT cases too. Managed to build the whole thing for less than any buy it now motherboards!

Price is fully dictated by supply and demand these days. Not much avaliable out there.

I love it. You done an amazing job on this system and the fact you toke a gamble on the motherboard and are able to save it is fantastic. The case brings back some fun memories. Thanks for sharing and joining in on the build off.

Thanks mate. Really glad I was able to get it fixed! Bargains can be had if you are willing to wait for the deals

I like the focus on cost, because that can be one of the biggest obstacles to people getting into this hobby. You were very resourceful and ended up with some really nice parts. That case cleaned up really nice and I love the chrome-like internals. I've had a couple of cases like that and there's something very 'of the era' about them. Also great to see another system using the 5x86 - such a great chip. Thanks for sharing!

Nice build, great all around, I really should start doing like you did here and sell stuff that are not really that important to cover part of the expenses.

None of this hardware can be bought on a budget, unless of course the budget is high. however. Yeah. 5x86 are nice CPU's, and they are fast.
What did catch my attention, when I ran a 5x86-133 and a 486-DX4-120. Was that the 486 seemed faster than a 5x86. I bet it was those extra FSB clockcyckles that made the difference.
Just dont do this build again, sourcing a dx4-120. Those actual 120's are expensive to source. I found that out, when I tried to put a price on my chip, when I put it up for sale.

@@simon_1987 mostly nostalgia, for me I never had a 486 as I jumped from a 386 DX 33 to a Pentium 60 and didn't enjoy the games made in that period using a good enough machine.
