Same here, got it for Christmas 1989. I remember turning it on and being blown away by the graphics - I literally thought at that time that you had to have a computer monitor to have graphics so crisp and clear as the 'high definition' Genesis produced. Then, after playing this for a half-hour or so, I put in Ghosts'N Goblins, and was blown away again because it looked even better and the sound was stunningly good. Kids, this is what "next gen" was back in 1989! Compared to the NES' that we all had and loved, the striking features here were the three button gameplay, four times the colors on screen, four times larger player sprites (with two players simultaneous!) with little to no sprite flicker, screen-filling animated boss sprites that you couldn't even imagine on the NES, smooth parallax scrolling giving you a perception of depth, way more realistic sound effects and voices, colorful full screen animations and music that didn't sound like the "blip bloop blop" 8-bit stuff. You didn't have many games because of this. So you just kept playing the ones you had. Make it further and further each time, there are no continues in this game but there is a code for the. I think that the reason they bundled this game with the Genesis/Mega Drive is because of how it shows of the arcade graphics really well but it also isn’t to long so that people will also wont to buy more games.

This game scared me as a kid
I have not finished this game, so good to see the ending. I express my thanks for sharing, I am curious if a remaster will ever happen for this title.
I used to go over to my neighbours house to James this out when I was a kid because we had a Nintendo. I remember loving it so much! So many games seemed harder back then as expected. I remember legend of zelda ocarina of time had me going for maybe a year and a half.
Played this with my best friend on two gamers mode as a kid and we actually got to the final level and final boss, but we never realized that we were that close to victory...! This is true revelation!
Cool to see these games on here. Interesting, it's so short.
I've played this on the PS2 on the Sega Genesis Collection before!
I can't believe i had such a hard time playing this.
Now it looks trivial.
I’m so close to finishing this
The final boss in the arcade version was not as aggressive as the one in this Sega Genesis version. Has anyone else noticed the difference--among many others?
