- I spent 3 days down in Louisville Kentucky at the largest indoor machinery show. And while I was there, we got about 6 inches of snow at the homestead.

We live in southeastern Illinois on a 41 acre homestead. We just finished building our log cabin in 2018. Now we are focused on trying to grow our own food and raise livestock. Follow us on our journey we continue to develop our homestead and farm, while becoming more self sufficient.

Glad you're all home safe and sound. Thanks for sharing, Fred.
I liked your cutting from the show to the snow ---- and I liked Rebecca's video of the dogs frolicking in the snow!
Country clipper folds up just like the grasshopper
Great video
Very cool video. Looked like fun exploring the tools and toys. TYM had a really nice booth.
It is always nice to go to a trade show....but it does have the draw back of wetting the appetite for some new stuff. I hope you do get to borrow on of the seeders you showed. That would sure save a lot of time. Thanks for taking us along. Have a Blessed day.
Great, down to earth videos from regular old folks doing what they love, not the "fake farmer" stuff you see on some channels. Me and my wife were going to start a small farm, mostly raising vegetables with a few animals, but unfortunately head cancer slowed me down, these videos really pick me up.
Thanks for bringing us along, loved it!!!!!
Man I had a blast hanging out with you!
So nice to see the happy puppies playing outside. They have their beautiful winter coats on; lots of brushing time!
Thanks for stopping by the booth!
Hustler makes a flip up deck like the grass hopper
Can't wait to see what new equipment you'll get to try. 💚👍👍
It was great meeting you. Keep doing what you doing. You and Rebecca are an inspiration.
Always fun getting to chat with you Evan. Just never seems like we get to talk long enough lol 😆
Thank you for the review. I was there last year and saw you with a group, but I did not talk to you. Thanks for the review of what you are using or looking at. The seeders were the most interesting. I just finished my first year making UA-cam videos of my 16 acre property. The small seeder and balers will be needed when I start working the fields for production.
Once again mentioning your local county SWCD. Some of them rent post drivers, seed drills for pastures, soil recommendations, and fish and tree sales. Might look into this for your small farm needs.
I guess I mention this after spending a 40 year career working with several SWCDs in Indiana with the NRCS. I really enjoy watching every episode. Couldn’t make it to the farm machinery show but would like to meet you someday!
Dale, I rented the seed drill from my local extension office when I planted my hay field for the first time. It was not taken care of and in poor shape. I was unable to get it to plant grass at correct depth and rate. That's why I have tried using other methods.
Yeah, that’s the problem sometimes with rental equipment. They have to take care of the equipment to promote good methods.
One of these days I want to meet you!!
Thanks for the content. I really appreciate it.
Rebecca looked like a huge snowflake, she was so cold , I know she was glad when you got home. Glad you enjoyed your trip. God bless you.
Pretty cool video ! I LOVE YOU GUYS !!!!!!!! 🥰 🥰
Hey, That oil pipe we use to put spray foam 2 inch on inside then top off with concrete when the concrete dries we paint it with a good waterproof paint trick with the cement is is get a plastic mixing cup with a handle it Dollar Tree or something it takes like four cops to fill the top if you do it right with the foam
Good to see you out and about Evan
You got a really good channel 😊
Good honest work you do, not like some of the others who just act big deal and are actually arrogant and just profes to be better than thou
I think ventrac has the ability to raise the deck to access as well, but yeah definitely a nice feature as that is how most decks rot out with wet debris
VENTRAC and STEINER both have the deck that folds up 90 degrees. Was the selling point of my Dad buying a STEINER about 21 years ago
Yup, I have a Ventrac with many attachments. The flip-up mower deck is a nice feature.
well done Rebecca
Pleasure to meet ya at the show
Great Video and New Sub here 👍
We got our fun in the snow today while it’s still here
God Bless
Great Video, I'd love to meet you sometime find your channel very interesting to watch. Continued Success to you and Rebekah.
Let's hear it for TYM. 🎉🎉😊 Wonderful Info, Evan.
there used to be 2 tym dealer here were i am here in pei canada but its now down to 1 dealer now because all here in pei canada all went with case IH and kubotas
@@michaelmactavish4445smart
the grass hopper is a very nice mower! its starting to become more popular i see! glad you made it home and we got that same storm!
Kencove is a great company. They offer a 2 day farm fence building class at their PA headquarters that is really good (next one is in March). I've been through it and attendees are a mix of both fence professional contractors and property owner/DIY'ers. Love everything you do - but I think you could really benefit from the class! ;). Maybe you could pick up some of your supplies for your big upcoming project whle there and save some shipping costs.
Enjoyed looking at all the equipment and seeing other U tuber's
Always enjoy your vids. Thanks for sharing
I was there working the show and it was the busiest in the last several years! It would have been nice to meet you, but it was wide open throttle for us from Wednesday to Saturday!
Evan enjoy all you content. I just fenced 20 acreswith wood post and high tensile wire. Drove 12 hours one way to buy a used shaver driver glad I did and the other thing I would not do with out is the new Milwaukee 9ga electric fence stapler. was pricey but it saved me days. Only regret is I wished driver would have had hydraulic controls for leveling instead did it the old manual way, but have a fence that I am proud of. Looking forward to seeing your fence go up.
good job of staying in your lane, TYM, smaller attachments stuff folks that watch you are interested in. Good editing also. hope you get the seeder, and maybe even a post driver at least no harm in giving out some hints. I said this before I hope you and TYM can maintain a lasting relationship.
Enjoyed meeting Evan at the farm show and enjoy watching his videos great down to earth guy
Those little seed hoppers are kind of cool. Old-school method is you cover rows you want to blank out with a metal plate and duct tape. The channel Farmall Fanatic planted a field of corn with a small grain seeder, you should check that out (he shows mid-season and harvest too). When you get the seeder to borrow and before you send it back, work up a garden area to put down heirloom dent corn (Blue hopi/Bloody butcher have high protein) to have dry corn for the house and animals.
Very good video Evan. Most guys try to put to much stuff in their videos. And usually only the big stuff. Common sense practical attachments. Thank you. I'll be watching this year for you drilling those pastures.
Enjoyed your video Evan have a good day.
Looks like a great time!
Thanks for posting a video of your trip to the Farm Show. I was not able to attend this year. So I really appreciated you sharing your experience with us. So nice that Rebeca held down the fort so you could go to the show. I also enjoyed the interviews you did with some of your fellow U Tubers. Have a blessed week!
Great videos on the new equipment out
Tony's tractor Adventure lives close to me in Tennessee.
Hustler has a flip up deck also as well as some other mowers other commenters have mentioned.
Sure looks like that was a cool place! Awesome video!
Thats what I need, one of those 4 foot seeder jobs, to pull behind my Kubota tractor!
The Shaver Post Driver is very dangerous as the hydraulic lines can blow into your face!!!
The two best ones are:
Hammer
Quick Attach Post Driver
Good luck
Ann
Nice really enjoyed this Vid 😄
Hi Tony! Waving from the Smokies!
Ventrac's have flip-up mower decks, but those are on a different level than zero-turns. Great video, Evan!
I was just there in January for the NAHBE bee convention. Great place
Very nice looking great love your videos
thx for sharing ! Wish we got that snow here in Belgium ...
Enjoyed the video. Hope you have a great week.
You need a good seeder to redo all your Fields and do the new one to
You may ask your local NRCS office about renting a post driver. Here in KY several offices have them available to rent.
Thanks
TAKE A TIME WHEN GROUND IS SOMEWHAT SOFT AND USE YOUR LOADER TO PUT IN POSTS- THOSE POUNDERS ARE TO HIGH PRICED FOR SMALL FARMER. JUST NEED SECOND PERSON NO MATER WHAT YOU USE. GOOD SHOW
Did you get sick down there in Louisville Kentucky haven’t seen a post lately looking forward to them
Thanks for sharing!
Great video. Looks like a great time!
HAHAHAH Hi Tony.... Got a Glimpse of You on another Channel..
Thanks Evan..
Evan Green Acre Homestead rented a pull around machine that drills and drives the posts.
It is self contained
Good video . enjoy your snow
Excellent vid - Thanks for sharing....
Thanks Guys
Love the video Evan on the National Farm show .but i love more of your farm vidéos . 12 ROW SIDER 1500$ . international one .
Great video!👍🏻
Good show thank , I watch all the show, Lucky Edmonds in Candler NC
It looked like you had a pretty good experience at the show, good to see all the equipment. Thanks for showing it to us, have a great week.
Hey Country View, if you pull the laser cutter instead of pushing it you will have better control.
Only one other mower that I've seen with the flip up deck is Country Cutters and you run it with a joy stick
Great episode!!!👍👍👍 Rebecca rocks!!!👍👍👍
I bought an old shaver post drive very cheap a couple years ago at an auction believe it’s model 8 n it’s an awesome attachment n I’ve drove post into shale n wet clay area n they are holding up well, I use my New Holland Boomer 30 n all works great !!
Great video Evan, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for taking us along ....is it snowing where you are? I saw the beautiful snow your wife is enjoying😍😍
Thanks for all your advice when I talked to you at the TYM booth on Friday. I'm going to look for a higher HP tractor.
Great Video always Fun to get to see all this equipment
I'd just use the loader on big tractor to push in the t-post. Unless you're in rock they work great . Or make a loader attachment with a tube to hold post while pushing it in.
Thanks for the interesting tractor show video. Will be interesting to see you use the seeder. Should make your hay fuels more productive.
You said you were going to the tracker show good job
Saw you there on Saturday. I wanted to say hi but you looked beat. The weekends at the show are brutal.
You guys get our weather a day after us in St. Louis.
ya I've been watching Daniel Arms as long been watching you lol what a small world lol and we have the largest AG show call The Maggie up here in Montana lol
Great Video Evan, thanks for taking us along to the show. and seeing the neat stuff there. Glad you got to mingle with fellow YT producers like yourself and viewers alike. and by the looks of things you got back just in time to enjoy the snow haha. My days of frolicking in the snow are long gone at 80and a few months would rather look out the window at it with a mug of hot soup or cup of coffee than go frolick in it. worked in it for 30yrs that was plenty. thanks again for sharing. ECF
Well if you go talk to Daniel Arms he has a drill he has been using to plant fields and food plots for animal
Grasshopper and John Deer.
👍👍
👏👏
Daniel has a drill planter
Great video, Question, you said your Dad has a Brush Crusher, how does he like it? Does it fit his needs, I to have a sub compact with out the third function and for light to medium loads this would up my alley, thank you and Rebekah for all you do making the videos. .Looking forward to hearing from you..
I am older than your DAD!
A backpack leaf blower is the best thing to get snow off the porch ! Clean off cars and trucks as well
👍
I know him from the video s
Good video nice to see some ofthe new stuff. If I only had a dollar id buy this one that one ! oh pich me im dreaming Again nnnnnnnn
Kasco is about 20 mins from me. Good company
Look at 2 cycle hand held post drivers online.
Use your skills to hang it from your loader.
Let it slide down a channel or pair of channels.
thx
