Jason, thats another great video from you, thanks.
I like tracks for their looks but I must note that I have a bit of a hang-up with them.
An atrticulated tractor with wheels has 4 wheels to turn.
An articulated tracked tractor has 24 wheels to turn. ( one drive wheel, two idler wheels and three bogie wheels just for one track. Multiply that by four for four track assemblies and that is 24 wheels turning )
There is more turning friction with tracks which means more power is required which means more fuel is consumed.
Tracks are more expensive to buy, more expensive to maintain and also more time consuming to maintain.
Track manufacturers must love it now that tracks are the ' in-thing ' for farmers to have-!

@@whitfordpullingteam1468 How do they put more power to the ground-?
My logic tells me that tracks put less power to the ground due to the turning friction from all of the wheels that the engine power has to turn.

@@John-nc4bl the benefit outweighs the parasitic loss.
Here’s a excerpt direct from Firestone. When looking at traction, track systems are most efficient at 0 - 3% slip, while wheeled systems are most efficient at 5 - 9% slip.

That tractor is very nice looking and I like the looks of these tracks much better than what they've had. I know of only one NH 4WD anywhere near us and it is a tracked machine wit the old style tracks. I would really like to see NH gain in popularity around here and take some of JD's place on farms. JD is 50:1 over everyone else both in the field and in terms of dealerships. The new combine is sharp!

There was a long standing agreement between the brands that there would not be a 2 rotor red combine as long as long as there wasn’t a blue quad….so now you have it. An AF11 combine and a blue quad. Also, when Sergio Marchionne was chairman of Fiat/Fiat industrial he would not allow a blue quad. He no longer has a dog in the fight. The blue quad is better for everyone.
