Recent buyer, have played both. From a single key stroke the Kawai is the answer. The touch/action is far far superior. The tone is good in both but for my use the more delicate, deeper, versatile tone of the Kawai is favorable. Everything felt a few notches better even at the smaller size.
If you want to go silent, the K200 has the edge over Yamaha B3. More complete system and no compromise over the scaling. But the K200 is not 48in and it's his major shortcoming. The K200 is just in a bad spot. The price difference is not big enough with the K300. The issue with Kawai is that most technician can't fix a broken action part. And I don't want to hear yes but ABS is more durable. We see >100 years old piano with their wooden action still going around.
Since there are 100-year-old pianos with wooden actions still out there, how likely is it that technicians will need to fix broken parts in Kawai's more durable ABS actions? It'll take more than 100 years for the parts to break. ;) I have a 100-year-old piano and everything except the wooden action parts has broken or worn out. I also have an 8-year-old Kawai K500 and so far, the only thing to wear out has been the key bushings.
@@MathsYknow Composite material are very peculiar. For example, composite with Kelvar are really bad with humidity, some compositve have poor UV resistance (sunlight), others dryout over times. It terms of weight and resistance, composite material are exceptional, no doubt about that. The issue is more how long Kawai will support the spare parts supply. All components deteriorates over time. I'm just questionning the life cycle. And don't get me wrong, I would take a K300 before a U1. I just need to get over the Life-cycle impact.
Hello . the piano on the Yamaha montage sounds better than the DGX 670 - 660 cvp?The quality of the piano and the sound. I use 2 Hs7 monitors and a Yamaha Hs8s subwoofer. Please answer me . thank you very much . Horia

I originally bought a Yamaha keyboard. It's OK but the Kawai I now got is much more satisfying to play. Kawai nails it with the tone.
I much prefer the livelier quality of the Yamaha sound. It sounds so sparkly on the top end.

I like the darker sound of kawai more
in the european market the B3 is comparable in price to the K-300

What the name of that piece of music ??
I'd like to know too!
U1 leftovers are 35% cheaper than K-200 leftovers around here, sorry Kawai, it's a no brainer.
