    I have lived all over New Hampshire for 50 years. I still reside in NH, and Love my SAFE state. Of course larger cities have a denser population, so more chances of crime, as it is in any state you live in. I know Keene NH very well, as I lived within miles of this very small city. I have lived in Nashua NH as well, and still very safe place to live, compared to other states. There is no where in NH, I wouldn't live given the opportunity. I have also lived all over the United States growing up, and New Hampshire still my favorite State. "Live Free or Die." great Moto, Fantastic state!

    Sadly opioids are the culprit behind quiet New England’s crime rates. The good news is the government and police are getting some traction on the problem. I think going forward, when the Department of Justice publishes its 2020-2021 statistics, there will a noticeable drop since addressing the opioid crisis got serious during those peak years of 2018-19. I live in North Conway NH and the crime in this area is because of the drug problem. I have lived in many places including NYC and Boston and I must say the drug problem in this area is the worst I have experienced. People have a mistaken impression of where the opioid crisis is. They assume it is an urban problem mostly with minorities. In fact the crisis is the worst in rural areas like mine and it mostly affects white people and women are very much the most affected by it.

      Lived in the North Conway area for three years. It's a nice place to vacation, not to live in. All there is to do for townies who work there is drugs. No one who lives and works there can afford to enjoy the town the way people with money do. I became addicted to drugs and alcohol at an early age while living there, and the best thing I ever did for myself was getting out and moving to the seacoast.

      Envious that you have had the pleasure of living in New Hampshire your entire life. I'm from Southeastern Massachusetts, namely the Cape. Was wondering what you might know of the area around Claremont. New housing subdivision lots are up for sale in North Charleston. Seems rather attractive to me. Peace. Quiet. Vermont border. Winters suck. We know this. But the tradeoff - the natural, raw beauty of both New Hampshire and Vermont - is worth it. Fall foliage season in North Conway, Lincoln is never a disappointment either. Your thoughts? Thanks.

    Laconia is pretty low for violent crime rate but I know that the property crime is slightly higher than national average. After all, I'm never in the center of it. I'm always near the Weirs beach and the Lake area. Only had 1 incident where a guy got angry because he was driving 10 under the speed limit and I was close behind him getting ready to pass him. But he pulled over and then then followed be around. Cops were called and he eventually stopped before they got to him. Safe to say that bad drivers need to be taken off the road.

    • @BlitherVids
      @BlitherVids 7 місяців тому

      The thing to remember is that "slightly higher than the national average" is a deceptive stat since the national average includes tens of thousands of small towns. If you compare any city to a national average that includes small towns and you only fare slightly worse, that's actually pretty good.

    To anyone watching this who isn't from NH: This video is 2 years old. Do some current research to find out what's really happening now. I live in a rural town outside of Keene, and the crime rate in Keene has skyrocketed. Armed robberies, carjackings, etc have gone crazy. A few years ago I wouldn't have thought twice about walking around downtown Keene in the evening after a dinner; but after 3 attempted armed robberies on me on the sidewalk, I won't go to Keene without a weapon. Many other "cities" in NH are experiencing similar issues.

This video was also done by a broker who sells houses in NH --- In addition to health care and education, the rankings take into account a state’s economy; its roads, bridges, internet and other infrastructure; its public safety; its natural environment; the fiscal stability of state government; and the opportunity it affords its residents.
