This draft feels like going to a fancy high end steakhouse on the cheap. Picks 1 and 9 feel like getting steak and lobster. Picks 75 and 122 feels like the potato and the vegetable medley. No dessert, no apps, no drinks, just water…..because we are splurging on steak and lobster.

Yes, Byron Murphy ! He’s got some Aaron Donald in him. In Poles interview today he said he likes pressure up the middle more than pressure from the edge. He said “Shortest distance to the QB is up the middle”. Billings is a run stuffer on early downs, but on passing downs imagine Dexter and Murphy side by side. That would be awesome.
16:00 Swift you describing Darius Robinson as the perfect DE for 🐻 After watching 📼 on Darius Robinson and Verse, I think they are actually similar LE's. DR has more power and is better at the run. Just pure force to collapse the pocket. Setting the Edge is easy for this guy. Verse as a power rusher doesn't have that, he uses quickness and moves which, idk how well they translate. But he is a power rusher. So Late 1st-2nd Darius Robinson or Brice From Washington I really like, looks like he is a 2nd-3rd. Or, some High Ras guys late, Gamble this year, Need No 1 next year if it doesn't hit. Or...Poles trades another 🐻 2nd for a Player 😂🤷🏻💯 Most likely trade wise would be during cuts, we have 2 6th next year. JF pick could be a 4th so you don't trade that. But trading down and taking Darius Robinson in the 20's would be Genius imo. 💯 9 to 20 your adding future 1st or multiple 2nd-3rds which we need especially this year. 💯 We fill these roles and we can Win.
Caleb ran into Rome on the plane trip to Detroit!! They already started bonding so nothing left to do but call their names. Unless its MHJ. Odunze also has experience returning kicks so that is a huge plus especially with how bad the Bears were in that department

As I have said all along, all we need to do is trust Poles to do his job. If you follow the In Poles We Trust principle, there's no stress involved with this pre draft process. Poles has the experience, football knowledge and plethora of scouts who feed him inside info. He's in a much better position to decide than any of us. I'm just waiting to see what his decisions are. 2 days! ⬇!
Pro Bowlers are traded yearly for 6th Rd picks after the draft. They don't have Guaranteed $$$ or, a team just drafted someone for their spot. They may come from a different regime. This also happens in camp, they see a rookie outplaying a vet, they will see if they can get picks for the Vet. Poles has shown he will give picks for a Good Veteran.

Mason, Dexter and Pickens actually had a play they both was at DE last year. Dexter I think 🤔 is you Nickle-Dime NT. He's gonna be really good. 3tech is almost as important as QB to this D tho. And Dexter couldn't get off the 🏈 and Pickens is a year away imo. Tho Dexter was 2nd in Pass Rush wins at 11 per Rookies, 1st was Carter with 40something. The top guys all had 40 pass rush wins. That's what we need. I think 🤔 you can find 25-30 in a Mid Rd DT, there's a ton of Pass Rush 3Tech Mid Rd. Even a 360Lb 3tech 😅🤷🏻. Texas DT I like but they are prospects not players coming from that crazy D, alot like Dexter was Gapping at Florida. Newton is a player Day 1. Gonna be really solid and develop while playing. I like him, tho I personally would go Mid Range this year. All this is leading to me saying we can find someone Mid Rd w/huge pass rush and that player and Dexter be a pretty good 3tech production wise. Mason Smith Lsu looks just like Indy's Star DT. Huge, Crazy Length. So Mason, I think 🤔 we may draft Maason Rd 3 after a trade back. Or move up in Rd 4 and they move back for a Usc WR Rice Mid 3rd. (They traded back their 3rd I think the last 2 years? So ..I think they could again especially having no picks.

If we trade down again and take Darius Robinson we can add a Tackle to 1.Caleb 2. Robinson DE 20's 3. Fraiser C Rd 2. Rd 3 trade down, Grab WR Rice to play slot. We would then have another 2nd and 2 4ths on top of those players. 1 4th would be DT Maason Smith

@@Nautilus1972 He Can Play Slot. He's actually been lined up at X, Y and Z through the years and been Great at all of them. Now, Keenan Allen is WR2, so when this OC goes 2 TEs which he does a lot. Allen is gonna stay on the field. Hopefully not as many 🎯 keeps him healthy. Mike Williams was Chargers Big No.2 and he is really overrated imo. He's Ok, not a Pro Bowler. Keenan Allen is when he's right.

Darius Robinson and Maason Smith will both be 🐻. I'm calling someone else's shot 😂😂😂💯🤷🏻 9 is traded back, maybe twice into the 20's or for a lot going into the 20's. Take Darius Robinson. Maason Smith will be taken after a trade back in Rd 3. Maybe 🤔 4th Rd. 1 is Caleb Williams QB Usc 😅🤣😂💯 Calling it. 🤣 They will also address WR, T, Interior OL in that order imo. Pending what player is where. You can get a Jalen Coker Rd 5-6 who has starter potential 💯
If we do not trade down, and Rome or one of the other three top receivers are there I think we should take one. One trait I noticed about Poles he is great at getting outstanding players in the UN drafted I think he could actually get a good one from there and get the guy next year for defense
That’s how a 4-3 scheme works. DE’s set the edge first then push the qb with pressure up the middle to close throwing lanes and collapsing the pocket and the two best that fit that is Jered Verse and Darius Robinson
Love it... I would be happy with that outcome (Caleb, Verse, Rice). Wouldn't hurt my feelings if instead of Verse we got JPJ and then just got a rental at edge. While drafting Edge high in 2025.
PS if we got Rice at 75, I would immediately buy a Rice bears jersey. Can we force him to wear #80?

Its not that I don't like Turner, I just think people have him a bit too high. When I got him at pick #21 in my 32 man mock, i had like 50 comments saying "NO WAY TURNER falls that far", and I just think people are overrating him a bit due to Will Andersons success last year.

a pick swap punishment wouldn't be unprecedented in the NFL as a punishment for tampering. Last year, the Arizona Cardinals were forced by League office to swap 3rd round picks with the Philadelphia Eagles for tampering in the hiring of then-defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon.

What do you mean "The other guy". Like who the other team is taking? Usually not. GMs are smart, and they usually have an "Idea" who other teams want. Like last year with the Eagles, I don't think they SAID they wanted Jalen Carter, but Poles assumed that is who they wanted. Definitely some risk always involved
What do people see in Byron Murphy? Yes he has good get off & a good motor... And T Rex arms, and struggles vs doubles & getting off combo blocks...

The Bears need to pair Caleb with a WR @9. Keenan Allen gets hurt a lot on a 1 year deal. After DJ, Allen & Cole you have nothing. If you want to set Caleb up for success @9 Pick a WR. Defense draft is next year. This defense was top 5 last 8 or 9 games let these coaches coach.

Every Young DL, Even DT learned from Yannick last year. He was a leader and a teacher. He didn't give you the Sacks you wanted, but he did help this team for a cheap 1yr deal that should pay off a long time. Also, Yannick looked a lot better when Sweat got here.
