You may not see this but I'm starting tomorrow and looking for one more price of advice. Could I only drink 2 bottles of water instead of 4 idk if this is dangerous
@@Dinosaurriver there is no reason to restrict water. Drink as much as you need and get plenty of electrolytes in the form of mineral water or electrolyte powders.
@@dr.nickzyrowski thank you so much 😁 I won't set a limit on water I'll just drink till I'm full. I was just thinking of putting salt in my water ( about 2 tbsp) for electrolytes, sodium, and potassium.
45 hours down 27 more to go. This video was too perfect with the timing.
@jwolf267 Yeah. After the 16-18hour mark was when I stopped feeling hungry, and it got easier as time went on. I didn't have any issues falling asleep or staying asleep. I was actually feeling well rested during it.
I could say exactly the same thing about your comment 😂 I have literally got the same time left
It’s actually much easier to go without food than you’d expect, the first day can be difficult if your full of toxins as you might get headaches as the toxins release but you won’t feel hungry like you do on a diet providing you drink enough pure spring water. I’ve done a ten day fast before and could have easily done longer, it does wonders for your mental state ❤
Exogenous ketones can help you avoid those headaches day 1 and two.
The most difficult day for me is always the very last one (3rd day). First and second day are easy AF but last one I feel extremely exhausted and I count the hours until I get to the 72 hour mark where I eat and then my energy levels are restored
@@ChrisPTY507Same brother man. Maybe we just have more glycogen stored at the beginning.
@@rh.m6660 Minor update: Last week, I attempted a 72-day water fast, and the exhaustion and fatigue I described previously began on the 32nd hour this time around. For some reason, the fatigue I felt this time was much higher than in previous attempts.
Despite this, I managed to push through the entire 72 hours, but it was much more difficult than I anticipated. I literally wanted to cut the fast short because of how tired I felt. I'm not sure what went wrong or if my glycogen reserves were diminished for whatever reason.
@@ChrisPTY507Were you getting electrolytes?
Great video, thanks.
Just attempted a 3 day fast and did manage to do two full days with no eating and drinking just water but I'll be honest, it was pretty awful, especially the 2nd day up until around 3 pm. I played golf that 2nd day for nine holes and felt ok. My advice to everybody would be to go down to 2 meals per day for 3 days and then down to 1 meal per day for another 3 days before you attempt a 3 day fast. Next time I do it that's what I'm going to do. I eventually want to do a 7 day at some point.
well put together, thank you
I’m on day 3. Super Bowl Sunday and I’m visiting family. I’m not much into sports but there’s going to be lots of food there. Being on day 3 though I feel my willpower is way stronger than day 1 and 2.
I like Dr. Nick Zyrowski's style of presenting the methods needed in healing naturally. Thanks, Doctor! 👍👍👍👍👍
My friend and I were discussing a 3 day fast last night. I guess this is our sign to go ahead and do it. 🙌🏼💕
Did you add sea salt or Celtic salt. Or just pure water and how much did u drink daily ? 😊
@@monikaleszko5343 I have multiple kinds of salt. I use Redmonds to put in my mouth when I feel hungry or have a bit of headache for sodium and I use Celtic salt in my water for the magnesium. I have a cup I use that is 35oz and I drank a few of those per day. I just put a couple pinches of the salt in my cup when I fill it. Not enough to taste salty.
The hardest thing about fasting is that as humans we are so food centered so stay busy when you’d normally be preparing or getting food. I felt like I had way too much time on my hands. 😅
It’s so helpful! Definitely glad I finally did it! Going to do a 4 day soon.
@@Adentalgrlso salt is all u need flr 2-3days, no extra supplements?
@@yul9961 I take magnesium supplements every night including through my fast but no other supplements. I did a 5 day fast a couple weeks after my 3 day and I drank some pickle juice in addition to the salt and water. It definitely helped to make it easier and gave me more energy. I used fermented pickle juice from “olive my pickle” and just did a couple shot glasses a few times a day. I’ll definitely do that going forward when I fast.
Thank you 🙏🏾
Perfect thank you :)
Thank you soooo much...
Thank you Doctor
Great info thank you ! ❤
Hey doc. Have you ever made a video on how often you can safely fast for 3 days? I've always been interested in that topic. I don't see any videos from anyone on this specific topic.
64 hours down, 8 to go.
HOW!!!!
@Dr. Nick Zyrowski how many should i do in a year?
I used to have the issue with headaches and nausea even on a one day fast. I never really trusted the advice to just ignore these symptoms. So I forced myself to eat healthy a few weeks prior. I also drank a shot of pickle juice a couple times a day during the 3 day fast. I couldn't believe the difference it made. Even with the cravings. I almost barely notice hunger. It seemed to get rid of little things wrong with your body-aches, pains, etc.
It’s the salt in the pickle juice. Add pink salt to water & it will make the headaches go away.
My only question is, can I drink herbal teas? Or like ginger turmeric teas during the fast, or is there a reason why it should be water only?
My productivity increases when I fast. A 3-day fast allows me to get a lot of work done and focus more. No need to figure out what to eat, lots of energy from giving your digestive system a break, and positive feelings from the ease and no stomach issues from food.
I am starting it today please keep me motivated
You got this!
What meal should I eat before starting the diet? Meat and fat are good for ketosis but they are more difficult to digest than carbs. I don't think it's healthy to leave a chunk of meat in my intestines for 72 hours. My meal plan for going into the fast is:
3th day before fasting: oats, kefir, pineapple + lamb liver, rice, gurkins, avocado
2nd day before fasting: oats, kefir, bluebarry's + hummus, bread, beans in tomato souse
1 day before fasting: oats, kefir, blueberrys + eggs with tomato, pepper, avocado and bread
3 day fast - start fasting with coffee and MCT oil, and then drink electrolytes.
1st day after the fast: small meals every 3 hours: bone broth, bonemarrow, egg with avocado, rice, perhaps salmon for supper
2nd day: oats, kefir, pineapple + lamb liver, rice, gurkins,
3th day: going back to meat
Is that legit?
I fast 3 days a week ,MonWedFri, one tweak I started- is to make Tuesday a near 0 carb day so as to view mon-wed as one fast in terms of insulin. Mentally I'd find a 3 day fast challenging in the way single day fasts are not. (oh and I need my coffee) , I feel that it doesnt affect autophagy as I didnt have loose skin the one time I lost significant weight
If i fast every other day, will that help my cortisol levels. Thank you for your help
Thank you for sharing Dr. Nick
I would love for try this fast but I get very hungry and get headaches please advise what can I do to stop the hunger.
If you drink enough pure spring water you won’t get hungry like you do on a diet, you will probably get headaches on the first day as the toxins release from your body but after that you will feel much better, after 3 days your headaches will probably go, just gotta flush out all the toxins. Taking diatomaceous Earth would also help, it has to be the food grade type, it will soak up the toxins in the colon that are causing the headaches ❤
Add pink salt & it will make the headaches go away ❤
Thank u for ur suggession
I have completed my 48 hours fast
Break up of fast i haved cucumber after half an hour chicken soup only soup
I just did my first 27 hour water fast and so glad i made it thru!
The only hard part was the headaches, but the PHS helped with that.
When i felt the hunger kick in i would just say out loud, "I'm not hungry!"
😂
Right about the 24 hr mark those hunger pains were really eating my stomach.
Other than that i wouldve went longer.
But i finally gave in and broke my fast with 2 strawberries.
The next day i was feelin weak and tired but felt good. My tummy issues cleared up. And i actually lost 4 lbs.
I feel like i have back control of my body.
No more letting these hormones determine when i eat and what i eat.
But my mind determines it. Ive been sticking to a nice diet of fruits and veggies mainly and a few protein.
I dont even want processed greasy or sweets.
Def got my taste buds back on track
I will be doing a 24 hour fast once a week from now on !!
Its amazing to see that the less we put into our body it will take care of itself the natural way.
No medications needed!
Starve the body, feed the soul🙏♥️
Matthew 4
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone,
but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’
Can you drink Kombucha to break the fast?
Can i take moringa powder and psyllium while fasting?
I thought could have bone broth during a fast. What about b vitamin complex supplement would help with that fatigue etc and could take omega 3s also I'd assume so. 🤔
Working for me. I cut the sugar and then going off food was easy.
I’ve been on creatine for a month now can i keep taking creatine during the fast or do i have to stop during the fast?
Great Video! Thank you.
What about hommade greek yoghurt from grasfed milk to break a fast? It has probiotics, fats and proteins
What if you anemic? Would this work
im at 68 got 5 more to do. Im having a hard time, fatigue, no energy at all. Diarrhea shot out this morning. I woke up energize but now crashed all day and in pain. can't wait till this is over. Water and sea salt only.
Can I do long water fast with gallbladder removal??
I’ve been having chronic prostate inflammation for the last 5-6 years, medication doesn’t do anything so I stopped everything and did 72h fast as my last hope, didn’t really believe it would do anything to help honestly but I tried.
Result: inflammation 90% gone, pain free, obviously not cured but I think I’ll do 72h every 4/5 months just to manage the pain and see where that leads.
Pretty magical our bodies!
im actually doing this fast, tomorrow is my last day so lets go!!!
Can I take a vitamin D and k2 supplement during fast?
How about having sugar-free gum?
My issue, I can lose 10 lbs fasting in a few days, no problem. But I can gain 10 lbs in a few days once I start eating again. so I am caught in this eternal struggle of the yo-yo lose/gain weight preventing me to stay at a specific weight number.
I'm 52 hours in and was wondering how best to break it when I inevitably hit the 72nd. Superb video, exactly what I was looking for. Looks like a nice long-boiled chicken soup is gonna fit your recommendations perfectly.
Going to eat after really slowly? You got some estimated time?
Is it okay if I drink Himalayan pink salt with my water for electrolytes
It is recommended by some who have found fasting much easier with electrolytes than with none.
What about if you got to take your medication with food....would this work out for me dr.?
If you are going to fast and on medications your should clear it with your prescribing doctor.
Hello Dr.Z ❤😊
Can you please 🙏 let us know which supplements you should stop ✋️ with or the one you need to continue
I am not talking about someone using prescription medications
I only use supplements
I personally take no supplements while doing a 3 day fast other than electrolytes and sometimes a ketone powder.
@dr.nickzyrowski 😊❤️👍
They are still supplements
I would like to do only true salt from Raymond salt, but again, that amount of salt depends on your body type right
I don't like doing any powder if it has B vitamins
@@juliatshamoun4666 the electrolytes are from real salt. That brand is not the only real salt that exists.
Nick, my electrolytes have sweetner - sucralose in it, would thst affect my fast?
If your doing it for weight loss no, if your doing it to reset your immune system then probably yes.
I am not a fan of sucralose. There are many studies showing it is not healthy for the body. Most cannot agree on this but I avoid.
I have some questions during 3-day fast:
1) Can I take my daily vitamins/minerals and fish oils ?
2) I know Gatorade have electrolytes, but it also got sugar in it. Should I go for it, or just drop it and go strict water without electrolytes.
3) I cook Adzuki beans & Red leaf lentils, then grind it and put it in a glutenfree bread mix and make bread. If I eat two slices, Do my body use the bread first for energy, then go back into ketosis? do I have to start my fast all over.
4) Can I eat walnut kernel and other nuts?
I saw this clip and jumped right in, i'm 36hr into the fast and accidently ate some walnut kernel. Did I mess it up?
Sugar is a carb, consuming carbs of any sort including sugar in the Gatorade and the lentil/bean mix won’t allow you to get into ketosis. This isn’t a true fast.

Water only is best
Take vitamins/meds if necessary

Caved in at 65 hours and broke my fast. The hunger and tiredness feeling that i was expecting to dissapear after 48 hours just got a lot worse on the 3rd day. Tried tons of sparkling water, salt, tea, coffee to no avail. I did it on a whim though, had a lot of carbs the days before and even beers the night before. Next time ill prepare better and hopefully it will go smoother.
I had the same in my first fasts i did. It was a motherfucker. Now i am in the middle of a 72 fast and this time it was much easier. The only things i did diffrent this time was that I went on full keto diet two days before the start if the fast and I allowed myself coffee this time.
@@jarllunde i will def. go keto before my next fast.
Im doing modified fasting im doing okay on day 3
You can have aome black coffee, it has no calories
What do you use for electrolytes please? Thank you

@@dr.nickzyrowski Wont the amino acids and lemon flavour increase insulin?
What extra benefits difference is there compared to a 2 day fast?
More benefits to immune health and a better stem cell boost.
Day 1 of fasting 😚
the first time i fasted 2 days my head hurt alot by hour 22
then i got the keto flu
the second time my head hurt less
and now im on my third
head hurt very little for just an hour
I’m 57 and about hour 65 I get really tired and wonky. What am I doing wrong
Definitely consider electrolytes. That is a big one.
Sometimes using ketones will help you as well.
The most difficult day for me is always the very last one (3rd day). First and second day are easy AF but last one I feel extremely exhausted and I count the hours until I get to the 72 hour mark where I eat and then my energy levels are restored
same here
I found the opposite to be true!
Why can’t I eat raw vegetables?
Dr Nick, have you ever extended the fast beyond the 72 hours? 5 day fast?
Yes, I have. I don’t talk about it on the channel much because most people have no interest in it.
Im Interested !!!
Im in Day 1 or fasting and my stomach makes some weird sounds...will update soon

ty but i want to see the ingredents label that is on the bottle@@dr.nickzyrowski
Also I take hbp meds and other meds, does this break a fast, not a achieving autophagy??
I stopped my BP meds so I wouldn't bottom out by not eating food. But I am a nurse and monitored myself. I'm can't tell u to do the same but definitely talk to your Dr but most Dr's are against fasting and keto so, u will have to decide.
