Two out of three points are currently in play. Stoping trading suddenly with China would create a major spike in the cost of things in the US and put the US economy in tali spin. US must decouple with China as quickly as possible, friend shore and near shore products that we use as fast as possible. Also we need to Sanction Chinese banks and defense industry and cut them of the SWIFT system in the next three years. It has to include all our European allies and friends world wide to do the same. This will stop the Chinese economy cold. Also stop the flow of oil from the gulf route to China, these measures need to be done prior to firing one bullet.

A lot, if not most, of the Chinese Navy are designed for coastal operations. They are producing more non coastal ships, but they have minimal experience in deep water operations.
And coastal defense is all that's needed for the south china sea. The depth is no deeper than 100 feet and taiwan is only 100 miles from the coastline. The range of many missiles that can be launched from brown water ships far exceeds the distance to taiwan...
What difference does deep water make? The boat just floats at the top weather it’s 100 feet or 1,000ft above the Mariana Trench 🚢

@@charliefrharper The US may have suffered literally a huge military failure against the vietcong. But the Chinese couldn't sustain it and were ruined as well. Keep in mind, the US is not good at dealing with insurgencies and it is humilliating and true that Afghanis literally took on Navy seals in Red wings, being only 8-12 afghanis vs 30+ navy seals with QRF support.
Remember that the US is a beast at dealing with direct combat, and China will not fare at all because it's NCOs are known to have toxic behavior and a toxic workplace in the military. All of these being very similar to the Iraqi Military. I'm pretty sure it'll go like Iraq, US trying to place a democratic government after destroying the dictatorship then pulling out not wanting to deal with insurgency, leaving the country in ruins. Its gonna go like hell.

This is what happens when you do not target enemy leadership. We use to, back when we were dealing with Pirates in Africa.
Remember how, during WWII, as Germany invaded the industrial areas of Russia, Stalin had enough of the factories relocated farther east and production of war material was restarted even before there were buildings to house it in? I wonder if there are contingency plans with chipmakers in Taiwan to relocate key people and equipment to a friendly shore that will be safe from a Chinese invasion. Groundwork for those plans should already exist in my estimation. Yes, it would be a disruption in the flow of components, but it would not be a cessation.
Zero, because possession of those fabs is the only reason for nations to get involved. The sheer amount of equipment that would need to be relocated, and not damaged in transit, by planes and ships all subject to being sunk would mean you would be lucky to have any of it get to friendly shores after hostilities pop off. Hauling all that stuff offshore is a lot different from putting lathes and milling machines on trucks and trains.
The machines Taiwan uses for chipmaking are from the netherlands. Skilled labor is just cheaper there than the west.

I’m not worried about China at the moment. The same logic unfortunately applies to us. With this attempted globalist takeover, we might find ourselves in a fight with them instead. When shit hits the fan and you have minutes to save the lives of yourself and crew, nobody cares what gender you want to be. South and North Korea have almost went to active war a few times. Look at the 2 US officers who were killed by a North Korean soldier in the 70s. @@smking100 That's not unheard of for other nations, but generally if in-port maintenance leads to internal flooding (they were probably commissioning their seawater systems and produced an unfixable leak) it can be saved. US policy has a very strict boundary layer for maintenance on anything that can lead to the ship sinking, so you know the consequences of the 8 bolts you're about to loosen. I presume this strictness does not exist in China and just cost them hundreds of millions in repair if they can recover the hull.
It's baffling to think of what conditions would be necessary to sink a sub in port. Not only would the upper command need to be held unaware of a flooding emergency, but the culprits would also need to have allowed it to continue for hours. This must have been poor design, poor maintenance practices, and poor leadership from the top to the bottom. Anyone could have manned the EMBT air bank system and kept the sub surfaced while dewatering efforts were taken. Utter catastrophe.
