Join us in celebrating Laphroaig’s 200th year of award-winning whisky. We've been dividing opinions around the world since 1815, and in our anniversary year we are continuing our popular and brutally honest “Opinions Welcome” campaign, but this time coming to our home on the Isle of Islay and asking the locals to share their candid opinions on what Laphroaig tastes like to them personally. So now why not tell us what you think and share your opinion?! Go on, be honest, we can take it!

Not only is this my favorite whisky flavor, but I love how bold and honest they are about it. Who else throws out the negative opinions with the positive ones? They're saying, "We are who we are and we aren't gonna change." I love that.
I truly love your commercials - they always bring a smile and remind me to drink some Laphroaig.

One of the best ads I’ve seen in quite a long time
These are the most compelling ads for a whiskey I have ever seen. Makes me both want and not want to try it at the same time with the mystique driving me to closer to the liquor store every day lol.
Go for it! Got my first taste of this a few days ago and it’s really something special. Buy it, experience it, and share it with someone. That’s the way to do it!
It's like Marmite Odin, Love it or loathe it, but you have to try it. It really is special and although at first it will taste of Germaline, Creosote and Burned Tar, each sip gets smoother until you feel there's a party on your tongue and everyone's invited!
@@waynewithers4968 I did buy a bottle a few months back and it was a very unique but very pleasant whiskey. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will again in the future

Just had a night on the Quarter Cask with friends. Used it as an introduction to Scotch for many of them thinking I would be funny. They all really liked it, which was not good, as the contents of my bottle kept going down after that. LOVE THIS STUFF.
Aye, quarter cask is the way to go.
I'm proud to say im a fan of Laphroaig whisky and as I type this I see it's time to get another bottle. Way to go Laphroaig on 200 years of distilling a quality whisky. On a side note could you please send someone to trim the grass on my 1 square foot of land out there, I cant make over it to Scotland this year : )

I love it. Had it tonight with friends . I heard “smells like shoe leather” “antiseptic” “sweaty sock”. I just smiled and enjoyed watching my friends struggle with a new smell .
I discovered this exquisite dram many years ago and I don't think of it as a fine malt. It's far more than that. It's a work of art. Laphroaig is the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

Laphroaig and Caol Ila made me proud of my family's history of digging peat.
They did also get me another date a few days ago, so thanks for that.
I wasn't sure if I liked it or not at first. I didn't distinctly dislike it...but I didn't distinctly like it either. So the bottle sat for a few days, and I poured out another sip. And was still perplexed. A week later, another sip...still no conclusion.
It's been about a month of sipping and the first bottle's nearly gone. And I have to admit--if I didn't like it, I wouldn't have gotten this far! I think it's time to admit that even though I can't quite define my impression of it, I do in fact enjoy it, and will definitely be buying another bottle. If for no other reason than to continue being perplexed at my own taste.

some people who liked it, and some who didn't. Yes, it's a polarizing
dram. Laphroaig is very good. But it could be great, _outstanding_, even.
Guys, please stop using caramel colorants. Please stop chill-filtering. Maybe bump up the ABV too.
You'll be making wannabe connoisseurs like me very, very happy.

Had my first Laphroaig 10 Yr. Old tonight 12/30/15, after a dinner of Shepard's Pie at Mullane's in Brooklyn NY. First Islay Whisky LOVED IT!!!! SLAINTE!!

The best Islay Single Malt out there. It is too peaty for some but just right for me. It has a wonderful smokiness with a butterscotchy sweet finish going down. Irresistible flavor. You love it or hate it. I love it.
I always tell all my friends I don't drink scotch. But for some reason I love Laphroaig! My first "sip" was with my pastor who was enjoying a glass of "campfire" across the table from me. When the smoky peaty aroma hit my nostrils, I had to have a sip! Many bottles with family and friends (who are also not scotch drinkers) ever since!
I love the fisherman's voice, he'd be awesome doing audio books. The descriptions are hilarious! First time I tried Laphroaig it made my tongue numb and I couldn't taste anything else but smoky, salty tar the rest of the night lol!

My wife and I tried Laphroaig for the first time in 2005 in Italy of all places. We have been drinkers ever since.

Tonight, I finally opened a bottle of Laphroaig 10-year I had been saving for 10 years. I figured now is an appropriate time to drink a 10-year-old scotch I have been saving for 10 years. My first impression was the smell of wet rubber, like how a tire smells when you change it on a rainy day. Next, the smell of peat I think I love it. Planning on trying the 10 Year Sherry Oak and 10 Year Cask Strength next. I won't wait 10 years this time.

First sip was "wow, boom". Since then, I only drink Laphroaig.
Never thought I would like smokey/peaty scotch, but these commercials convinced me to drop $60 of stimulus money on a bottle. Now I'm addicted for life, absolutely love it. Though, the wife cannot sit within 12 feet of me while I drink it🤣

1st sip... I hated it. 2nd sip... I was somewhat indifferent. 3rd sip.... I was in love.

Love the whisky, love the video (but needs a volume alert first few seconds).
Tried the quarter cask... i can describe it using mostly bad flavours, tasted like smoke, rubber, dentist office, seaweed and some hint of agrumes... oddly the mixture of those flavours wans't bad at all, even without water to dilute it.
I would say it tastes like salty dog shit on fire and I love the stuff.
Leapfrog whisky nothing to croak about.
I still have a headahce, although I don't necessarily regret it.. Drink responsibly people, not like me! ;P

"tastes just the same as it did 200 years ago" lol first of all the logistics make it impossible for him to even know but second of all it does not taste like it did even 20 years ago....I love peat though and this is one peated whisky that I drink on a weekly basis
Laphroaig was been making Whiskey since 1815 lol or about 200 years and they make the whiskey the same way they made it 200 years ago so actually yes it possible for him to say that since the processes has not been changed since they started making Whiskey.
