Great question I would start with the smaller stuff like painting the wing mirror caps black etc then move on to bigger things like an exhaust etc later on. Just do whatever you think would look good 😄👍 If you want some ideas check out this video where I list all the modifications I've done: ua-cam.com/video/6A64C_wEJhI/v-deo.html

I have a 1.6l NA fiesta. It's my first car, and I love it! Everybody tells me modding it isn't worth my time or money. But I love my car! I know it makes sense to slowly save for an ST I just want it to be the best car it can be! Thank you for inspiring me!

So I did this on my mom's 2012 Honda Civic EXL that only has the r18 sohc VTEC I did the K&n intake with a heat shield REMOVED THE STOCK AIR DUCT Added the EXACT SAME custom bendable tube IN THE VIDEO that goes down to the front bumper where the fog light used to sit just like he did in the video That alone dropped her short ram intake temps with just a heat shield were 140° down to 80 to 90° with the air duct THEN AFTER THAT.... We also wrapped the intake tube itself in the gold reflective heat tape That dropped your intake temps down to 70° So with the custom air duct to the front bumper the heat shield and wrapping the intake tube in the gold reflective heat tape it dropped her intake Air temps DRAMATICALLY.....AND...... Her VTEC... Crossover is now extremely loud and you can actually hear it and feel it which is amazing for a sohc when you hear it it sounds like a dohc VTEC But even on hot summer days now her card is not getting heat soaked and her car pulls so so so so so so so so so so so so much better I have done this now in my 95 Civic Coupe that's my built track car and on my 04 Honda Accord V6 6-speed manual Coupe And my 2004 Mitsubishi lancer Ralliart It's the Best of both worlds you get the benefit of a true long cold air intake without the fear of sucking up water!!!!
Got an 06 accord 2.4L and did the same thing but I don't have a heat shield, but with an obd2 scanner, while driving, my intake temps are right around ambient outside air temp. Works perfect!
Youve blocked one form of cold air, by putting that heat shield in the way, youd be better off cutting a half moon out of it, and fitting it over the pipework to deflect hot air from the engine. The Cold air feed youve installed is also only mixing with the current heat from the engine. You need to have the air filter enclosed from the sides exposed to the most heat. A direct fit induction kit, of decent quality would come with everything you need, and would perform better
Yeah you're right a decent quality induction kit would perform better but this was done super cheap and was fun to learn about how the car takes in cold air. on my next car I'll definitely get a more effective method but this works for a 1.4 fiesta which has little power anyway 😅. But thanks for the comment I really appreciate it I'll definitely follow your advice on the next project 😄
@@NAUTOGwhy not get the aftermarket pipercross airbox? Pretty cheap, and no hydrolocking problems with the vents. Then just add a nice silicone bit from the engine to the airbox.
I'm planning to install a cold air intake on my Fiesta, and I stumbled upon your video. I have a few questions. My Fiesta has two hoses for the brake booster vacuum. Do you think I can just use one hose because the other one is connected directly to my stock air intake, which I'll replace?
Basically it occasionally has oil that comes through that tube and I didn't want any oil going into the intake but it hasn't been an issue so far 😁👍 I showed it in more detail in this video: ua-cam.com/video/5tvtxXV0pVI/v-deo.html
Hi, I am looking to do a similar thing with my Ford B-Max which has the same engine bay and engine as your festa. What did you do with the air pressure sensor that was on the air box? Have you had any problems with the oil drip pipe that goes into the sump on the stock air filter?
The MAF sensor on my car is later on in the system so I didn't have to worry about that part and I haven't had any issue with the oil drip pipe so far 🤞🏼😅
Hi, I have had the induction kit that you have in your video for a while now and it is very good and I love the noise that it makes. Have you had an MOT with yours fitted yet and if so, did you have any problems? Does your intake cause you any issues with your insurance company?
As far as I'm aware it's an oil breather tube - this is what I found online "This action of gases entering the crankcase creates crankcase pressure, which needs to be vented - and that’s where an oil breather system comes in. An oil breather system allows this build up of pressure to escape." but I'm no expert so don't take my word for it 😅
Would it be better to run the pipe to the atmosphere to the underneath of the car or would I get better performance running it into the intake like you have?
I have the same filter but in grey from carstyling i think and i didnt cut the pipe so its slightly pushing against the side but i looks solid hahaha. I absolutly love the noise it makes but wether it really sucks in cold air im not sure 😅😅
It looks cheap and a mess. But you get what you pay for. I run an ITG Maxogen cold air intake on a 2017 ST200. Sits nicely behind the headlight. Not cheap but a quality looking bit of kit.
Yeah 100% I agree this was all just an experiment to see what it would be like, in future I'd definitely look into something like what you've got it sounds like you've got a nice build going there😄
I would put the air box back on and you should have a hole in front of the filter on the side nearest the battery. This is all I have on my ford focus mk3 and it works fine 🙂

With your setup you are actually losing hp and your car will preform less efficiently. You will have higher engine Temps as well as air Temps because your car will be starving for colder air. You will also get less fuel mileage with your setup. I know it "looks" cool but it isn't functional. You are 100% better off keeping the stock airbox on and just upgrading into a higher flowing air filter.

glad to hear it and the MOT and insurance has been no issue for me
So u think its safe to connect the blue pipe to the breather pipe where oil sometimes comes out of
it's been like that on my car for over a year now and yet to have any issues so I'm guessing so 😅
You realize that's how stock cars come unless he wants too go catch can route or a small k&n valvecase breather

it's the air breather hose for the engine as far as I'm aware 😁👍
wait… what about the mass air flow sensor? lolll

What does that blue tube lead to?
